Chapter 1132 Klang and San Francisco
Chapter 1132 Klang and San Francisco (Second Update)
After the new king ascended the throne and stabilized the Golden City, he immediately convened his first press conference for the people of Wakanda, in conjunction with the tribal council. Former Queen Ramonda was not mistreated, but house arrest was unavoidable. The agents of the War Dogs organization and Dora Mirajane, who had been arrested at the nuclear power plant and waterworks, were also imprisoned in a high-security jail. The official explanation was that Queen Ramonda was ill, and the new king, En Jadaka, was willing to relinquish the palace to allow the former queen to recuperate for an extended period. He also relocated his office to the lower-level tribal council to work alongside the newly established coordination department.
Meetings followed one after another. The residents of Wakanda in the Golden City witnessed large numbers of tribal nobles moving in and out of the palace, crowding together to swear allegiance to the new king. While it couldn't be ruled out that some of these nobles had sided with the former queen, Ramonda, contributing to the chaos in Wakanda, the new king, En Jadaka, had neither the energy nor the will to pursue such matters. His primary concern now was appeasing the people of Wakanda, rehabilitating his father and establishing legitimacy, and continuing the large-scale industrial expansion in cooperation with Latvinia during the T'Chaka era.
In that morning's conversation, the Latvinian Emperor told the new King En-Gadaka that the Wakandans didn't care whether T'Challa or he became Black Panther. In the hearts of the Wakandans, whoever became king wouldn't bring any change to Wakandans. Their powerful productivity and sparse population didn't need any change either, because Wakandans were already wealthy enough; any inclination towards a republic was nonexistent. As long as the social environment was stable, controlling the media would allow them to exonerate En-Job. The real trouble lay with the nobles who controlled production—because the succession gladiatorial combat was legal and compliant, the nobles couldn't openly oppose him. The new King En-Gadaka planned to feed the opposing nobles with benefits, using the profits from large-scale industry to draw them to his side, while simultaneously recruiting from the civilian army to establish a new warhound organization, secretly restraining the nobles.
This was the advice given by the Emperor of Latvian Latvia.
Although Njadaka grew up on the streets of America and severely lacked necessary political education, and focused on his STEM studies after entering MIT, this doesn't mean he didn't understand the significance of Latvinia's words. However, the Jabari tribe, the only ones unwilling to submit to the royal family, remained defiant. His fight with their chief, Mbaku, in the arena was merely a learning experience; he failed to grasp why the Jabari, unwilling to submit to the Golden Tribe, could exist. This led Njadaka to have no interest in provoking the northern tribes while his country was still unstable. This also caused the new king, who failed to eliminate the opposition in time, to miss an important piece of information.
"Mbaku has found my brother," Princess Surui said with delight to the intelligence agent accompanying the army. "He's alive, but his injuries are quite serious. I need someone to deliver the heart-shaped grass we brought over; research indicates that its extract is beneficial for wound healing."
"Where did this heart-shaped grass come from?" the agent asked. Intelligence indicated that this special plant only existed at the Temple of the Black Panther; it couldn't be grown or survive anywhere else. Even the Wakandan research department couldn't artificially interfere with its growth, not even with vibranium soil used to cultivate it in a replica of the Temple of the Black Panther. Samples of the heart-shaped grass hadn't been sent to the Immortal City for research, so the Immortal City's research department and the Martian foundry could only speculate that the grass's growth required supernatural intervention.
“Zuri gave it to us; he thought we might need it.” Princess Surui gave the name of the High Shaman of the Black Panther Temple. “Although he said it was an oracle from the Black Panther God, I think the High Shaman was just doing something extra.”
A few hours later, the intelligence was secretly passed to Emperor Latvinia in his palace room. Since the power struggle that led to his accession, Emperor Latvinia had remained secluded in his room, waiting for the political turmoil in the Golden City to settle down. Now, receiving a note secretly handed to him by a palace servant who brought him lunch, the royal family understood what was going on after a moment's thought.
