From American comics to becoming the mastermind behind the scenes
Chapter 40 Stark's Return, the Birth of Steel
From the power Wesker displayed, Norman Osborn had already deduced that Umbrella was a behemoth no less than Stark Industries.
But now it seems that Stark Industries isn't even fit to be Umbrella's shoe-shiner.
Upon entering the core area of the Umbrella Corporation for the first time, Norman Osborn was overwhelmed by the various amazing gadgets and would occasionally exclaim in amazement.
"This underground laboratory is no less large than a city on the surface," Norman Osborn remarked.
As the elevator descended, and the doors opened again, Norman Osborn was greeted by a different scene.
Compared to the cleanliness and pleasing white of the previous environment, this place is dark everywhere.
Apart from the occasional researcher in a white coat, the rest were all biochemical control personnel wearing full protective suits and respirators.
And fully armed security personnel.
They look even more professional than the soldiers in America.
"What I'm about to show you is the weaponry you'll be demonstrating to the military." Wesker walked to a coffin-like incubation chamber that was locked behind a blast door.
"Red Queen, unlock the security lock."
As the airtight door opened, Norman Osborn's eyes widened at the sight of the monster floating in the incubation chamber: "What...what is this?"
"The Tyrant T-103 is Umbrella Corporation's first mass-produced bioengineered weapon," Wesker said casually.
"You possess a body that recovers rapidly, and while your intelligence is not high, you are absolutely loyal. I have granted you access to facilitate your demonstration later."
Norman Osborne frowned. "How many orders do you need me to fulfill?"
Upon hearing this, Wesker couldn't help but chuckle: "We don't need big orders, we want something else."
The Tyrant T-103 cycle was created using a common human gene template. If the gene pool can be optimized, we can create an even more powerful variant.
Norman Osborn immediately understood Wesker's meaning: "You want the military's mutant gene pool?"
Wesker nodded.
"I'm afraid the military won't agree," Norman Osborn shook his head. "The military has been researching the X-weapon, and the mutant gene pool is their private property."
"But they can't build obedient weapons," Wesker said. "We can. Maybe they should find a different partner."
Norman Osborn remained silent, watching the tyrant in the incubation chamber.
He felt as if the tyrant had moved slightly.
How does it compare to you?
"Less than 10%."
Norman Osborn's expression calmed down: "That's enough. I'll get the X Gene Bank data samples for our company."
"Very good." Wesker grinned smugly. "You'll soon get the new injections, and your son's illness will be cured."
……
"Stark, do you know what you've done? How much our stock price has dropped?" Obadiah roared angrily.
"I thought our company would see a turnaround after you came back, but I didn't expect you to make such outrageous remarks. I'm holding a press conference right now, and you need to clarify that what you said before was just a moment of confusion."
Tony Stark, holding a cheeseburger in his hand, was lounging comfortably on the sofa, eating the burger and drinking cola.
"No, Obadiah, I am very clear-headed now. I know what decision I made, but I definitely have a way to reverse the company's stock price."
"I think you've been hanging out with those religious fanatics for too long, and your brain has gone foggy," Obadiah sneered.
Tony Stark finished his cheeseburger in a few bites, licked his fingers, and said, "The only thing that could drive me crazy in that cave was their terrible food and living conditions."
After saying that, Tony Stark stood up and patted Obadiah on the shoulder: "Don't worry, I'm a genius."
Obadiah frowned, his gaze inadvertently sweeping over the Arc Reactor on Tony Stark's chest: "First, we need to find a doctor and figure out how to fix this problem on your chest."
"There's one more thing. Today is the military's procurement meeting, which Stark Industries was originally scheduled to attend. Are you still going?"
Tony Stark shook his head: "I have more important things to do than that kind of boring childish game."
"Furthermore, I have announced the closure of the military department and the cessation of the production and sale of any lethal weapons."
Obadiah scoffed, "You'll regret this."
"But this is Stark Industries, not Obadiah Industries. I am the largest shareholder of the company."
Upon hearing this, Obadiah angrily slammed the door and left.
Obadiah left the Stark Industries building with a furrowed brow and a fierce expression.
"Those damn bastards! I ordered them to kill Tony Stark, and they secretly kept him alive to make weapons for them!"
Thinking of this, Obadiah was furious.
He finally found an opportunity for Stark to leave America, leaked Stark's top-secret whereabouts to the terrorists, and then had the terrorists help him get rid of Tony Stark.
He could have swallowed up the behemoth that is Stark Industries, but he didn't expect those damned guys to have other ideas, which has put him in a very passive position.
Tony Stark is currently in America and has just been attacked. Numerous intelligence agencies across the country are closely monitoring Tony Stark to ensure his safety, making another assassination attempt unlikely.
"Boss, we found something in the desert where Tony Stark died that might be of interest to you."
An increasingly agitated Obadiah frowned. "Speak, what is it?"
The item his men brought was the Mark I prototype that Tony Stark used to escape from the cave.
"Looks like Tony Stark has a surprise for me."
If he could replicate this machine and mass-produce it, even if he killed Tony Stark, someone in the military would protect him.
But now it's time to go to the military's procurement meeting.
After Obadiah left, Tony Stark clutched his chest; he hadn't yet adjusted to the Arc Reactor and couldn't help coughing twice.
He had already told Colonel Rhodes about his physical condition when he left the cave and was found by him.
Colonel Rhodes is also helping Tony Stark find a treatment, but judging from the current results, it seems that current technology is unable to cure the hidden danger in his body.
The operation of the arc reactor is constantly releasing palladium into his bloodstream. If he continues to wear the arc reactor, he will eventually die from palladium poisoning.
But if he doesn't wear the arc reactor, the debris that enters his pulmonary artery will enter his heart.
Wearing it or not, you'll die anyway.
"Since human technology can no longer solve my problem, perhaps I can think of other ways."
Tony Stark tapped the Arc Reactor in his chest and pulled out a crumpled business card.
Constantine, the exorcist expert.
Actually, Tony Stark would like to consult Ah You more, but Ah You has already returned to China, making it somewhat unrealistic for him to come over.
"But I always felt he was a bit unreliable."
