Kyoto Night Kiss

Chapter 99 Fighting

Heavy rain.

The splashing water continued to flow down Qu Yun's hair and the hem of her coat. She bent her knuckles and tapped twice on the rain-covered car window.

Then, raising his voice, he said, "Lu Junhe, let's talk."

"I have something very important to tell you."

Seeing this, the driver braved the rain and quickly stepped forward. He reached out and grabbed Qu Yun's arm, saying, "Miss, you can't do this!"

In his haste, he lost his composure and pinched Qu Yun, pinching her skin and flesh, causing her to gasp in pain.

The man inside the car remained silent for a long time, seemingly ignoring everything.

Just as the driver was about to carry Qu Yun away from the back, Lu Junhe rolled down the car window.

His expression was impatient, half of his face hidden in the dim light of the car, and his voice sounded even more indifferent in the pouring rain: "We have nothing to talk about."

Qu Yun's arm was still throbbing slightly, but she stubbornly raised her eyes and replied, "I'm here to talk to you about business."

"For official business, please follow the rules and regulations and come during office hours on weekdays."

Lu Junhe leaned back in his chair, his tone remaining firm.

Perhaps it was the rain blurring her vision, but Qu Yun couldn't see very clearly.

Her nose stung with tears: "If you don't want to see me, can you find another excuse?"

"Didn't I come here specifically to see you during my work hours today? You said you were busy, and you wouldn't even give me a chance to wait inside."

She knew perfectly well what was going on in her heart.

Whether it's business or personal matters, Lu Junhe avoids her at all costs.

Even death row inmates deserve a chance to defend themselves, right?

She didn't seek acquittal; she just wanted to clarify things.

Lu Junhe didn't bother to reply. He lightly touched the button, and the car window rose at a steady speed.

The thick glass gradually separated the two of them, blocking out the torrential rain and also blocking out all of Qu Yun's tears.

The driver, not wanting to lose his job, turned around and got back into the car.

The black sedan hummed its engine and slowly drove away.

Qu Yun was still standing frozen in a puddle, watching helplessly as the red taillights of the car disappeared into the rain and mist.

Suddenly, the car, which had driven about twenty or thirty meters away, stopped.

The driver who had been there earlier jogged over with an umbrella, handed Qu Yun a spare umbrella from inside the car, and without saying a word, bent down and ran back to the car.

Qu Yun gripped the cold umbrella handle tightly.

She understood what Lu Junhe meant.

Since he doesn't want to see her today, she can come again tomorrow.

Just as Qu Yun turned to leave, an electric scooter suddenly crashed into her head-on. The driver's raincoat hood was pulled down too low, obstructing his view.

The electric scooter's tire slammed into her calf.

Qu Yun immediately lost her balance and fell into a puddle filled with rainwater on the side of the road.

She is in pain all over her body right now.

The car did not stop in the distance.

Lu Junhe took everything in.

The moment he saw Qu Yun being knocked down, his fingertips touched the car door handle, then he paused for a second before slowly withdrawing his hand.

The driver kindly asked, "Mr. Lu, do you need me to go over and help you again?"

Lu Junhe didn't respond, his voice hoarse: "Contact the nearest medical facility."

He is not a doctor.

I can't be of much help.

Qu Yun had some difficulty standing up, and the girl who bumped into her helped her up, apologizing repeatedly.

She shook her head and said it was nothing.

However, as soon as the injured calf put pressure on itself, a tearing pain shot up.

There seemed to be something sharp on the ground that tore her pants.

"You...you're bleeding so much..." the girl said, covering her lips.

Qu Yun turned her head and saw that blood was flowing continuously from her leg, dripping onto the road and quickly being washed into the sewer by the rain.

The ambulance arrived quickly.

Qu Yun didn't want Cheng Tongzhou to worry at home because he couldn't wait for her, so she told him that she had suffered a minor injury.

As a result, Cheng Tongzhou insisted on coming over, leaving Cheng Chongchong with the nanny first.

After examining Qu Yun's wound, the doctor said she needed stitches.

He carefully cut open the blood-soaked trouser leg, his fingertips gripping the disposable sterile bed sheet beneath him.

When the cold iodine was applied to the wound, a piercing stinging sensation spread throughout her body. Her throat tightened, and she swallowed all the pain.

An anxious figure walked in through the door.

Cheng Tongzhou bent down and squatted beside her, gently placing his warm palm on Qu Yun's cold hand, his eyes filled with worry: "Don't be afraid, I'm here with you, it will be over soon."

"If you're in pain, just hold my hand. Don't try to tough it out."

Qu Yun couldn't speak, and the doctor kept threading needles into her wound.

Cheng Tongzhou brushed her stray hairs aside with one hand and spoke softly from time to time to distract her.

Qu Yun's eyes were brimming with tears, but she endured the whole thing without uttering a sound.

The doctor went to the computer outside the curtain to prepare the medication.

Qu Yun lowered her eyes and saw that Cheng Tongzhou's hand was still caressing the back of her hand. She immediately pulled it back as if she had been electrocuted, but then felt too embarrassed and forced a smile that looked worse than crying.

"You didn't tell Chongchong I was injured, did you?"

"No. Where did you get injured? How did it get so serious..." Cheng Tongzhou asked with a serious expression.

Qu Yun only said that the road was too slippery and she accidentally fell.

After the doctor wrote out the prescription, Cheng Tongzhou went to pay the fees, pick up the anti-inflammatory drugs, and also bought a bottle of hot strawberry milk from the vending machine.

He originally planned to carry Qu Yun out of the hospital, but Qu Yun refused.

He could only cautiously linger on her arm.

Qu Yun's injured leg made it difficult for her to put weight on it, so she leaned most of her body against Cheng Tongzhou, and the two of them slowly made their way out of the hospital.

In the dimly lit hospital parking lot, a black sedan sat quietly in the shadows with its engine off.

Lu Junhe let the driver go home first, and now, sitting in the driver's seat, his gaze was fixed on the two people leaning on each other at the hospital entrance.

The rain has finally stopped.

A faint gloom hung over his eyes, and he didn't push open the door to get out of the car.

Cheng Tongzhou opened the passenger door and let Qu Yun sit down.

He shoved the still-warm strawberry milk into Qu Yun's hand and whispered, "I think I left something at the hospital. I'll go look for it."

Upon hearing this, Qu Yun also wanted to help search.

Cheng Tongzhou pushed her back down.

Cheng Tongzhou reclined some of the seats and carefully added cushions to support Qu Yun's injured leg, his eyes full of tenderness: "Rest here for a while, I'll be there in a bit."

He closed the car door, and his expression instantly turned cold.

Walking to the other side of the parking lot, Cheng Tongzhou gripped the black car door handle tightly, his grip carrying a hint of suppressed rage. He roared, "I know you're in there."

"Come down here and talk to me."

He would not allow anyone to harm Qu Yun.

I actually believed that Qu Yun slipped and fell because of the slippery road due to the heavy rain.

He only understood everything when he saw the familiar car at the hospital entrance.

It's related to this man surnamed Lu again!

Lu Junhe pushed open the car door.

As soon as he stood up, Cheng Tongzhou delivered a heavy punch to his jaw.

Lu Junhe's body slammed against the car, a gash appeared on his lip, and fine blood trickled down the wound.

He didn't fight back. He raised his eyes, looked at the man in front of him whose face was ashen, and then casually wiped away the bloodstains that were dripping from the corner of his lips with the back of his hand.
