Tomb raiders: You stole my little Qilin?

When Hei Xiazi woke up, it was already afternoon.

Sunlight streamed in through the cracks in the window, cutting golden stripes across the floor.

He raised his hand and touched his eyes, his fingertips touching dried petal fragments, finely clinging to his eyelashes.

The cool sensation that spread from deep within my eye sockets was still there, as if something had been gently plucked away, leaving behind a feeling of unprecedented relief.

With a gentle lift, the crushed petals and fragments fell down in a soft rustling sound.

He sat up and blinked.

The light poured in, bright and soft, and the stinging pain that had accompanied him for years was gone.

The furnishings in the main hall came into clear view.

The wood grain on the coffee table, the casually placed wooden boxes, and the jigsaw puzzle that Wu Wei hung up on the opposite wall last time.

The outlines of everything are clear and stable, no longer appearing as if shrouded in a layer of gray mist under the sunlight.

Black Bear instinctively reached for his sunglasses on the bridge of his nose, only to find nothing.

Then he remembered that he had taken off his sunglasses and put them on the coffee table before applying the medicine.

The sound of Wu Wei and Zhang Qiling talking could be heard outside.

Wu Wei said something, and Zhang Qiling responded softly, her tone tinged with helplessness.

Hei Xiazi stood up and pushed open the door to the main hall. The afternoon sun dazzled him, and he reflexively squinted.

He couldn't help but look up and stare directly at the sun. It was bright and dazzling, but it was good.

They made their way to Zhang Qiling's room.

Wu Wei and Zhang Qiling sat on the edge of the bed, where fragments and a jigsaw puzzle piece with only one corner pieced together were scattered.

Finally, he simply nodded, his voice hoarse: "All done."

Wu Wei took three steps at a time and walked up to him, getting close enough to look into his eyes.

Black Bear was startled by his sudden approach, his eyes widened, and he stood frozen in place.

"It's really healed." Wu Weizai examined it carefully, then turned and waved to Zhang Qiling.

"Hey buddy, come take a look!"

Zhang Qiling walked over, looked carefully at Hei Xiazi's eyes, and nodded.

Then he stepped back a few paces, walked into the courtyard, raised a long, slender finger, and asked the bear:

"How many is this?"

Black Bear laughed in exasperation, "You really think I'm blind?"

"Hahahaha." Wu Wei laughed from behind.

He exchanged a glance with Zhang Qiling, whose lips were curled up, and then looked at Hei Xiazi.

"He looks so handsome without his sunglasses, Blackie."

Black Bear felt extremely uncomfortable being stared at by the two men, one in front and one behind.

He picked up the sunglasses hanging on his collar and was about to put them on his face.

She turned and walked towards the kitchen as if trying to escape, but stopped after taking two steps and said to Wu Wei:

"Since you mentioned thinking about the blind man on the phone last time, I'll cook you a big meal today!"

Wu Wei tilted his head: "Wasn't I saying I missed your cooking?"

"Would you like to order some food?" Black Bear's voice came from the kitchen.

"think."

Wu Wei excitedly followed to the kitchen door and poked his head inside: "I want to eat braised pork."

"It's too oily, you can't eat it now."

"The sweet and sour pork ribs."

"Too sweet, it's not good for wound healing."

"...How about sauerkraut fish then?"

"Pickled cabbage is a fermented food, and you can't eat it right now because your immunity is low."

Wu Wei walked beside him and caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye that he pushed the air for the third time and put his sunglasses on his own face.

"You need to get used to being blind quickly."

When Hei Xiazi saw his sunglasses on Wu Wei's face, he secretly licked his back teeth, and that itch in his heart surged up again.

The market wasn't crowded at this time of day, and several stalls were already empty.

The first stall was a tofu stall, and Wu Wei immediately turned his head. "Brother, I want tofu pudding."

Zhang Qiling nodded and walked over.

A short while later, Zhang Qiling returned with three cups of tofu pudding, one of which had a straw inserted and was handed to Wu Wei.

Inside, Hei Xiazi sipped his tofu pudding, his eyes scanning the various vegetables, fish, and meats, looking every bit like a chef shopping for ingredients.

As they walked further ahead, Wu Wei seemed to be pointing to something else.

This time, Hei Xiazi didn't even look at him. He put his arm around Wu Wei's uninjured shoulder and led him forward, saying, "Eat yours, don't be picky."

Wu Wei was pulled forward by him, and when he turned back, he mouthed "Save me" to Zhang Qiling.

Zhang Qiling followed behind them, her steps light and easy.

Upon receiving Wu Wei's distress signal, a slight smile appeared on his lips.

After Hei Xiazi and Wu Wei finished buying the groceries, they turned around and found that Zhang Qiling was gone.

The two looked around and finally found the person in a corner in front of a stall selling live poultry.

Zhang Qiling was holding a bottle of fresh milk and squatting in front of a large, flat bamboo basket.

A dozen or so fluffy chicks were crammed into the bamboo basket, chirping and scurrying around inside.

Zhang Qiling squatted there, reached out and gently poked the head of one of the chicks with his finger. The chick tilted its head and chirped at him.
