Chapter 413 War God Grim Raider, the Third Great God

Chapter 413 War God Grim, the Third Great God (Second Update)

Agent Coulson struggled to recall the scene.

it's dark.

That was my only thought at the time. The sky was unnaturally dark, as if all the dark clouds had rapidly converged from the horizon. Even the scorching sun of the Nevada desert couldn't penetrate the thick clouds. Without sunlight, the yellow sand turned grayish-black, and the temperature plummeted with a terrifying whisper.

Salem! The name of that place, piercing my heart, still flashes through my mind. I still remember everything I saw in that eerie place; sometimes I dream of it, of rats with human faces crawling out of the walls and gnawing at my flesh. I dream of rubbery monsters, drooling with foul saliva, wielding filthy claws as they hunt the living through the jungle.

Agent Coulson thought such dreams would fade with time, but the scene before him now stirred his memories once more. An impenetrable darkness enveloped the area, and Agent Coulson heard a sinister laugh emanating from it, as if prey had once again fallen into a dark snare—"I remember that laugh, the laugh of a gigantic monster with eight arthropods and several black, leathery tentacles splitting from its head"—after confirming that Agent Maria Hill had access to the files on the Salem incident, Agent Coulson struggled to utter these words.

[Agent Phil Coulson's mental state is concerning; increased surveillance is recommended. Note: None of the other agents present heard the "whisper in the dark"; additional psychiatrists are recommended.]

"And then?" Maria Hill continued to ask after writing this sentence.

"Then..." Agent Coulson seemed to snap out of his daze, "I saw the clouds pile up into the shape of a human face, and then a silent roar and a violent storm swept across the desert, the swirling sand flying like bullets as it accelerated. My team and I had to take cover in the vehicle, fleeing the darkness-shrouded ruins amidst increasingly sharp crashes. But I still got up and looked out the window—I saw blinding flashes of light within the dark clouds, the shadows of giant trees looming behind the clouds, and that human face roaring. He was roaring, he was declaring!"

[Note: This paragraph is true. Inspection revealed that all S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicles showed signs of impact, and the residue samples were found to be local Nevada gravel and soil.]

"Then, a bolt of lightning struck us from the sky, incredibly close, and a silver arrow of fire collided with it from below." Agent Coulson picked up his water glass, took a sip, and continued describing the incredibly shocking scene. "The thunder exploded behind us, and in an instant, a stinging sensation swept through our bodies. We felt our heartbeats replaced by the roar of the thunder; we couldn't breathe, couldn't move, couldn't even think. We couldn't hear anything. After a while, the agents in the car began to speak. By then, the car had already driven some distance."

[Note: This paragraph is true. Numerous electrical charges and lightning strike marks remain at the scene of the incident, and spectral signatures similar to those found at Thor's hammer, as well as another previously unrecorded spectrum, have been detected. Preliminary assessment suggests it was caused by Salomon Damonette's magic, and professional safety procedures are recommended before further investigation.]

"Then the chill disappeared, the sky cleared, and the wind gradually subsided." Agent Coulson's tone lightened with the change in weather. "Melinda May and I decided to go back to the bar to check things out. But we saw nothing but ruins—neither Salomon nor his maid, nor Sif. And most importantly, when we entered the bar, we found that the bodies that should have been there were gone. All the bodies were gone, even the Cerberus biker gang members we couldn't rescue, still barely alive. The blood-soaked wooden floors were now clean, and when I went in, I could smell cheap whiskey and cigarettes—Melinda May can testify to that. I immediately reported to headquarters, and then you arrived..."

"Thank you for your cooperation, Phil Coulson," Agent Maria Hill wrote the last few lines. She closed the folder and then reached out to turn off the recording equipment lying beside her.

Agent Coulson shrugged, indicating that he didn't quite understand.

"The director will personally handle the follow-up to this matter. You just need to continue investigating that 'clairvoyant'," Agent Maria Hill said expressionlessly. "Although the director is very busy right now, I think he still has time to make a phone call."

Salomon ignored the incessantly vibrating phone, especially when the number displayed was Nick Fury.

"hiss--"

A sharp pain shot through his scalp, causing him to gasp. The sudden tightening of his scalp was quite unpleasant. "That old man Wotan showed no mercy!" he couldn't help but complain to Joan of Arc, who was combing his slightly charred hair. But even in his complaint, he didn't mention Odin's real name, lest the Allfather hear him. "I wasn't really going to do anything to his daughter-in-law! I just wanted to scare Sif and then take her to see the One-Eyed Old Man once she behaved herself! But Sif's prayers made me feel threatened, and fate told me what was about to happen."

"Is this why you were electrocuted like this?" Joan chuckled, picked up the scissors, and cut off the matted long hair.

"Hmm, I'm wary of Grimm turning against me, so I've used the darkest of powers to fight him." Salomon touched the silver key on his chest. "I need to talk to that old man. The times are about to change; the relationship between Midgard and Asgard won't remain static. The prophecy of Ragnarok forever hangs over the Aesir; in the future, humanity will be the masters of the Prime Material Plane. The covenant doesn't require the Aesir to submit to humanity; all I need is time..."

"You aspire to be the new King of the Gods?" Joan of Arc cut a lock of her long hair. "What does the Sorcerer Supreme think?"

"As long as the outer dimensions cannot affect the material plane, Kamar-Taj's work is done. However, the future Sorcerer Supreme will not be as powerful as His Holiness, so attacking the outer dimensions from the material plane, or even launching an offensive against the outer dimensions, is also an option."

"And what about her?"

"I threw her back to Asgard," Salomon sneered. "If I hadn't blocked the attackers' power, Sif might have been injured. Heimdall had no objections; he even completed the necessary cross-border procedures for Kamar-Taj."

"That's not what I'm asking." Joan of Arc tossed her hair in front of Salomon. "I'm talking about that witch. I have some of your hair in my hands. If you don't want to be cursed, answer truthfully at the end: did you have something happen with that witch?"

"What?" Salomon's eyes widened. "Don't you dare accuse me of this without evidence!"

"Then tell me about the red-soled high heels you gave that female spy? I even saw her rubbing against you with her stockinged feet! And that female archaeologist! You even gave her a dagger! And that Darcy, the one with the big breasts, how do you explain that?" Joan of Arc laughed very happily.

"I promise I didn't..."

"Really? Then tell me about Maya Hansen. Why does she press herself so naturally against you when she's wearing underwear? And why does your android maid have all the functions of a human woman?"

"I……"

"And Hela! That powerful Asgardian woman, are you going to side with her?"

"I promise……"

"Where is that witch? I'm going to kill her." Joan of Arc smiled cunningly. "Or are you reluctant to do it?"

"Alright, I admit it, I took Lorelei into custody." Salomon raised his hands in surrender. "But I swear, I didn't have any wicked intentions! I just wanted to get some Asgardian secret technology from her, and incidentally, to make her submit and steal even more Asgardian technology for me! She was just a tool!"
