The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 497 Gradually Moving In
These staff members are all retired flight attendants and stewards specially recruited from airlines. Their appearance and temperament are impeccable. All the men are over 1.8 meters tall, and all the women are over 1.68 meters tall. The uniforms are made by a professional uniform customization company. The cut and fabric are on par with the uniforms of first-class cabin crew. Wearing them and walking around the exhibition hall, they become a moving sight in themselves.
Lin Feng and Ouyang Qian were in the dispatch room on the second floor, facing a wall of monitoring screens. Dozens of cameras were transmitting images back in real time, covering the inside and outside of the exhibition hall, the parking lot, entrances and exits, and the surrounding roads.
On the dispatch console were two laptops and a stack of printed emergency plans and personnel schedules. Staff at various locations were constantly reporting data over the walkie-talkie. Ouyang Qian held the walkie-talkie in one hand and pointed to an area on the monitor screen where congestion was starting to appear, instructing the security team to immediately send more people to manage the congestion.
The people counter on the screen showed that the real-time passenger flow had exceeded 300,000, and the number was still jumping up—310,000, 320,000, 330,000. Each jump was a new wave of people pouring into the exhibition hall from the subway entrance and parking lot.
"It's only been half a day." Ouyang Qian placed the walkie-talkie on the table, took a sip of her now-cold coffee, and stared at the signing data for each brand on the screen. BYD's booth had already signed nearly 500 orders, NIO and XPeng had each broken 300, and one domestic brand in the low-end section had sold nearly 400 units in just one morning. Including other brands and models, from opening at 8:18 to noon, in less than four hours, the total sales volume had already exceeded 3,000 units.
"The parking garage outside is full," Lin Feng said, pointing to the surveillance footage of the parking garage. Cars were still constantly entering and exiting the parking garage, but the numbers on the parking guidance screen had already jumped to zero. Staff put up a temporary "Parking Full" sign at the entrance and guided later vehicles to a temporary parking lot further away.
"Have the marketing department post a notice on their official WeChat account, suggesting that future customers take the subway." Lin Feng stood up and walked to the window, looking down through the glass of the dispatch room. The main passageway on the first floor of the showroom was as crowded as a high-speed rail station waiting hall during a holiday. Every movement path was packed with people, and sales consultants were weaving through the crowd.
Ouyang Qian took out her phone and dialed the marketing department, asking them to post real-time reminders on both short video platforms and local life service platforms, advising citizens to travel during off-peak hours and prioritize public transportation.
After hanging up the phone, she picked up the walkie-talkie again and asked the logistics team to immediately order an additional 500 boxed meals. Given the current flow of people, the staff would have to squeeze in their mealtimes during shifts.
The hustle and bustle on the opening day didn't gradually subside until 10 p.m.
The exhibition hall lights were dimmed precisely at 10:30 p.m., and the real-time sales data on the LED screen froze at a number that left everyone speechless.
On the first day, sales exceeded 100 million yuan, with 2,300 vehicles sold.
This figure was reported by the marketing department after working overnight to verify all signed contracts and POS machine transaction records, with an error margin of no more than three percent.
After listening to the data compiled from various locations in the dispatch room, Lin Feng put the walkie-talkie on the table, leaned back in his chair, and let out a long sigh.
Ouyang Qian sat next to him, her laptop screen displaying real-time data, with the sales bar charts for each brand still slightly fluctuating as the last few orders were entered.
BYD unsurprisingly took the top spot in sales, accounting for nearly 40% of the total. NIO and XPeng were neck and neck, while Li Auto's L9 ranked among the top three in single-model sales. Several domestic brands in the low-end segment also contributed nearly 800 units.
"With the rent and sales commission, after deducting event expenses, advertising and promotion costs, and personnel costs, the net profit on the first day recovered nearly one-tenth of the initial investment." Ouyang Qian rubbed her sore neck, her voice a little hoarse. From six in the morning to ten at night, she only ate a few bites of boxed lunch at noon. "At this rate, breaking even in a month is no doubt."
