Chapter 26 Corpse

In the quiet place, darkness is descending.

Standing silently in place, Adir felt a chill creep into his heart.

Through the crack in the door, his excellent view allowed him to clearly see what the thing on the other side looked like.

It was a pale, humanoid monster with a woman's face, but its complexion was extremely pale, like a corpse.

Outside the door, a knocking sound gradually rose, sounding particularly clear in this quiet place.

Of the three, the woman stared at the constantly shaking door, gritted her teeth, and spoke with deep fear in her eyes.

Beside him, seemingly resigned to his fate, the middle-aged man sighed, "The monster from upstairs has escaped."

"Three years have passed, and we all thought that corpse was completely dead. We never expected it to complete its transformation! Now it's been drawn down by our presence!"

Their eyes were filled with despair and fear, and they deeply understood the terror of the monster outside.

Unlike the mutated insects and beasts outside, which, though powerful, are still essentially made of flesh and blood, this one before us is truly bizarre and an existence that humans absolutely cannot defeat.

"Take two steps back!" The notification from the chip in my mind sounded again.

Adir leaped backward, narrowly dodging the attack, and then charged forward without hesitation.

A powerful force suddenly struck him, sending him flying.

On the other side, the corpse's head had been mostly severed by a longsword, with only a little flesh still attached.

Tiny granulation tissue continued to sprout, connecting with the skin and flesh on both sides. In just an instant, the horrific wound on the other person's neck healed completely, returning to its original state.

A figure quickly arrived, kicked the other person away, and slammed them into the wall behind him, creating a huge dent in the wall.

A hoarse growl came from the corpse's mouth. Its eyes were filled with resentment and venom. Despite the heavy blow, it seemed to be unaffected and immediately charged forward.
