Chapter 411 You should be afraid of me

Chapter 411 You Should Be Afraid of Me (Second Update)

Lorelei once visited Earth and left behind legends, the so-called Daughter of the Rhine, a woman who could summon her lover with her song, similar to a water nymph. However, at that time, all the water nymphs on Earth had already entered Avalon and none remained in the world.

This witch possesses spells and potions related to love, and thus she successfully seduced Thor in the past—when they were still children, Sif already knew she would be the future princess. So when she saw Thor and Lorelei kissing in the garden, she rushed up and punched both of them to the ground.

From that moment on, Sif resolved to become a warrior.

Actually, this was Loki's prank; he invited Lorelei to the Golden Palace so she could meet Thor. Sif's appearance was coincidental; she had been summoned by Frigga, the Queen of the Goddess, to the garden to prepare flowers for the evening banquet.

When they were all grown up, Lorelei seduced Thor again. But this time it wasn't out of Lorelei's own will, but at Loki's behest. Even though she was tired of Thor, she still agreed to the plan. At the same time, she also cast a spell on Loki's artifact, so that Loki would fall in love with her whenever he picked up the staff, intending to destroy Loki with his emotions.

Lorelei's plan succeeded for a time, until Queen Frigga lifted the spell Lorelei had cast on Loki and Thor.

This witch, who mingled between Thor and Loki, causing chaos in other kingdoms, was imprisoned in the dungeons.

"Don't let her kiss you." As they got into the S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicle, Sif continued to tirelessly warn Salomon. Neither the dust billowing outside the window nor the roar of the engine could drown out her serious tone. "There was once a man who tried to kiss Lorelei, and he turned to stone. Don't be bewitched by that witch; she's Amora's sister, and her magical powers are not to be underestimated. Salomon, if you are tempted, I won't show you any mercy."

"Don't worry." Salomon nodded, indicating that he had taken Sif's advice to heart.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. convoy pulled up in front of a run-down bar in the Nevada desert. Sif eagerly stepped out. She drew her longsword from her back and surveyed the dust-covered landscape. "She loves palaces and castles," Sif clicked her tongue. "This is far more shabby than her usual lodgings."

"It's not the place that attracts her, but the people inside," Grant Ward said. According to intelligence, the Hellhounds biker club is a gathering place for local bikers and gunmen, and the local gangs have become Lorelei's servants, having attacked jewelry stores and gun shops.

When the S.H.I.E.L.D. convoy arrived, two local police officers carrying shotguns were already waiting there.

"How many people are she controlling inside?" Agent Coulson walked over and asked the police officer, "Have you seen the suspect?"

"I saw her, she's really beautiful." The chubby policeman didn't hesitate to raise his shotgun and fire at Agent Coulson. Agent Coulson quickly rolled on the ground, and when he stood up again, he saw steel balls fired from the shotgun floating in the air. The local police, now under control, took cover behind their vehicles and fired at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who could only retaliate with Fitz's newly developed non-lethal pistol.

Salomon stood boldly in front of the exposed car, bullets that came near him being deflected and bounced aimlessly in all directions. Sif, shield in hand, followed behind Salomon with her armored android maid, heading towards the bar's front door.

"Help me!" Agent Coulson, hiding behind the car, shouted. The gunfire immediately ceased. When the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents peeked out from their cover, they found the two police officers and the bikers who had fled the bar all tightly bound with metal rings, while Salomon and his men had already stormed inside the bar.

"Lorelei, you're still manipulating men to do bad things for you?" Sif spotted Lorelei surrounded by a group of motorcycle enthusiasts in leather jackets at a glance.

"You're always just a step or two short." Lorelei pushed aside the bikers and stepped out. The Asgardian woman with long, orange-red hair mocked Sif in a soft tone, while simultaneously giving Salomon a flirtatious wink. Salomon readily accepted, leaving Sif hesitant—she didn't know whether to take Salomon down right now.

"She's really beautiful," Salomon said with a laugh, "but I have a girlfriend, sorry."

"Why not abandon her?" Lorelei blinked her innocent eyes, her moist gaze and feather-light words sending an irresistible shiver down one's spine. Salomon simply smiled, ignoring the burly men who had surrounded them menacingly, and walked to the bar to pour himself a beer.

"You know what the outcome will be, Lorelei. You'll come with me willingly..."

"Do you mistakenly believe I'm afraid of you? I defeated you before. Have you forgotten?" Lorelei mocked again.

"You should be afraid of her." Salomon took a deep breath, set down his glass, and waved for the homunculus maid to prepare for battle. Pointing to a woman's corpse behind the bar, Salomon said, "You should also be afraid of me, for you have taken the life of one of the Sorcerer Supreme's subjects. Dinah, kill her!"

"No! My order is..."

The android maid drew her gun with a speed imperceptible to the naked eye, and a deafening gunshot rang out. The bullet, with an initial velocity exceeding 1000 meters per second, was ejected from the barrel accompanied by burning high-pressure gas, and then exploded with a roar of secondary ignition. When the bullet struck Lorelei's chest, the high explosives packed into the bullet detonated again, a force that even an Asgardian could not withstand.

This explosive gun is a rapid-fire weapon; the android maid fired three bullets in succession.

Lorelei smashed through the bar wall, and the lured bikers pounced the instant Diana fired. Salomon dodged, grabbing the biker wearing a black beanie by the back of the neck as he lunged at him. He slammed the guy's head against the bar counter, then tossed the stunned idiot toward the guy holding a shotgun a short distance away.

Sif rammed into the breached bar wall, knowing that even an Asgardian wouldn't be in good shape after being shot like that. And indeed, as she passed through the wall, she saw Lorelei, unarmored and covered in dust, lying on the ground, blood gushing from her mouth. She was muttering incoherent incantations, trying to heal the internal bleeding in her chest and abdomen.

She wasn't of superior Aesir blood; Thor might be able to withstand a magazine of bullets without getting a scratch, but she couldn't.

All Sif wants now is to save Lorelei's life.

The android maid received no orders to hold back. She drew her longsword and slashed at the bikers who were raising their guns to shoot Salomon. Gunfire and flashing swords instantly filled the small bar. Agent Coulson and his team rushed in, only to find bodies ripped in two by bullets, tables, chairs, and weapons shattered by swords, thick blood and foul-smelling pieces of entrails covering every inch of the wooden floor. The android maid, bathed in blood, stood amidst the corpses like a demon from hell.

Only a lucky few are still alive, but they don't look like they'll live much longer.

"Where is Salomon?" Agent Coulson asked, gripping his gun as he weighed whether to shoot the android maid.

The android maid pointed to the gap in the wall. Before Agent Coulson could reach it, the blaster fired again, followed by Sif's roar, and then a flash of light and the sound of clashing swords.

"What happened?" Agent Coulson thought for a moment, then slowed his pace and asked the android maid. After quickly understanding what had happened, he immediately felt that this matter was somewhat troublesome.

Because Salomon wants Lorelei to die here, it's now a conflict between superhumans. How is S.H.I.E.L.D. going to get involved?