Lin Feng stood up and walked to the window, looking through the glass at the showroom below where finishing touches were still being done. Cleaning staff were mopping the terrazzo floor, which had been trodden all day, while several sales consultants gathered around the BYD booth, excitedly discussing today's performance while organizing contracts. The revolving door at the entrance of the showroom was still slowly turning, with the last group of customers occasionally walking out.
"Let everyone go back and rest first; we'll continue tomorrow," Lin Feng said.
The number of visitors on the second day was even greater than on the first day.
The combined effect of the National Day Golden Week holiday and the positive word-of-mouth on the first day meant that as soon as the store opened at nine o'clock in the morning, there was already a queue of nearly 500 meters outside the square.
The security team worked overnight to install serpentine queuing lanes and stainless steel railings around the square, but the queues still filled the lanes within half an hour.
The number of passengers at the subway station nearly doubled compared to the first day. The subway company temporarily added an extra train, and all the exit gates were opened. Staff members used loudspeakers to guide the flow of people out of the station.
The sales figures for that day were tallied at 11 p.m.: 150 million. The figure for the third day was even higher, exceeding 200 million.
The counter at the parking lot entrance showed that more than 80,000 vehicles entered and exited in three days. The five-story parking garage was operating at full capacity all day. The underground parking lot and the temporary parking spaces in the surrounding plaza were also completely full. The roadside parking spaces on several side roads were temporarily requisitioned by the traffic police to create a one-way loop line leading to the car city.
Starting from the fourth day, sales gradually dropped to an average of 60 to 70 million per day, but this figure still far exceeded the most optimistic expectations when the project was launched.
What does 60 to 70 million mean?
The highest monthly sales figure for the largest traditional gasoline-powered vehicle 4S store in Hehai City is only this amount, while Shuke New Energy Vehicle City achieved it in just one day.
More importantly, this number reflects a steady flow of people. Even after the National Day Golden Week, the daily foot traffic on weekdays remains at an average of 50,000 to 80,000 people, and easily exceeds 100,000 on weekends.
Before opening, Ouyang Qian had already secured the site of an abandoned driving school next to the car market. The driving school covered about 30 acres, and although some parts of the cement ground were cracked, the overall flatness was quite good, and it would be perfectly adequate for a test drive area after the lines were marked.
I spent an afternoon negotiating with the driving school's owner and signed a three-year lease agreement at a fairly low price. Then, I had a construction team spend four days repaving some of the damaged road surface, painting standard test drive lane lines, and installing simple sunshades and waiting area seats.
The opening of the test drive area has taken the customer experience to a whole new level. Previously, customers could only experience the car statically in the showroom, but now they can drive it out for a spin. From looking at the car to test driving and signing the contract, the entire process can be completed in the same area.
The service facilities within the car city are also being continuously improved.
Ouyang Qian set a strict rule: every customer who enters the store, regardless of whether they buy a car or not, must be offered a bottle of mineral water by the staff.
The water is custom-made, with the logo and slogan of Shuke New Energy Vehicle City printed on the bottle. It costs less than one yuan to produce, but the customer's experience after receiving it is completely different.
There is a rest area every 50 meters inside the venue, equipped with free charging stations, shared power banks, and vending machines. Customers with children can use the children's play area on the second floor for free, which has a ball pit and slides and is supervised by professional early childhood educators.
The coffee bar on the second floor offers complimentary freshly ground coffee and tea to all customers, and it was packed with people enjoying their coffee while browsing product brochures. Next to the signing room, there was a dedicated financial and insurance service area, where staff from three or four banks and insurance companies sat in a row, allowing loan approvals and insurance policy issuances to be completed on the spot.
The local police station noticed the popularity and high foot traffic of the car market and contacted Shuke Company to set up a police station next to Section C on the first floor of the car market. Four police officers took turns on duty to handle disputes, maintain order, and manage traffic in the surrounding area.
Soon after, two more banks approached them: a local rural commercial bank from Hohai and a branch of China Construction Bank, both wanting to set up a self-service point in the auto city. Ouyang Qian allocated a small area for each of them next to the financial and insurance service area on the second floor, charging rent according to the standard booth rate. The two banks signed the agreements without much haggling.
