Dungeon Designer: Bringing Smiles to the World!

Chapter 23 Patch, the Trustworthy One

According to the description of the Sick Village Key, the group knew that the final boss of this dungeon was probably the Gluttonous Dragon.

But "dragon" is just a general term.

The most common five-colored dragons belong to the Chaos faction.

The metallic dragon, whose body is covered in scales that resemble metal, belongs to the Order faction.

There are even rarer gem dragons that belong to the neutral faction.

Not to mention those legendary dragons like the Sun Dragon, Moon Dragon, and even the Time Dragon.

These are all dragons, but they vary drastically in size and strength.

After carefully searching her memory, Elisa, who came from a magic academy, shook her head: "Gluttonous Dragon, I've never seen that name in the academy either."

"You can tell it's a dragon just by its name," Joel said in a deep voice.

Elisa rolled her eyes: "Of course, the question now is whether or not to fight it."

With the option to "Return to Bone Fragment," the group's ultimate goal no longer needed to be limited to clearing the dungeon, but could instead focus on collecting the treasures scattered throughout the sick village.

If they could find more Warm Stones and resell them along with the firsthand information about Blighttown, the team could make a fortune.

However, it is clear that not everyone thinks this way.

Elisa suggested, "How? Should we decide by voting?"

She could accept either facing the gluttonous dragon or plundering the treasures of the diseased village.

Joel placed his hand on the hilt of his sword and uttered a seemingly childish statement: "My sword is thirsty."

"Come on, you just want to see what a dragon looks like, don't you?" Alyssa understood what Joel meant, so she turned to look at the other two.

"Can't we explore the Blighttown first and then challenge the Gluttonous Dragon?" Grace asked softly.

Elisa instinctively reached out to pat Grace's head, but under River's cold gaze, she withdrew her hand and explained:

"Reality is not those cliché hero stories. The protagonist conquers all the dungeons leading to the Demon City, kills all the Demon King's military officers, and finally faces the Demon King head-on and defeats him."

Although with you as the priest, there's no need to worry about minor injuries, my magic reserves will eventually run out, and mental fatigue can't be completely eliminated.

Most importantly, who can guarantee that there won't be any unexpected casualties during the exploration?

You can't have your cake and eat it too; it's a very simple truth.

The final choice was in Grace's hands, since River would definitely support her unconditionally.

The priestess lowered her head, lost in deep thought.

Grace was drawn to the vast story hidden behind the Sick Village and wanted to uncover it.

But she also wanted to see the gluttonous dragon in person and fight it, just like the knight in the story who bravely fought the dragon and finally rescued the princess. Even if she died in the end, it would definitely be an unforgettable experience.

The campfire burned quietly, but the girl was so deep in thought that she was almost asleep. She had never made such a difficult decision on her own before. Grace subconsciously looked at River beside her, wanting to ask for help.

But the latter just stood there quietly, without saying a word.

Ultimately, the girl made a difficult decision.

"Okay, I..."

But just before she could give her full choice, a cunning laugh rang out outside the cabin.

"Oh ho ho ha ha ha ha ha, I didn't expect to see living people in the disease village."

Outside the door, a sleazy, bald figure peeked into the wooden hut: "The immortals inside, huh? Let this poor soul go in and rest by the campfire."

Almost the instant the sound rang out, Joel drew his sword, and Elisa began chanting a spell.

The rules for the [Taifa Dungeon] are the same as those for the [Rogue Dungeon]: only when all the previous group of adventurers has died or left the dungeon can the next group of adventurers enter.

The four of them remembered very clearly that no one had entered the dungeon with their team!

Then there's only one answer: the only thing outside the door could be monsters from the dungeon!

Dungeons are never short of strange monsters, so it's not surprising that they can make human voices.

Even if it has a human form, it doesn't prove anything; the other party could be a vampire's blood servant or a mimic.

As the incantation ended, the [Magic Missile] mercilessly slammed into the figure outside the door.

Unexpectedly, the figure suddenly produced a huge shield and stood it in front of him using some unknown method.

The missile struck the shield and exploded with a deafening roar, leaving the figure hiding behind it completely unharmed.

As the smoke cleared, a figure pushed open the door and said, "I mean no harm. Those monsters infected by the breeding ground can't get near the campfire."

Such a simple sentence was certainly not enough to dispel the vigilance of the people inside the room.

"Charge!" Joel charged toward the figure who had stepped into the room, sword in hand.

Grace also used the spells engraved on her staff to instantly fire several fire arrows.

Faced with the incoming attack, the figure holding the shield simply raised it firmly without any intention of retaliating.

"Hey! I already said I meant no harm! Do you guys really enjoy attacking an innocent businessman like me?!"

"A merchant?" Upon hearing this word, Joel slammed his longsword down. "What merchant would buy things in a dungeon?!"

"clang!!!"

The longsword struck the iron shield adorned with the insignia of the Reverse Eagle, but was deflected, causing Joel a sharp pain in his wrist.

Even a magic-level fire arrow hitting the great shield had no effect.

For a time, a mid-level swordsman and a low-level mage were unable to do anything about each other.

No matter what attacks Joel and Elisa use, they will be blocked by that shield.

A shadow flashed by, and Rivers circled behind the figure, a dagger already pressed against her neck, drawing blood.

The figure had no choice but to drop his shield and hurriedly begged for mercy: "I surrender, I surrender. It's just my bad luck to be robbed by you guys."

But his pleas for mercy did not make Joel stop his sword.

Just as the longsword was about to strike, Grace suddenly shouted.

"Stop it, everyone!!!"

Joel immediately stopped what he was doing, and Grace stopped chanting the spell. Both of them looked at Grace in surprise.

Grace blushed as everyone stared at her, and her voice immediately softened.

"I... I think... no, maybe we should listen to what he has to say before deciding..."

The figure who was being restrained immediately said, "Hey, I knew this immortal lady was beautiful and kind-hearted, how could she bear to kill an honest merchant like me?"

"Grace, how could there be a merchant in the dungeon? We're not even sure if he's human," Elisa warned.

But Rivers suddenly spoke up: "No, he is indeed human."

"Uh..." Elisa, who had just been proven wrong, stopped talking, but still gripped her staff, ready to cast a spell at any moment.

Seeing this, Joel temporarily put down his sword, ready to see what kind of nonsense this self-proclaimed merchant could spout.

"My name is Patch." Seeing that he was safe, Patch smiled. "Everyone calls me Reliable Patch, Trustworthy Patch."
