Wizard: This mushroom is too fierce.

Chapter 15: Symbiotic Relationships and Blank Runes

Three days later, another general education course, "Meditation," began.

This course is taught by Lord Lucius, a first-circle wizard who specializes in symbiotic magic within the botanical school.

Roland understood from Lord Lucius that the "War Plant Symbiosis" magic sub-direction was a variant of the Bloodline School. Their school's development direction was to transform themselves into a plant platform, similar to tree people, which could carry other plant life forms. Then, they would graft various magical plants that fit the transformation direction or extend the magic through the selected plant platform itself, giving birth to a batch of byproducts created entirely by the plant platform.

Take tree people as an example. Their leaves and fruits can be considered byproducts. According to Lord Lucius, some powerful plant wizards can even turn the diseases on tree people into their own magic, and even byproducts like insects.

"Children, meditation is extremely important. It is not only a means for us wizards to improve, but also a guiding light."

Lucius, a learned old man with graying temples and a gradually hunched back, sat in his chair and continued earnestly, "Does anyone know why we construct runes during meditation?"

"Because runes are essential for wizards to enhance their magical power and build their own class system."

Roland, sitting in the first row, spoke first. Lucius, seeing Roland's inquisitive look, nodded: "Indeed, but not accurately."

"To be precise, every advancement of a wizard is full of variables, and the runes drawn through meditation can help you resist various contaminations during the advancement process, preventing you from getting lost in your mental sea and causing you to completely lose your rationality and become a monster."

"Lord Lucius, what is pollution?" Roland asked several questions in succession: "What is the difference between basic meditation and advanced meditation?"

Lord Lucius watched Roland with great interest. This young apprentice seemed different from the others. His thirst for knowledge seemed to be far greater than that of his peers. For a few moments, Lucius felt as if he were talking to a wizard.

"There are many kinds of pollution, which I will not go into detail here. You can go to the public library and take a look at the Complete Book of Pollution written by the knowledgeable wizard Franklin. It is a small encyclopedia and is especially suitable for wizarding apprentices like you to study."

"As for the difference between basic and advanced meditation," Lucius smiled, "that's a matter of pricing."

"However!" Lucius said happily, looking into Roland's clear eyes, "This old man hasn't met such an interesting child in a long time."

"This time, I can answer your questions for free."

"Simply put, basic meditation is pure; it does not contain the personal will of any other wizard. Only your will can influence it."

"But advanced meditation is different. It was created by powerful wizards based on their own paths, and it has its own will and ideas. After we learn it, we often follow in the footsteps of that powerful wizard to build runes. After all, with the template in front of us, who wouldn't be tempted?"

"However, this is all normal. When you have your own knowledge, your own ideas, and a clear understanding of the wizard's path to truth, you will naturally change the model of meditation and build your own rune path."

As he spoke, Lucius's expression suddenly became weary, and his voice gradually lowered: "The specific guidance on advanced meditation methods will be explained to you by your assigned mentors or senior students."

"The basic meditation technique is a transitional spell. Normally, you can discard this spell after you have learned the advanced meditation technique."

Lucius slowly closed his eyes, like a tree-man falling asleep, and said in his final words, "However, I suggest that talented children continue to delve deeper into the basic meditation method. When you cultivate it to its limit, it will produce a blank rune."

"get out of class dismissed!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lucius disappeared from the classroom. Roland raised an eyebrow slightly, sensing a stench of decay.

"Roland, are you selling your notes?"

"Oh...notes?" Roland looked at the purple-haired girl in the school uniform in front of him: "What's so great about my notes? We're in the same year, so who's better than whom?"

"Besides, isn't this something that only upperclassmen and upperclasswomen have?" Roland glanced at the 'agents' selling notes at the door and couldn't help but sigh. The world of white wizards is truly economical. Ever since he started taking general courses, at least five groups of people have recommended things to him that claimed to quickly improve his strength.

This includes notes from senior students, optimized spell models from senior students, and magical artifacts left behind by senior students that can accelerate the improvement of mental power...

As for whether it's useful or not, that's a matter of opinion. Anyway, Roland has never bought one, because most people selling them are just scams.

"My name is Olivia Grant, and I am a potion master's assistant."

Olivia has a pair of amber eyes like glass, thick purple hair tied in a high ponytail, and seems to have a trace of elven blood. She has a pair of long, pointed ears that only elves possess.

“My eyesight far surpasses that of normal humans, and my insight is also very sharp. I have a considerable talent in this area.” Olivia sat in the chair next to Roland and pointed to the notebook on the table. “I can assure you that your notebook is far superior to those of your contemporaries and even to those wizard brokers who sell shoddy notebooks.”

"Roland Colt, you seem to be a wizard who is particularly good at learning and building knowledge systems. I think you have great potential."

Roland looked at the girl with exquisite features before him, nodded in approval, and then calmly said, "Thank you for your approval."

"My notes can certainly be sold... How many magic stones are you prepared to offer?"

"Follow the market price?" Roland pointed to the intermediaries.

With fewer and fewer new apprentices passing the assessment, the notes for the three major public courses total only ten magic stones.

Olivia's delicate face showed a hint of embarrassment. She first placed her hand on Roland's notebook, then looked at him with her big eyes and said in a pleading expression, "Um... Roland, could you possibly pay me back... You know, Potions is very expensive, and I really don't have many magic stones right now."

Freebie?

Roland looked at the pitiful purple-haired girl in front of him and suddenly felt breathless and shivering. Sure enough, beautiful women are all scheming.

"I'm sorry!" Roland said expressionlessly, snatching his notebook from the other person's hand and standing up to leave.

Seeing this, Olivia looked embarrassed and quickly said, "Roland...we can cooperate!"
