Chapter 79 Opening the Door, Singing a Different Tune

Chapter 79 Opening the Door, Singing a Different Tune (Please Read On!!!)

The next day, the three red-haired brothers took Harry and left the manor.

They had originally planned to let them stay a few more days, but considering the urgent situation on Louis's side and for his health and well-being, George and Fred decided to leave first and come back to visit later.

After much deliberation, Louis decided to ask the three brothers to give him a ride.

Now, standing in front of Catherine's house, his mind was filled with the words the twins had just said to him.

"If Catherine hangs you up, and hangs you very high, remember not to cover your head with your hands when she lowers you down," George advised.

Fred chimed in, "That way you'll suffer less."

Indeed, if you just fall and die, you'll suffer less.

He took a deep breath and recalled some of the experiences his grandfather and Ron had shared.

"To be honest, sometimes I really can't stand Hermione," Ron said, chewing on a chicken leg. "Grandpa, since you're so good at dealing with women, can you give me some advice? Oh my god, Hermione always gets angry at me for no reason."

"I can tell you, you little rascal, aren't exactly good at winning a woman's heart," Grandpa said pointedly, then added, "You throw tantrums for no reason?"

"Yes, it's just that they get angry for no reason..."

Ron was about to explain what the sentence meant when his grandfather interrupted him.

"Of course I know what that means, you silly boy. No woman gets angry for no reason, you understand?" Grandpa held up one index finger and said seriously, "But none of that matters. What you should do is apologize."

"But I don't know what I did wrong, and I don't feel I should apologize. I'm the one who's being picked on." Ron frowned and took a big bite of chicken leg.

"Oh, young man... you don't need to know what you did wrong, or feel like you should apologize. Just say it... look at those big, watery eyes of yours, use them, and look at that... um, Hermione, with a sincere expression."

Grandpa didn't feel at all that he was teaching a child badly; on the contrary, he earnestly imparted his life experience to Ron as an elder.

"But that's lying," Ron said, puzzled.

"That was the perfect time to lie, you idiot... Who told you to make them angry?" Grandpa scolded Ron with exasperation.

Ron still didn't understand and muttered, "I was just telling the truth."

"It seems you don't quite understand your situation... Think about it, do you want to be nagged by Hermione for an entire afternoon?" Grandpa asked without even lifting his eyelids.

"Oh... Oh!" Ron suddenly understood.

Thinking of his grandfather's earnest teachings, Louis's eyes welled up with tears.

How wonderful it would be if I could be a heartless scumbag?

With that thought in mind, he knocked on Catherine's door.

"They're here...who is it?" Catherine asked from behind the door.

"Singing a different tune, sending magazines—" Louis lowered his voice.

He didn't know whether the Worleys had actually subscribed to The Quibbler, but it was much more reliable than the Daily Prophet, right?

Claiming to be the "Daily Prophet" makes one vulnerable to being cursed.

The door opened, and Louis saw Catherine's pretty face, which was initially expressionless, but then instantly turned furious upon seeing him.

She slammed the door shut in a huff, but Louis slipped past her and squeezed in first.

Catherine's eyes burned with rage, searing Louis's heart, which was tinged with a hint of guilt. Her full breasts heaved, clearly indicating that she was on the verge of exploding with anger.

Seeing her hand already reaching for her wand in her pocket, Louis rushed forward and hugged Catherine, looking at her sincerely with his big, watery eyes, and apologized from the bottom of his heart: "I'm sorry, Cathy, I'm so sorry..."

Catherine paused for a moment. That pitiful look in Louis's eyes dampened her desire to use a spell to punish him. She withdrew her hand, which had already reached for the wand, and shoved Louis away.

Louis knew he had a chance, and now was not the time to give up halfway. He quickly pounced on her again and hugged her, only to be pushed away immediately.

After this happened several times, Catherine finally stopped pushing him and turned her body away.

No matter what, don't even think about making me forgive that little bastard! She thought fiercely to herself.

Because it was summer and the weather was quite hot, Catherine was only wearing a thin white shirt. Louis's hot breath blew through the shirt and onto her skin, making her feel a little irritable.

Several times her hand had already touched the wand, but she really couldn't bear to part with it, even though the little deer behind her hadn't written to her for almost a month.

Before seeing Louis, Catherine had vowed to herself that when they met, she would hang him upside down, if not burn him alive, and keep him there for at least a whole day. But now she sadly realized that once they met, she couldn't bring herself to punish this little deer who was clinging to her and whispering apologies, even though she knew how much of it was genuine.

"I'm sorry, Casey, I'm really sorry," Louis apologized in a muffled voice, trying his best to make his voice sound sincere.

"Do you think I'd believe that? If even one word of what you said were true, you wouldn't have waited until you saw a flock of owls to come to my house..."

"I'll do anything you ask if you'll forgive me," Louis said sincerely.

He now truly regrets it; how could he have forgotten to write to Catherine during his vacation?

The wizarding world is really something, they don't even have a telephone—Harry and others living with Muggle families can chat on the phone all the time, but for a purely magical family like the senior's, they can only communicate by owl.

"Hmph..." Catherine remained unmoved, she merely gave a cold snort.

"Actually, I don't know how to face you right now. Every time I think of you, my mind is in complete turmoil," Louis said to himself. "In reality, I'm running away, running away from my true feelings."

At this point, Louis was so moved that he actually believed it himself.

That makes sense; how can you move others if you don't move yourself first?

He also felt Catherine's body tremble slightly as he held her.

"But I had already decided on the way that I could no longer be a coward. I should face my own heart with dignity, like a man."

Louis completely disregarded the system's frantic warnings. He didn't care about the Lightning Skill Tree or the Eye of Griffin. All he wanted now was to prevent his senior from becoming distant from him and turning into a stranger in his world.

"Consider it atonement," he thought to himself, preparing to utter those words.
