Warhammer: Starting with Industrial Revolution
Chapter 90: All Arranged
"This is Father Victor of the Mechanicus, the absolute authority of the Mechanicus on this planet. From today onwards, you will be working under him."
Luo Ning walked to the front of everyone, his voice carrying clearly throughout the entire factory.
"Remember, here you must absolutely obey Father Victor's orders. He will teach you a craft that can change your lives, a sacred technique from the Golden Age."
Upon hearing Luo Ning's words, the workers immediately bowed deeply to Viktor in unison.
Victor didn't say anything, but simply turned and walked deeper into the factory.
With a light touch of his mechanical prosthetic finger on the control panel on the wall, the previously dimly lit factory was instantly illuminated.
The cold robotic arm moved nimbly along the track, emitting a regular hum.
On the conveyor belt, precision parts flowed rapidly.
The enormous forging furnace emitted a dark red light. Throughout the entire factory, there wasn't a single superfluous worker in sight; only countless machine tools were working methodically.
The workers were once again stunned by this industrial miracle that exceeded their understanding.
The most advanced machines they had ever seen in their lives were nothing more than those old, outdated machine tools in mid-level factories that had been used for hundreds of years and were prone to breaking down.
They never imagined that a factory could be like this.
There was no deafening noise, no flying iron filings, and no foreman with a whip; only cold, precise machinery, tirelessly running.
Victor stopped and turned around. The red light from his optical prosthetic eye swept across the faces of each worker, and a mechanical voice slowly rose:
"From this day forward, you are followers of the God of Machines, and servants of the Machine Soul."
"I will teach you to read the language of the machine spirits and to take care of these sacred machines."
"Remember, here, any mistake is a desecration of the machine spirit."
His voice was devoid of warmth, yet it made all the workers straighten their backs, their eyes filled with awe and anticipation.
For the next hour, Viktor did not give a lecture. Instead, he had all the workers disperse and freely observe each production line in the factory.
He stood still, the red light of his prosthetic eye flashing continuously, silently recording everyone's reaction.
Some people marveled at the robotic arm, some carefully stroked the machine tool's casing, and others squatted on the ground, staring intently at the parts on the conveyor belt.
When a robotic arm made a soft, grinding sound, a gaunt old worker instinctively said, "The lubricant has dried up; if it keeps turning, it will wear down the gears."
As soon as he finished speaking, Viktor's gaze immediately fell on him.
The old worker trembled with fright and immediately lowered his head, not daring to speak.
But Victor did not blame him; he simply silently noted down his name.
After the observation, Viktor quickly completed the classification.
The 37 individuals with the strongest learning abilities and innate sensitivity to machinery were selected as formal apprentices of the Mechanical Church, and will follow him to learn core maintenance and debugging techniques in the future.
The remaining people were assigned to different production lines to be responsible for the final assembly of parts, quality inspection, and daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
No one objected.
Everyone knows that being able to stay here and learn these skills is already a great blessing.
Ronin did not disturb Viktor's teaching; he simply left the factory and returned to the central square.
Soon, hundreds of children, big and small, holding their mothers' hands, timidly gathered in the square.
Most of them were pale and thin, with a hint of unease in their eyes, but looking at the heavenly scene around them, they couldn't help but look around curiously.
"These children are in your care," Ronin said, bowing slightly to Father Moraes. "From today onward, they will study the doctrines of the state religion here, and learn to read and write."
Father Moraes looked at the innocent children before him, and a long-lost, heartfelt smile of satisfaction appeared on his face.
He gently stroked the head of a little girl, who curiously reached out and touched the imperial emblem on his chest. Father Moraes smiled gently, took off the emblem, and placed it in her little hand.
"Rest assured, Lord Ronin." His voice was slightly choked with emotion. "I will train them all to be the Emperor's most loyal followers, so that the Emperor's glory will forever shine upon this base."
He seemed to see it all: in the future, wave after wave of devout believers would emerge from this pure white church and become the backbone of this planet.
After settling the children in, Luo Ning turned to the mothers who were standing to the side, looking somewhat at a loss.
Currently, the Dome Base is completely lacking in basic logistics personnel, and these women will become the base's first batch of logistics workers.
Luo Ning simply divided the work area, brought in cleaning tools from the warehouse, and handed over the cleaning work of the entire public area on the first basement floor to them.
He stood in the center of the square, silently observing the group's actions.
Some people stood there helplessly, not knowing where to start; some picked up brooms and got to work; and a small number of people did not rush to work, but instead gathered the people around them, began to divide the area and assign tasks, and started to organize in an orderly manner.
Luo Ning's gaze immediately locked onto them; there were sixteen people in total.
These people are natural-born managers.
We can't let them only do basic cleaning work, wasting their talent.
He beckoned them over one by one. The sixteen women stood awkwardly in front of Luo Ning, heads bowed, not daring to look at him. One of the youngest female workers was so nervous that her fingers were trembling slightly.
"Don't be nervous." Luo Ning's tone softened considerably. "I called you here because I've seen your abilities. You know better than others how to organize and manage, so I'm going to assign you more important tasks."
He asked them a few simple questions to test their emergency response capabilities and management thinking.
The young female worker, who was trembling with nervousness, spoke haltingly, but her proposed work schedule and hygiene inspection standards were clear, logical, and well-considered.
Luo Ning immediately had a plan in mind.
Ten of them served as team leaders for the cleaning team, each leading a small group responsible for the sanitation of different areas.
The remaining six, including the young female worker, were responsible for receiving and distributing cleaning supplies, maintaining tools, and conducting daily work inspections and assessments.
After arranging everything, Luo Ning glanced at the time.
It's only been three hours since the workers arrived this morning.
All 419 families, nearly 1,200 people, have found their own jobs and homes.
Children went into the church, workers went into the factory, and women picked up their tools.
The once empty and silent dome base was now filled with the sounds of people and the warmth of daily life for the first time.
Luo Ning stood in the center of the square, looking at everything before him.
The laughter of children, the hum of machinery in the factory, and the chatter of women cleaning up all blended together to create a hopeful melody.
He looked up at the holographic sky above him, where a few white clouds drifted slowly across the azure sky.
Who would have thought that such a place would be born beneath this deadly forest, within the ruins of this golden age that has slumbered for millennia?
