This is a horrific case of family annihilation!

Conan suppressed his anger, took a deep breath, and prepared to carefully examine the clues in the study. Just then, a faint piano melody drifted over.

He stopped in his tracks.

He listened carefully and realized it was the first movement of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata".

Slow, melancholic, and tinged with a lingering sadness, it stood out all the more clearly in the quiet courtyard late at night.

He wondered where he had heard this piece of music before.

He paused for a moment, then suddenly remembered—the poster on the wall in Asai Narumi's clinic earlier that day was the cover of the sheet music for "Moonlight Sonata".

Conan immediately followed the sound of the piano.

After passing through two corridors, he arrived at a spacious Japanese-style room filled with various musical instruments.

A black upright piano leaned against the corner of the wall, with several guitars and a violin on the shelf next to it, and a few crumpled sheet music scattered on the floor.

Asai Narumi was sitting in front of the piano, her hands moving slowly across the keys, her slender fingers pressing down a series of deep and gentle notes.

Conan stood at the door, opened his mouth, but didn't know how to start speaking.

He had already considered asking, but he was still struggling with the decision.

He didn't know what role Asai Narumi played in this massacre, nor did he know that if he opened his mouth to ask questions, it would make the other party want to silence him.

He hesitated.

Just as he hesitated, Asai Narumi stopped moving.

She took a lighter from a box next to the piano, held it in her hand for a second or two in silence, and then tossed it lightly around.

The lighter landed on a pile of old newspapers and sawdust that had been sitting in the corner for a while and were soaked in some kind of liquid.

Upon contact with the oil-soaked materials, the flames leaped up almost simultaneously, like hungry ghosts smelling food, and quickly spread along the corner of the wall, instantly illuminating the entire room with their orange-red light.

Flames licked the paper door, the hanging curtains, and quickly climbed upwards, setting the ceiling ablaze.

Ignoring the rapidly spreading flames around him, Asai Narumi placed his hands back on the piano keys and continued playing the unfinished "Moonlight Sonata".

The music remained clearly audible amidst the crackling of the fire, unhurried and gentle, as if playing a requiem for the mansion about to be engulfed by flames.

Conan's brain was racing at that moment.

He saw that the fire was spreading in the direction of him and Asai Narumi, and if they didn't run away, they would really be trapped and die in the fire.

But he gritted his teeth, didn't turn and run away, but rushed into the tatami room that was already filled with thick smoke, grabbed Asai Narumi's arm, and pulled her up from in front of the piano with all his might:

"Dr. Asai! What happened here?! Why did you set this fire?! Why did you try to commit suicide?!"

When Asai Narumi was pulled up, she was stunned for a second.

She looked down at the kid who had appeared out of nowhere, her eyes wide with disbelief, her voice trembling: "Conan... Conan?! What are you doing here?! It's dangerous here! Get out of here!"

As she spoke, she tried to break free from his hand, took a step back, and tried to sit back down at the piano.

But Conan held onto her arm tightly, his eyes shining brightly in the firelight: "I won't leave! I need to know the truth! I won't leave until you tell me!"

Asai Narumi was getting anxious.

She watched as the flames engulfed the roof beams, and heard the crackling sound of burning planks overhead. The temperature in the room rose several degrees in an instant, and the heat made her face ache.

Looking at the stubborn boy in front of her, who was as stubborn as a calf, she felt anxious, angry, and helpless, as if all her plans had been disrupted.

She had originally intended to die peacefully in this mansion, to be burned to ashes along with all the bloodstained people and events, thus putting a period to this ending that belonged to her alone.

But now a living, breathing child is standing in front of her!

The fire was growing increasingly fierce.

A dull cracking sound came from above.

A burning beam came crashing down, landing just three or four steps away from them, sending sparks flying and splinters and embers raining down.

Asai Narumi felt her eyes burning, unable to tell whether it was from the fire or something else.

She finally broke the silence, speaking rapidly as if spilling beans: "It was the letter of request I sent to Detective Mori!"

"I originally wanted you to stop me... but now it's unnecessary, I've already taken my revenge! Alright, now that you know the truth, get out of here!!"

Conan was stunned for a moment after hearing this.

Stop you? You call this "stopping"?

There are at least forty or fifty dead people in this house. You expect me and that Maori uncle who only knows how to drink and brag to stop you?

But he quickly realized: "Did President Lin help you?"

Asai Narumi bit her lip, not wanting to say anything more.

But she saw that Conan's eyes were still staring straight at her, as if he wouldn't leave until she told him. The fire was getting bigger and bigger, and if she didn't run away soon, it would really be too late.

She could only nod hastily, her voice urgent and rapid: "Yes! I did it with him! Those people are all drug dealers! Not a single one of them is innocent! Okay, that's all you know, hurry up and leave!"

After she finished speaking, she reached out and pushed Conan's shoulder, trying to push him towards the door.

But Conan seemed rooted to the spot, remaining motionless. He looked up at her and said, slowly and deliberately, "I'm not leaving. If we're going to leave, we'll leave together."

He was gambling, gambling that Asai Narumi was a good person!

She was surprised to see me there, and then urged me to leave quickly!

So Conan gambled that the other party wouldn't just stand by and watch him die here too!

Asai Narumi was stunned.

She looked at the little boy who only reached her chest and said those words amidst the raging flames and thick smoke, her eyes serious, without a trace of hesitation or pretense.

She didn't know how to persuade him for a moment.

The fire was raging, and half of the room's outline had been engulfed in flames. Burning wood kept falling from above, the wallpaper curled, turned black, and peeled off, and the air became scorching and choking.

Asai Shigemi was frantic with worry; she knew that if things dragged on any longer, both of them would die here.

She gritted her teeth and struggled for the last few seconds, but ultimately gave in.

Forget it, I'll kill myself another day!

She couldn't die with this innocent child.

She suddenly bent down, scooped Conan up in her arms, buried her head and bent over, and rushed out with all her might toward the doorway that was already half engulfed in flames.

Conan was held in her arms, his face pressed against her shoulder, feeling the jolt of her running and the force of her body swaying as she crashed through the burning wooden planks.

Amidst the sounds of fire and explosions, he breathed a slight sigh of relief, and a triumphant smile finally appeared on his lips.

It became.
