Chapter 452 Tita's Little Thoughts
Chapter 452 Tita's Little Secret (First Update)
All the girls with intact limbs who were willing to stay were divided into squads of ten and housed in the Sorority's building within the Immortal City. They were the first girls to swear an oath to their great master, and after the homunculus assessed their physical abilities, they became the first batch of Sorority reserves. Even though they came from different countries and spoke completely different accents, these girls could still communicate haltingly with jumbled gestures, showing their companions the marks left on their bodies by their terrible past.
More than one girl wiped away her tears after crying and then looked forward to the future.
They had all endured similar hellish experiences, and the arrival of the Sorority ignited a flame of revenge within them. Therefore, the first items the androids gave them were not clothes, nor medicine, but pistols and daggers—their first possession of power. Each reserve member received a Ka-Bar 1217 tactical dagger and an Italian Beretta 92F pistol. Although the girls didn't yet know the names of these weapons, they could still feel the sense of security derived from the heavy steel in their hands. These were their own weapons, their first gift.
In the past, they were threatened with pistols and daggers more than once, but that will never happen again. They will unleash their fury on their enemies. From now on, they will bid farewell to the material comforts that girls their age should enjoy. They will shed their weakness and leave behind their nightmares. Like the daggers in their hands, they will be forged in flames and sweat, tempered by blood and tears, becoming reliable weapons.
The girls agreed to braid each other's hair the next morning and then turn off the lights and go to sleep, otherwise the sorority members would break into the room and throw them onto the bed. Aside from the classes that would take place the next morning, the place was no different from any other girls' school. The girls were also looking forward to using firearms and knives in training classes, wearing protective gear and engaging in close combat with their companions, because they knew the sorority was giving them strength.
Their known courses include firearms maintenance and modification, gun handling training, and pistol and rifle shooting. They will learn the Welsh shooting stance, the center-locking system, and directional shooting, as well as Mozambique shooting techniques and contact shooting techniques. At the same time, the androids will also teach them how to engage in close combat, including unarmed combat and bayonet fighting. Only after completing those courses will they have the opportunity to handle longswords and learn the Germanic swordsmanship compiled by Salomon.
While the girls turned off the lights and went to sleep, Tita was leading almost all the androids in the production of alchemical potions. These potions were for the girls to use during their training, and many of the formulas came from the Umbera Witch Family, specifically designed to enhance the physical abilities of female users. After adjustments by Salomon and Dinah, these potions did not produce adverse reactions when taken together. With strict control of the dosage, long-term use of these alchemical potions could increase their muscle mass, bone density, and nerve reflexes.
The potion's ingredients were purchased by Dina from Vandazar Fow using gold. Salomon's gold was far from enough to cover such a large, long-term transaction, but New York City's underground contained the world's largest gold reserves, so it wouldn't be a big problem for the sorcerer to secretly borrow a little.
Since the US is already diverting the gold reserves held there by various countries for other purposes, Salomon doesn't mind taking advantage of the US's national credit. He believes those girls are more important than the US national credit.
Without these drugs, those girls would never have been able to complete such rigorous training; their natural physical abilities were far inferior to those of the androids using the Alchemy Engine. But the Sorority's expectations for them went beyond that. When Salomon agreed to let the Sorority accept new mortal blood, Tita already had some plans in mind.
This is not betrayal, but loyalty, and even if this kind of loyalty is abhorred by the god they worship, the sorority will not regret it. They must spread this faith to every girl and require them to keep it a secret, to hide that fervor in their hearts. The androids know how difficult this is, but they must do it.
It's not that no girls want to go home to find their families, but the artificial beings have explained the consequences to them—even if they went back, there would be nothing they could do. They would miss out on the opportunity to receive an education, the local government wouldn't take care of them, and some people might even sell them again.
This is a secluded paradise far removed from the world. Even if they don't join the sorority, this is the only place where they can live a quiet and peaceful life.
Those girls who insisted on going home were never seen again.
"Where are those girls?" The Wakandan princess stormed into Salomon's office to question him. She had just obtained the girls' firsthand medical examination data and was preparing to provide medical assistance to those suffering from illnesses. However, when she arrived in the Immortal City the next morning and passed by the Sisterhood's training grounds to check on the girls who were training, she discovered that some of them were missing.
Su Rui immediately recalled the girls' longing for their hometowns expressed during her medical examinations; she had marked those girls carefully. And the missing girls were those same girls, causing Su Rui to instantly lose her composure. Completely disregarding the cooperative relationship between Wakanda and Salomon, she grabbed a weapon and stormed into the office, nearly having her throat bitten open by the spirit hound Salomon had placed at the door.
Standing by the desk, Stephanie poured Salomon a cup of tea, then cast a disdainful glance at Su Rui. But she quickly concealed that look, pretending nothing had happened. Because Diana was responsible for the sorority's daily operations, Stephanie was temporarily taking on the role of Salomon's personal assistant, and the Hydra daughter had quite adeptly mastered certain details of Salomon's life.
Although Diana still made breakfast herself on Sunday, Stephanie already knew how much sugar to put in Salomon's black tea.
Salomon rolled his eyes at Shuri. "T'Chaka should have taught you royal etiquette, Princess Shuri." He slowly sipped his hot tea and gave Stephanie a look of approval. "Or are the Wakanda royal family all brainless idiots?"
"Answer my question first!" Princess Su Rui angrily sat down at the table.
"I fulfilled their wishes; I've sent them back to their hometowns." Salomon turned a page in his book without looking up. "Every girl who wanted to go home, not one was left behind."
"When?"
"Last night," Salomon raised an eyebrow, revealing an unusual weariness, "I can only alter their memories while they're asleep. They'll forget what happened here and then come up with a logical yet somewhat bizarre story to fill the gaps in their memories, thus completely concealing the existence of the Sisterhood and the Immortal City. Given that I've been casting spells all night, could you perhaps grant me some rest?"
Salomon's tone was polite yet extremely serious. He relied heavily on Su Rui's research capabilities, thus granting her considerable authority within the Immortal City. However, this didn't mean he tolerated Su Rui interfering in everything within the Immortal City. Simply put, Su Rui had become accustomed to her domineering ways within the Wakanda royal family and assumed the Immortal City was the same as Wakanda.
The cooperation between the Immortal City and Wakanda is mutually beneficial; it's more accurate to say that Bastet is cooperating with Wakanda. Wakanda is Bastet's representative. King T'Chaka is well aware of his position, and Prince T'Challa understands this as well, but only Shuri remains well protected.
"You don't understand anything, Suri," he said. "Go to work."