“Bastet is still not satisfied,” the Emperor said to Hammurabi. “Either she can no longer endure the Sorcerer Supreme’s prohibition and wants to start consuming souls and flesh, or N’Jadaka hasn’t fully utilized the first Black Panther’s spiritual talents, which is why Bastet wants T’Challa to continue trying. However, it seems that the Heart-Shaped Grass has significantly improved N’Jadaka’s abilities; he even sensed my threat during our conversation. We need to consider the first possibility, Hammurabi. Contact the Temple and the Knights of the Inferno; we need to activate the contingency plan against Bastet. I need a special warhead delivered urgently; if necessary, I will destroy Wakanda.”
Hammurabi turned his head, glanced at the fortress-like combat robot by the door that was constantly running its detection program, then looked at the monarch in power armor and himself. "You're right," he nodded in agreement, "Ordinary people certainly wouldn't panic at being surrounded by two four-meter-tall combat robots and a three-meter-tall genetically modified warrior in power armor."
Emperor Latvia glared at Hammurabi. He stretched out his hand, and orange-red sparks began to flicker at his fingertips. "I'm going to see T'Challa," he said. "Inform me again after Princess Shuri delivers the heart-shaped herb."
"What? You're coming too? No, no, we don't have any low-altitude infiltration aircraft that can carry more people." The agent shook his head repeatedly. The situation in Wakanda prompted the Fire Knights to gradually escalate their war preparations. Seven hundred fully armed Fire Knights and their mechanized forces were fully capable of destroying a country. Even during Latvinia's first expansion war, only twelve hundred Fire Knights were deployed, demonstrating the Emperor's emphasis on Wakanda.
The intelligence agencies were well aware of this, so the intelligence group that arrived later went to great lengths to obtain all the information about Wakanda. This work went quite smoothly with the assistance of the Royal Guard and the War Dogs. However, what troubled Victoria Hand was that Princess Shuri, as a political bargaining chip, did not like to obey orders or hide secrets.
"The border tribes are heavily guarded now, and your War Dog agents are all here. We can't bring Princess Shuri to Klang Kasan quietly." The agent frowned as if he had eaten a lemon. "Moreover, if this information is a trap, Princess Shuri's life will be threatened, and we will lose the legitimacy to retake Wakanda."
"Isn't your boss in the City of Gold?" Nakia said. "You can ask him if this news is true or false."
"That's my superior, not my subordinate. Do you know what intelligence hierarchy means? I'm just a low-level agent; the Emperor has no need to communicate with me." The agent rolled his eyes. He was responsible for communicating with these Wakandans. Before this, he thought it was an easy job, but now he realized that the so-called royal family was just a bunch of arrogant and self-willed bastards. He wanted to remind the Wakandans that they were already defeated, but for the sake of Latvinia's relationship with Wakandans, and for Victoria Hand to tell everyone the true purpose of this operation, the agent held back his profanity.
"I will apply to my superiors, Ms. Nakia, but the outcome of such an application is predictable." The agent took a deep breath. "Please do not act without authorization. I reiterate, the intelligence department has no command authority over the Fire Knights. Unauthorized actions will be treated as hostile action and will result in being shot down. For our objectives and your lives, please obey our orders and advice, OK?"
"It's not a trap." Emperor Latvia spoke to Hammurabi, who remained at the palace, as he trudged through knee-deep snow. Ahead of him, several Jabari warriors, clad in furs and wielding weapons, were leading the way, attempting to threaten him with their weapons to prevent him from doing anything dangerous. "I didn't expect the Jabari to be so honest; they told me everything as soon as I stood at the door." The emperor was certain the Jabari warriors didn't understand Latin. "They even guided me and gave me hot drinks. These people are truly wonderful."
"My lord, don't you think this is because they believe they are confident they can subdue you?"
"I don't know, maybe they just think I'm a bit too big." The emperor smiled at the soldier who had turned back. "There might be another conflict later. But that's alright, I believe they'll soon learn how to talk properly."
Sorry, I slept in late on the weekend.
