Warhammer: Starting with Industrial Revolution

Chapter 129: If you want something, destroy it first.

Inside the Governor's dungeon, Edward opened his eyes in a daze. The dull pain in his chest made it difficult for him to breathe, and his face was also numb with pain.

He struggled to sit up, leaned against the wall, and realized that the other boys who were usually locked up with him had not yet been brought back.

Thinking about what I've been through these past few days, I feel like the sky has fallen.

Hana, Hana's childhood sweetheart, was kidnapped by a man who was like a devil and trained to be someone she no longer recognized, and she was powerless to stop it.

He tried to resist, but all he received was endless humiliation.

Whether it was fighting desperately, launching sneak attacks, or resorting to underhanded tactics, all of it seemed as laughable as children playing around in front of that man named Luo Ning.

The opponent never even tried to kill him, yet he had already beaten him into an extremely sorry state.

What exactly does he want? He beats himself over and over again, asking himself why he can't beat him.

Ed racked his brains but couldn't find the answer.

My thoughts were churning, and my vision gradually blurred.

There was no one else in the dungeon. This stubborn boy, who had been defiant his whole life, finally shed all his pretenses.

But there were guards outside, so even though he cried, he didn't utter a sound.

Each sob brought with it a sharp, suffocating pain deep in his chest, a constant reminder of his insignificance and powerlessness.

"grown ups!"

The guards' voices came from outside the door. Edward quickly composed himself; he knew that the devil had arrived.

"Open the door." Luo Ning's words were as concise as ever.

Suppressing the pain, he stood up by the wall and hid in a blind spot by the cell door.

The moment the door opened, Edward lunged forward.

But the next second, a tremendous force struck his stomach, and with intense pain, he was sent flying like a ball.

Edward, who was lying against the wall, mustered his strength to avoid fainting again.

But he was already covered in wounds, and once again he was unable to breathe deeply, each breath accompanied by excruciating pain.

"More energetic than I expected." Ronin looked at Edward, grinned mischievously, and squatted down in front of him.

Edward raised his head, his eyes filled with murderous intent as he looked at Ronin, but he was powerless to do anything about it.

Now, even raising his arm is a luxury for him.

"Do you hate me?" Luo Ning asked calmly.

Edward looked at him, his murderous intent undiminished, but he did not answer.

"Do you like Hanna?" Ronin asked.

The boy's lips trembled violently as he gritted his teeth and said, "You demon have no right to mention her name."

"Haha, you're hilarious." Luo Ning laughed mockingly. "I'm not qualified? Then who is? You?"

Edward did not reply to Ronin's words.

Because he knew very well that what Luo Ning said was not a question, but a blatant sarcasm.

"You like Hannah, right? She's mine now, and she'll obey any order I give her." Ronin's words were like knives, piercing Edward's heart, but the mocking smile on his face didn't diminish for a second.

"If you beg me, I can order her to spend the night with you. She can do everything! Although her skills are still a bit raw, she's very proactive and learns very quickly."

"Ah!!!" Edward suddenly sprang up, using his last bit of strength to lunge at Ronin, but was easily pinned to the ground by the latter.

He finally couldn't hold back any longer, and mouthfuls of blood gushed from his mouth and nose.

"Let me go! You bastard! I'm going to kill you."

Feeling the intense pain in his head from the pressure and the coldness from the floor, the stubborn boy finally broke down and cried out.

Her voice trembled, her body struggled in vain, but all that remained was helplessness.

Luo Ning released his hand from the boy's head and watched quietly as the boy got up.

The boy's eyes had lost their light.

As a slave, the only light in his life had always been his childhood sweetheart, Hannah.

And now, her only faith has been defiled by the man in front of her.

He didn't want to believe the devil's words, but he saw it with his own eyes: Hana sitting in Ronin's lap, looking like someone he no longer recognized.

Now, he feels that life has lost all meaning, and every second is filled with despair.

Living meant only endless humiliation and torment. He wished the demon in front of him would kill him immediately, or that he would take care of himself after the demon left, just for a quick end.

"How about I give you a chance to get revenge?"

Just then, Luo Ning's voice suddenly rang out.

Ed looked up abruptly, his face filled with disbelief, thinking he was hallucinating.

"Do you remember the question I asked you? Why can't you beat me?" Luo Ning continued to ask.

Edward looked at the man in front of him, the question echoing in his mind.

Why?

"Because I'm not as fast as you, not as strong as you, not as calm as you, and I'm also quite foolish."

Edward answered slowly, not even knowing why he was answering the question, as if his mouth had spoken out of his own accord.

"That's true, and that's not true either."

Luo Ning shook his head and slowly said, "Are you really not as fast as me? Not necessarily. Are you really not as strong as me? That's for sure. Are you not as calm as me? Yes. Are you stupid? You're incredibly stupid."

Hearing Ronin's words, Edward couldn't stop her tears from flowing.

He was just a teenager who had been stripped of everything, lost the light in his life, and now he had to endure such humiliation.

Luo Ning looked at him, but continued, "But the reason for all of this can be summed up in one thing: the difference in combat experience. You haven't received specialized training, nor have you ever faced life-or-death situations. That's all, it's that simple."

"I can give you a chance, a chance to get revenge and protect the girl you love. How about it? Want to try?"

Hearing Ronin's words, Edward looked at him, and his eyes, which had been ashen with despair, finally lit up again. Although he was still confused, it was clear that he had found a new purpose in life.

"What do you want me to do?" he asked, taking a deep breath.

Luo Ning smiled and said, "I want you to become stronger, stronger than anyone else. You think I'm powerful? No, I'm not powerful at all, nor am I some kind of monster. There are countless people in this world stronger than me, you just haven't met them yet."

"I can provide you with top-notch training, the best enhancement drugs, and even personally teach you the strongest combat techniques. My only requirement is that you become strong enough to control your own destiny."
