Dungeon Designer: Bringing Smiles to the World!

Chapter 4: The despicable adventurer who only knows how to team up to clear dungeons.

Sensing that someone else had entered the dungeon, Rogge shook his bracelet, and a monitor-like image was projected in front of him.

In the scene, Elisa, Joel, and Grace are moving quickly through a seemingly harmless tunnel.

Clearly, they were prepared for a swift victory.

"Huh? This mage is here again? Is he really that stubborn?" Rogge was a little surprised. "But he even brought a swordsman and a priest with him. It seems the first half of the first floor won't be a problem for them."

Just as Roger had predicted, after leaving the tunnel, the three quickly and effectively eliminated the living corpses of the feigning dead in more than a dozen cells.

The method of exploding maggots at close range is effective against female mages with low defense and exposed skin, but it is not very useful against swordsmen wearing armor.

Even if maggots crawled onto Joel, Grace, being a half-merman and half-human, could use her innate water ball spell to wash them all away.

"It's here! It's here!"

Elisa happily picked up the equipment dropped by the previous groups of adventurers from the ground.

"Don't get too excited," Joel cautioned. "We need to clear out the dungeon to take these things out."

"Maintaining a positive mood is also key to unlocking this underground city."

Elisa spoke with the air of someone who had been through it all, while Grace beside her nodded thoughtfully.

Without wasting too much time in the first half of the prison, the three continued to advance deeper into the prison.

Soon, the three arrived at the corner where Elisa had been killed by the Licker.

After taking a deep breath, Joel gripped the hilt of his sword, took a step forward, and simultaneously assumed a stance to raise his sword and parry.

Sure enough, the next instant, a long, scarlet tongue whistled through the air and headed straight for Joel's head!

"clang!!!"

The sword trembled, but Joel, a swordsman whose reflexes were faster than those of a mage like Elisa, successfully blocked the attack.

"hiss……"

A sharp roar rang out. Looking up, one could see a monster crawling on the ceiling, its body entirely crimson, with huge claws and a barbed tongue, as if it had crawled out of a nightmare.

Elisa began chanting incantations rapidly, while the Licker lunged at her, brandishing its claws.

"Hey! You'll have to get past me first!"

Joel swung his sword, successfully slashing the Licker down from mid-air and rendering it stunned.

Just as Joel was about to press his advantage, Elisa's voice rang out behind him.

"Get out of the way!"

Joel immediately stepped aside, and the azure magic missile traced a path as it crashed into the Licker on the ground.

"boom!"

The missile blew off half of the Licker's body, and the Licker rolled around on the ground in pain for a few moments before going still.

"You dared to ambush me?" Elisa stormed forward and kicked the Licker's corpse a few times in a fit of rage.

"This doesn't seem to be an undead creature," Grace said, puzzled. "I just used a purification spell, but it didn't work."

Joel flipped through the corpse with his sword: "A new monster? I remember the Adventurers' Guild has a rule that you get a reward of a dozen silver coins for reporting a new monster found in a dungeon. If you can record its characteristics and weaknesses, you'll get at least one gold coin."

As soon as she finished speaking, Elisa took out paper and pen and began to write furiously.

"Its appearance is similar to that of a skinned frog, it walks on four limbs, and its size is slightly smaller than that of an average human."

Its weapons are a long, spiky tongue that can extend four to five meters, and huge claws on its limbs.

They usually like to launch attacks while hanging upside down from the ceiling in corners.

It has a relatively fast attack speed, weak cube resistance, and is unaffected by purification spells, thus confirming it as a non-undead creature.

As a magician, Elisa is quite good at recording and summarizing.

"The first adventurer to discover a new monster has the right to name it. What name do you want to give this thing?" Joel asked Elisa.

Before Alyssa could respond, a piece of paper suddenly fell from the Licker's menacing fangs.

Grace bent down and picked it up, exclaiming in surprise, "There are words on this!"

The other two immediately came over.

"To any adventurer."

Consider this a gift for any unfortunate adventurer who enters this dungeon.

Beware of those gruesome monsters; I've named these skinned creatures "Lickers."

Like bats, they cannot see anything, but their hearing is exceptionally acute.

When you encounter these monsters, it's best to walk around them quietly without making a sound.

Hopefully, this information will help you escape this underground city.

As for me...

Please wish me good luck, this poor wretch who can't afford to cast a resurrection spell on himself...

The handwriting on the piece of paper was very messy, and the words conveyed a sense of despair.

Clearly, the person who wrote this note is probably already dead, and most likely was eaten clean by the monster called "Licker" in front of them.

"Really, really, someone would enter a dungeon without a resurrection spell?" Grace couldn't help but ask.

"Being an adventurer is not a safe job, and dungeons are not exactly safe places."

Joel glanced at Grace, whose attire was understated but made of high-quality materials, clearly not belonging to commoners, and said in a deep voice, "Every year, countless adventurers die completely for various reasons, even becoming living corpses without thoughts or memories."

"If you want to continue in this line of work, you have to be mentally prepared at all times," Elisa reminded her as she wrote down the important information on the note that the Licker was blind.

For a moment, the atmosphere in the group became somewhat heavy.

Finally, it was Joel who broke the atmosphere that was not conducive to continuing to explore the dungeon.

He patted his chest confidently: "Don't worry, as long as I'm alive, you two will definitely be safe. As long as we work together, we will definitely be able to open up this underground city."

Although her words sounded like she was setting herself up for death, Grace still mustered her spirits and offered a prayer that would slightly increase Joel's strength and stamina.

After regrouping, the three continued on their way.

……

"I'll give you a hint. I have high hopes for you guys." Deep inside the dungeon, Rogue, who was watching Elisa and her group's exploration, smiled.

That note was obviously written by Rogue; there was no such thing as an adventurer entering the Dorne Dungeon without casting a resurrection spell on themselves.

As he spoke, Roger rang the bell in his hand.

"Ring ring..."

A grayish-white phantom wielding two swords, wearing armor, and with red glowing eyes, appeared out of thin air beside Rogge.

He was none other than a "Knight of the Lost Home"!

"Hmm, it should be fine." Roger nodded and tossed the bell to a decaying wild dog beside him.

With the bell gently held between its teeth, the rotting wild dog dashed off towards the poison pool at the junction of the first and second floors.
