"He's trying to escape!" Peter Parker immediately shot out his web to try and stop William.

"Word of Power: Time Zero"

Everyone heard a soft whisper, and then saw a blurry figure flash past their eyes.

Even Peter Parker's enhanced dynamic vision couldn't keep up with Angers' speed.

All that could be seen was that William, who had already broken through the wall and was trying to escape, had been cut open.

The wound did not heal; instead, large areas of black necrosis appeared.

The deformed marks on his body were fading, and William, unable to move, collapsed heavily to the ground.

His eyes regained their clarity, and when he saw Angers, his face, whose features were no longer discernible, seemed to be wryly smiling.

"headmaster."

"It seems Wesker acted first," Angers sighed. "William, I warned you before, we can access the research, but the goal is to stop them, not to become them."

"I have some regrets," William's body began to fester, "but I don't think the path I chose was wrong. The seal on the blessed land has been damaged, so we have to find another way. Sacrifice is necessary, otherwise when those monsters descend upon the mortal world, the loss to human civilization will only be greater."

"Teacher, you're too old-fashioned." William stared into Angers' eyes and began to cough incessantly.

Angers shook his head: "I've lived for over a hundred years and witnessed two resurrections of the Dragon Kings. They are indeed terrifying, terrifying enough to threaten the survival of human civilization, but even they dare not meet the gaze of the terrifying beings in the blessed lands. What makes you think that the evolution achieved by using the Solar Staircase at the cost of eliminating ninety-nine humans will be enough to deal with them?"

"Did I make the wrong choice?" William's eyes began to glaze over, his clarity fading.

"How did you do that?" Angers asked, his tone tinged with regret. "Your talent is even more astonishing than I imagined."

William let out a joyful laugh, like a child in kindergarten who had been rewarded with a little red flower.

"We obtained an unhatched egg, which should be the first generation. It is in... Wis...k..." William's words were cut short as his mutated body crumbled like burnt-out incense ash.

Angers stood there silently for a long time, as if in mourning or in remembrance.

He took off the silk flower that he had changed into at some point from his chest and gently placed it on William's body.

"He's dead?" Steve walked over to Angers and patted him on the shoulder as if to comfort him, only then did he realize.

The old man was so thin and frail.

"Dead? Humans aren't dragons. Once they're dead, they're truly dead, never to be resurrected." Angers sighed, then looked at Steve and smiled, "You're well-preserved. As someone your age, I feel a little ashamed in your presence. Do you have any beauty secrets you can share?"

Steve chuckled and shook his head: "I've been in the permafrost for decades."

"The refrigerator really does keep things fresh." Angers smiled. "Looks like I'll have to go to New York and have a heart-to-heart talk with another of my students."

Steve had already obtained information about Angers from Peter Parker and knew that Angers' purpose was related to Umbrella Technology.

"Is it for the dragon eggs?" Steve asked.

Angers nodded: "Dragon eggs could hatch prematurely at any time under stimulation. If they hatch in downtown New York City, they could destroy the entire city."

"Waking up was more shocking than I expected. I feel like I don't even recognize this world anymore," Steve sighed. "Dragons... I thought those things only existed in legends."

"If you're unlucky, you might see him in downtown New York City in a few days."

A soft "hum" sounded.

A device that had fallen off the table suddenly started operating, and the projected light immediately formed the image of a man in a leather trench coat, with slicked-back blond hair and sunglasses.

"Wesker!" Peter Parker called out immediately.

Wesker stood with his hands behind his back, looking very confident: "Headmaster, you really did come to Raccoon City."

"Wesker," Angers' tone turned icy, "where are the dragon eggs!"

"I'm sorry, Headmaster. I can't give you the dragon egg. Actually, you should be more concerned about yourselves right now. Your Word of Power, Time Zero, is just too terrifying. In order to deal with you, I have to make up my mind to prepare a surprise for you."

Wesker grinned smugly. "One minute left, and you'll receive your little gift from the American military. Here's a hint: what's the hottest day in Japanese history?"

"You're actually going to drop a nuclear bomb on the company you founded!" Steve's eyes widened in shock.

After waking up, Steve did a lot of studying modern knowledge.

After all, when he became an old popsicle, Japan hadn't yet obediently surrendered!

"Correct, but there's no reward," Wesker laughed. "However, before you receive your gift, you'll first have to escape the self-destruction of the underground laboratory... If you, Principal, manage to get out safely, I'll be waiting for you in New York."

After uttering the last word, Wesker's figure vanished instantly.

Peter Parker asked incredulously, "What did he just mean? My superhero career has only just begun! I just met Captain America, and I haven't even gotten his autograph yet! How can I die?!"

Gwen frowned. One minute, one minute more, and a powerful nuclear bomb would fall on her head.

The time is too short; it's almost impossible to escape.

If it hides underground, the laboratory will also begin to self-destruct.

What should I do?!

There was no time to think; the laboratory lights flashed red, and the alarm blared.

The ground immediately began to collapse, and a series of clear explosions rang out.

"Run!" At this moment, everyone was in a panic and ran wildly along the wall that William had smashed open, causing the ground to tremble.

Flames shot into the sky behind me, and I could even feel the intense heat emanating from behind me.

"There's still a road ahead!"

Not far ahead was a construction site that was not yet fully completed, with a makeshift elevator that looked rather unreliable.

But at this point, everyone disregarded everything else and got on the elevator together.

They activated the elevator before the explosion caught up with them.

As the elevator ascended, the rotating cable creaked and groaned from the impact of the explosion.

They staggered and wobbled all the way to the ground.

The exhaustion and lack of oxygen made my head spin, but the next second I heard a strange sound following closely behind.

The manhole cover popped up with a bang, like a firecracker thrown by a child during Chinese New Year, and then countless disgusting, blood-red worms swarmed out.

These insects spread like a tide, burrowing into people's bodies before they even have time to react.

The ground cracked and rose continuously until it reached its limit and shattered completely.

A monster, as large as a mountain of flesh, emerged from the crack, letting out a terrifying roar.

"What on earth is this thing?!"

Just as everyone was in a panic, the streetlights suddenly flickered, and loud rock music suddenly started playing from the street speakers.

A golden-red arc streaked across the sky.

"On your left!"
