The Bizarre Adventure of the Warhammer Guard
Chapter 12 Resident Evil, Activated!
At night, a heavy rain was falling. On the side of a highway on the edge of the city, a golden giant suddenly appeared out of thin air.
"Where have I been teleported to?" the golden giant murmured.
This was Elpis. He had just been exploring his special abilities in a secret chamber beneath the palace when he found himself in an unfamiliar place.
Elpis looked around. He was standing on the grass, surrounded by darkness, with only a faint light from a streetlamp on a nearby road.
Highways, streetlights, sky—this wasn't Terra. Elpis looked up at the sky, and his helmet visor indicated that he had lost communication with the Empire.
He made a judgment: had he been transported to some lost world?
Elpis felt the Moon Spear in his hand; he could no longer enter the state he was in when he was teleported, as if he had entered some kind of "cooldown period".
The built-in monitoring devices on the armor were operating, faithfully carrying out their mission. Soon, monitoring messages came in, showing the environmental conditions of the area and a red message indicating that communication with the Empire had failed.
The environment on this planet is very suitable for human survival. It could be turned into a garden world, Elpis thought to himself, preparing to learn about this world before he could go back.
"Bang……"
A few faint gunshots rang out in the distance, which Elpis's superhuman hearing picked up and heard as some kind of ancient, small-caliber gunpowder weapon.
Elpis had an idea and immediately walked toward the source of the sound.
Soon after, Elpis saw a familiar yet unfamiliar building with a brightly lit sign that read "24-Hour Gas Station" in some ancient low Gothic language.
Elpis felt a little strange. In his more than two hundred years of great expeditions, he had encountered countless human worlds, but without exception, none of them had the same architectural style as his previous life.
Here, the familiar architectural style and the familiar low Gothic language made Elpis think of a certain possibility.
At that moment, Elpis frowned slightly as he smelled blood. A group of people were gathered in the gas station, hunched over, staggering about, their faces rotting, only the whites of their eyes visible, blood dripping from wounds all over their bodies.
Was it the corruption of a loving father? Or some deadly unknown virus? Elpis did not sense any putrid smell in the air.
Elpis dared not be careless and quickly grabbed one of the people to examine him closely.
It was an ordinary mortal, whose head was grabbed by Elpis and he was lifted into the air, his legs swinging limply, his hands grabbing erratically in front of him, and his throat emitting roars, completely devoid of consciousness.
"Zombie," an ancient word appeared in Elpis's mind, a word that frequently appeared in movies and games in his previous life.
Elpis squeezed the zombie's head with a slight pressure, then drew the combat dagger from his waist and, with a few quick movements, dealt with all the zombies in the gas station.
Then, Elpis bent down and went into the gas station store. Seeing the food on the shelves and the Coca-Cola in the beverage cabinet, he fell silent.
Elpis carefully picked up a can of Coca-Cola, squeezed it between his fingers, and "pop," it made that familiar sound. Elpis took off his helmet, tilted his head back, and drank the Coke in one gulp.
"Unfortunately, there's no ice." Elpis shook his head slightly, tossed the empty bottle aside, and put on his helmet.
After Elpis finished tidying up his equipment, he walked outside. Along the way, he saw a person lying on the ground with a deep bite mark on his neck.
As Elpis examined the corpse, he suddenly mutated, slowly sitting up and attempting to attack the only living person. Elpis crushed his head with a single kick.
Although Elpis wasn't a biological expert, based on his simple observations, these zombies were even weaker than a mortal from an ordinary planetary nesting area of the Empire. After all, ordinary people in the interstellar travel era were definitely stronger than ordinary people still struggling on their home planet.
However, its regenerative and infectious capabilities are somewhat valuable for reference. If the original viral fluid can be found, it could be brought to the Martian biological sages for research, which might improve the Empire's biotechnology knowledge.
Elpis searched the gas station but couldn't find a computer or any other device that could connect to the internet. However, he discovered something unusual.
It was an identification card with a slightly familiar photo of a man: a youthful face, dark brown hair, and the classic "parted" hairstyle. Next to it was his name: Leon S. Kennedy, trainee police officer at Raccoon City Police Department.
The last remaining memories of the game in my mind are now reflected in reality.
Elpis has very little memory of the Resident Evil storyline left, only knowing some names and the names of objects, and Leon Kennedy is one of the main characters who drives the plot in his memory.
So, having something to do in this world, Elpis devised a plan for himself.
He needs to find the original contents of the T-virus and other viruses, as well as the Red Queen, and copy all the scientific knowledge within them.
If possible, bring the Red Queen's motherboard back to Terra. As for whether it is an Abomination, Elpis thinks the Red Queen's abilities are not that strong yet. Besides, who says there aren't Abominations in the underground palace?
He never imagined he would not only transmigrate into the Warhammer world, but also into the Resident Evil world. Was this the Emperor's power, or his own innate talent? Elpis stared at the Spear of Luna in his hand, speechless.
Elpis looked around and found tire tracks leading out of the gas station. After deducing the situation, he concluded that two people had been attacked by zombies at the gas station and then drove away. If he wasn't mistaken, it was Leon and Claire, another protagonist from Resident Evil. It seemed that the earlier gunshots were caused by them.
Following the direction of the tire tracks, there was only one road, which seemed to be the way into the city.
Elpis found a pickup truck at a gas station, salvaged some parts from other cars, and quickly modified it into a vehicle suitable for his own use.
From the outside, it still looks like a small truck, but the cab inside has been hollowed out, and the accelerator, brake and steering wheel have been replaced by a few buttons for Elpis to operate.
It's less of a car and more of a metal box with an engine and tires.
Elpis then climbed in, pressed a button, started the Imperial Guard-certified pickup truck, and drove towards Raccoon City.
