Warhammer: Starting with Industrial Revolution

Chapter 102: The Eve of the Storm

Three days is of utmost urgency.

Ronin immediately sought out Bishop Moraes.

"Lord Ronin is going to send troops to rescue the people of Caron II?" Upon hearing Ronin's plan, Moras's cloudy eyes instantly lit up, bursting with a fervent light.

In this dark age where everyone is in danger and only cares about protecting themselves, there are still people who are willing to step into the flames of war for the people of a neighboring planet.

Even if Luo Ning's initial intention was more about mutual dependence, this sense of responsibility was enough to earn his deepest respect.

Luo Ning nodded.

Moras patted him heavily on the shoulder, his voice trembling slightly with excitement: "You are indeed no ordinary person. The Valtok Starfield, and indeed the entire Empire, should be proud to have someone like you."

He turned and strode out of the room, shouting loudly to the assistant priest waiting outside:

"Pass on my orders! All battle nuns, assistant priests, and novice monks, assemble immediately! Lord Ronin is here to save the fallen Caron II for the Emperor! This is an unparalleled feat! Our state church will fight alongside Lord Ronin!"

When he returned, his face was filled with solemnity.

"Lord Ronin, the Emperor's glory will be with you. Every soldier in your army will receive a divine blessing. Twenty battle nuns are all under your command. They will become your sword, burning away all heresy and evil with holy flames."

Luo Ning bowed deeply, his heart filled with gratitude.

After saying goodbye to Morath, Rhonin rushed to the Dome Base and found Victor.

After hearing his decision, Victor said nothing.

They immediately mobilized all available mechanical priests and workers and rushed into the repair workshop.

The ear-piercing sounds of welding and the roar of machinery instantly filled the air as the Leman Rustank and Chimera troop carriers, damaged in the last battle, were towed onto the repair platform one by one.

Luo Ning watched his busy figure and couldn't help but smile.

Viktor is always like this.

Calm and collected, taciturn, yet always his most reliable support.

He was about to turn and leave when Viktor suddenly stopped what he was doing and asked, "How many troops are you planning to send this time?"

"Including reserves, 200,000 infantry, plus all armored units."

"What are the specific details of Charon 2? Have any other nearby planets been invaded?"

"Currently, only we and Caron II have encountered the Orks. There are no fewer than 100,000 Orks there, and the local garrison is almost at its breaking point."

Viktor nodded slowly, the red light of his optical prosthetic eye flickering slightly, but his expression was somewhat grave.

"Bishop Moraes will send battle nuns to support me, so you can rest assured," Ronin added, looking at Victor's expression.

But Victor simply said in a low voice, "No matter how much a mortal's body is strengthened, it is still just flesh and blood, and humanity has its limits."

He spoke as he walked away, seemingly lost in thought, as if he hadn't said anything at all.

Luo Ning smiled helplessly.

Viktor is always like that; he only tells half the story, leaving the rest to be guessed.

However, he had long been used to his eccentric manner.

Afterwards, Ronin found Garan and finalized the battle plan and troop deployment with him.

However, over the next two days, Luo Ning did not order intensified training. Instead, he used these two days to arrange a large-scale rotation rest for the entire army.

He told the soldiers to go home and spend time with their parents, spouses, and children.

Even just getting a good night's sleep, eating a hot meal, and relaxing your tense nerves.

Luo Ning was not worried that the soldiers would lose morale because of the rest.

Instead, he wanted them to remember firmly why they were fighting to the death.

The streets and alleys of Chaodu were filled with soldiers in military uniforms.

They held their child's hand, put their arm around their partner's shoulder, and wore rare smiles on their faces.

Some people wrote their suicide notes at the dinner table, while others took a final group photo with their families.

Some people simply sit quietly, watching the scenery outside the window.

There were no tears of separation or death, only silent appreciation.

On the morning of the third day, the transport fleet supported by the sector finally arrived at Vatos VII's port.

The ships were dilapidated, their hulls riddled with bullet holes and rust, clearly hastily assembled and barely functioning.

Even so, this was all that Mason could offer.

Luo Ning stood at the highest point of the reviewing stand, looking down at the 200,000 troops assembled below.

The dark crowd stretched as far as the eye could see, yet it was so quiet that the only sound was the wind rustling through the flags.

The soldiers wore brand-new uniforms, held gleaming weapons, and had firm and calm eyes.

"Soldiers!" Ronin's voice came clearly through the loudspeaker to everyone's ears.

"As you all know, we are about to deploy troops to Caron II to fight those green monsters."

"I gave you all the time off these past two days. I told you to spend time with your families, to rest, and to adjust your mindset. I heard that some people wrote suicide notes, and some were reluctant to leave. But I think you misunderstood me."

Luo Ning's voice paused, then became incredibly firm:

"Those of us who fought in the old mine know that our fighting strength is far greater than we imagined! This time, we're not going to Karon II to die, but to kill the enemy! To kill those monsters who dare to threaten our home!"

"During these two days of holiday, I want you to remember this well: behind you are your parents, your children, and everything you love! Every second you fight bravely is to protect them! Every second you fight is to protect Vatos VII!"

"Now! Tell me! Are you ready?!"

"Ready!!!" the soldiers responded in unison.

"Roar! Howl! Let those damned greens know just how terrifying humans are!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

A deafening roar echoed through the sky, soaring to the heavens.

Two hundred thousand soldiers simultaneously brandished their weapons, their eyes burning with fierce fighting spirit.

Luo Ning swung his arm sharply: "Soldiers! Board the ship! Let's slaughter those greenskins!"

The soldiers began to board the transport ship in an orderly manner.

The heavy footsteps, the roar of tanks, and the howling of ship engines intertwined to form a tragic war song.

Just then, Victor found Ronin.

"The Mechanical Church's three hundred friars and twelve priests have boarded the scientific research vessel." He remained as calm as ever. "All heavy weapons have been tested and are ready to provide support at any time."

Luo Ning looked at him and smiled.

Viktor was indeed the most reliable person, and once again, he bowed deeply to Viktor.

The fleet slowly sailed away from the airport and flew towards the direction of the Caron II.

Luo Ning stood on the flagship's bridge, watching the Vatos VII gradually shrink outside the window, his eyes filled with unwavering determination.

From the day he transmigrated into this dark universe, he knew clearly that such a comfortable life could never last.

War is everywhere, and crisis is always lurking.

So he devoted all his efforts to developing industry, training the army, and building bases, just so that this planet could have a better chance of survival amidst the flames of war.

Now, the flames of war from Caron II have reached our doorstep.

If the greenhorn manages to gain a foothold there, all his previous efforts will be in vain.

What he could do, and what he had to do, was to completely eradicate this green plague before it spread.

"Adjust course and proceed at full speed," Luo Ning ordered into the communicator.

The gears of war have begun to turn.
