Chapter 354 Look what you've been protecting! (First Update)

The Frost Giant's power was not to be underestimated, but Loki hadn't expected that his invincible dagger wouldn't cause Malekith any pain. Instead, red and black aether particles spread out like wings in the air, surrounding Loki.

"Fine, I'm done playing." Loki, caught red-handed by Malekith, vanished, leaving only a small, golden-green snake falling alongside the Dark Elf King. This snake was the product of Loki's transformation technique, yet Malekith immediately recognized the runic magic. Now immune to poison, he reached for the snake, but a warhammer, crackling with lightning, suddenly crashed down from the sky, slamming into him and sending him hurtling towards the Thames.

The small, golden-green snake opened its mouth wide, letting out a silent laugh. Then, a large hand gripped Loki tightly. His snake eyes widened instantly, exaggerated like something out of a children's cartoon, and he looked as if he almost vomited his guts out. The god of mischief bit his brother's arm in annoyance, but Thor didn't let go. Instead, he continued to drag Loki towards Malekith's landing spot, seemingly wanting to use Loki as a whip to lash out at his enemy.

Anyway, the Frost Giants are tough and thick-skinned, so Thor has no psychological burden about using Loki.

"Do you think Thor can win?" Queen Frigga opened a bottle of sweet wine from Salomon's collection, pouring a glass for the Sorcerer Supreme and herself. As for Salomon, the Sorcerer Supreme was still there; he had no right to drink in Midgard. After the topic of Hela ended, the Queen turned her attention to her son, observing the entire battle between Thor and Malekith through her silver water mirror.

For some reason, Queen Frigga seemed somewhat worried about Thor, because Malekith, who possessed the Aether, was the most powerful enemy Thor had faced since joining the army. Malekith, who had healing abilities that were almost equivalent to immortality, might even be defeated by Odin himself.

Only the Sorcerer Supreme, who could clearly foresee the future, could answer this question, yet he cruelly ignored it. Queen Frigga was also uncertain, because the Sorcerer Supreme had recently sent Salomon to confront Hela, indicating that Kamar-Taj had staked something on Hela, rather than fully supporting Thor. For Midgard, it didn't matter who the ruler of Asgard was; power was always gained through iron and blood—a lesson Thor lacked. If the new Asgardian ruler refused to acknowledge it, they could simply declare it again.

"I know you have a backup plan," Queen Frigga said bluntly. "You can't let the Dark Elves succeed. No one wants to see the Nine Realms return to their original darkness."

"My backup plan just had a fight with your daughter; you need to let him rest," the Sorcerer Supreme said, rolling his eyes and speaking with obvious disdain. "This is the price for solving your Aesir's family education problems. If Thor is injured, do you want me to bring him to you?"

"Thank you, but no need."

"Coulson!" Skye cried frantically, running around inside the Airbus. "There's a complete fight down there!"

"Calm down, Skye." Coulson remained confident, pointing to the holographic projection table in the conference room. Several call logs were displayed on the screen, one of which prominently featured Nick Fury's name. "Agent May and Agent Grant have already taken down those dark elf soldiers in Quinjet fighters. Dr. Eric Saviger has also submitted a sample, and Fitz and Simmons are busy making a replica."

"But what's the use of that?" The SHIELD intern agent scratched his head in frustration. "Thor and that dark elf started fighting and wreaked havoc everywhere. The battle isn't just confined to Greenwich University! We should evacuate all of London! I can issue a citywide alert using SHIELD's authority! And where's Salomon? I remember now, that guy disappeared not long after the war started, and he even tampered with my memories!"

"I can't get through to him, and I doubt he's even home in New York," Agent Coulson lamented. It seemed Thor and the Dark Elves were evenly matched, and the two were like monstrous creatures wreaking havoc, destroying countless public structures. He could only be thankful that the alien invasion was small-scale; otherwise, another nuclear attack like the one during the Battle of New York would have been necessary.

"And we can't evacuate all of London either," Agent Coulson said with a helpless expression. "They'll be stuck in traffic on the roads."

"What about the other Avengers? Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk. Oh, let's forget about Hulk..."

"A wise choice. In fact, only the chief knows where they are, and they're quite far from here."

"We still need Salomon Damonette," Skye said bitterly, making a tearing motion. "I'm going to rip him to shreds the moment he opens the portal! How dare he touch my memories!"

Memory. The word stirred Coulson's memories of Tahiti, and he vaguely sensed something was amiss, but he didn't voice it. He was a dutiful agent; the mission was paramount. He still needed to instruct Agent May and Agent Grand to use the Quinjet's maneuverability to evade the suddenly appearing portals!

He also needed to communicate with the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force, as well as maintain contact with Dr. Eric Scharvig and Jane Foster to determine the extent of the damage from the battle. He also had to prepare arrangements for battlefield cleanup and biological and chemical protection.

"You can issue an alert, but I think it's a bit redundant. Aliens have been seen all over London now." Coulson tried to dismiss Skye. "Go do what you're supposed to do, remind people to stay home."

"So it's possible they deliberately came out to watch aliens; there are always more idiots in this world."

"Are you talking about yourself, Skye? I haven't forgotten who ran to the explosion site to watch (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 1 Episode 1)." Coulson joked.

"You're right, there are always more idiots in the world." Salomon, who was sitting on the sofa, suddenly spoke up, startling the agents. Agent Coulson almost drew his gun.

"When did you get here?" Agent Coulson holstered his pistol and asked, surprised, looking at the pale-faced Salomon. "And you look terrible. What happened?"

"Ten minutes ago. My family ran out of wine, so I came over to drink some of your vintage because my wound really hurts." Salomon swirled the wine in his hand. "I didn't let you notice me; I've been sitting here the whole time. As for my complexion... Malekith really went all out. If possible, please have Simmons stitch me up. Don't look at me like that, little girl; magic comes at a price. My liver has only recently healed; any more and it won't do."

“I’ll do it,” Skye laughed. “I know where the first-aid kit is.”
