Wizard: I Have a Nightmare World

Chapter 16 Blood Vine Mission

Three days later, at dawn, Lynn stood in front of the main tower of the White Raven Tower, looking up at the towering building that seemed to reach into the clouds.

Dark green vines climbed all over the gray-black stone wall, their tips swaying gently in the breeze, like countless small snakes wriggling.

A faint smell of blood filled the air, giving Lynn the feeling that he was about to enter a slaughterhouse.

He took a deep breath and pushed open the main tower door.

The interior is completely different from the outside.

The spacious hall was carpeted in dark red, the walls were covered with glass jars containing various strange specimens, and a huge crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, emitting a ghostly blue light.

Inside the hall, a smell mixed with herbs, blood, and old wood chips filled the air.

Not far ahead, an assistant dressed in a gray robe was already waiting in the hall. Upon seeing Lynn enter, he bowed.

"Mr. Lynn, Lord Bloodvine is waiting for you on the twelfth floor. Please follow me."

Lynn nodded and followed behind the assistant.

The two walked up the spiral staircase.

With each layer he passed, Lynn could sense the changes in the concentration of energy particles in the air.

The higher you go, the denser the energy particles in the air become.

Upon reaching the tenth level and above, he could even feel a slight tingling sensation on the surface of his skin, which was a reaction produced when high-concentration energy particles came into contact with his body.

Upon reaching the twelfth floor, the layout and the lobby were completely different.

There are no fancy decorations or strange specimens here, only a spacious and simple room.

The room's four walls were lined with enormous bookshelves, densely packed with all sorts of ancient books and scrolls, and the air was filled with the smell of paper and ink.

Near the window, there was a large rosewood desk.

The Bloodvine Wizard was sitting behind his desk, holding a yellowed book in his hands. Hearing footsteps approaching, he put down the book and looked up.

"You're here?"

Bloodvine Wizard's voice remained unchanged, still hoarse, but it seemed to have gained a bit more strength compared to when he was at the assessment site three days ago.

Upon seeing the Bloodvine Wizard, Lynn respectfully bowed to him as an apprentice.

"Greetings, Bloodvine Wizard."

The Bloodvine Wizard waved his hand, indicating that he didn't need to be so polite.

Then he took a dark red badge from the drawer and pushed it in front of Lynn.

The badge was engraved with a thorny vine entwined around a skull. It was made of some kind of dark red metal and felt warm to the touch, as if some kind of liquid was flowing inside.

"This is your badge of identity, the exclusive mark of a White Raven Tower potion master."

"Drop a drop of blood on it, and it will recognize you as its owner."

Without hesitation, Lynn used his jade knife to lightly cut his fingertip, squeezing out a drop of blood and pressing it against the badge.

The moment the blood touched the badge, it was quickly absorbed, and a faint blood-red glow appeared on the dark red surface of the badge before it returned to calm.

The Bloodvine Wizard nodded in satisfaction, then took out a fist-sized transparent crystal ball from the drawer of his desk and placed it on the table.

"Put your hand up here, let me see your mental scale."

Lynn did as instructed, placing his palm on the crystal ball and then slowly channeling his spiritual energy into it.

The crystal ball lit up instantly, emitting a soft glow.

The brightness of the light continued to increase until it stabilized at a slightly above-average level and stopped changing.

The Bloodvine Wizard looked at the light in the crystal ball, raised an eyebrow, and a look of surprise appeared on his pale face.

"First-class apprentice, mental scale 1.2?"

His tone was clearly one of surprise.

During the assessment, Lynn's talent in potion making was so dazzling that he subconsciously assumed that the other party's mental strength had at least reached the level of a second-class apprentice.

However, reality surprised Bloodvine. This young man, who was exceptionally talented in potions, had only just crossed the threshold of a first-class apprentice in meditation.

"It's lower than I expected."

The Bloodvine Wizard spoke frankly, but he did not show any disappointment. Instead, his eyes held a hint of interest.

"But that's good too. A weaker foundation actually makes a person's potential and resilience stand out more."

Bloodvine put the crystal ball back in the drawer, then picked up a roll of parchment from the desk and handed it to Lynn.

"This is a detailed annotation for the apprentice stage of 'Basic Meditation Method.' Any questions you may have about meditation are answered here."

"If it's not in the annotations, you can come to White Raven Tower and ask me."

Lynn was somewhat surprised, not expecting that there would be an annotated version of "Basic Meditation Method". He took the parchment and solemnly put it into his pocket.

Seeing that Lynn had accepted the parchment, Bloodvine's voice rang out again.

"But I have one condition: you must raise your mental scale to the second-class apprentice standard of 3.0 or above within fifteen days."

"Only when you reach the second-class apprentice level will you have enough mental strength to learn and master the real potions."

"Before this, although you were nominally my successor, you were not yet qualified to truly inherit my mantle."

Lynn felt a chill run down her spine.

Improving from 1.2 to 3.0 in fifteen days, and then liquefying one's mental energy into a sea, is no easy feat.

To achieve a 1.8 scale improvement under normal meditation conditions, it would take at least one to two months, or even longer, without eating or drinking and with average talent.

But the Bloodvine Wizard only gave him fifteen days.

This is not just a test, but also a selection process.

"I understand. I will reach the standard of a second-class apprentice within fifteen days."

Lynn didn't haggle and readily agreed.

A hint of satisfaction flashed in the Bloodvine Wizard's eyes.

Talent is not a serious issue in the eyes of a formal wizard. As long as one accumulates enough knowledge and receives some external help, one can become a formal wizard.

His blood vine is a case in point.

Without his teacher's help, he would not have become the Bloodvine Wizard he is today.

Moreover, he is also a potion master, and if he wants to help his students improve, he has even more ways to do so.

What he wants to see is the mindset and perseverance of his current students, and then step in to help them when it matters most.

"Very good, then the next fifteen days will be your time to prove yourself."

"Tomorrow morning, in addition to improving your mental strength, your first potion class will officially begin."

Upon hearing this, Lynn bowed again in the apprentice's salute, then prepared to turn and leave.

Just as he turned around, his gaze inadvertently swept over the Bloodvine Wizard's body.

At that moment, he saw an extremely bizarre scene.

The Bloodvine Wizard's withered figure suddenly became blurry, as if it had been distorted by an invisible force.

His body suddenly swelled up in that instant, then quickly shrank, transforming from a withered old man into a short, thin figure.

The change lasted for less than half a second before quickly returning to normal, as fast as a fleeting illusion.

But Lynn could see it clearly; it wasn't an illusion.

His heart skipped a beat.

After his mental scale was raised to 1.2, his perception became much sharper than before. It was impossible for him to have misjudged at this distance. The Bloodvine Wizard's body had indeed undergone some kind of strange change.

"Is there anything else?"

The Bloodvine Wizard's voice came from behind, still in the same tone, as if nothing had happened.

Lynn paused, then turned around and shook his head calmly.

"No, sir."

"The student is just thinking about how to get into the main tower of White Raven Tower tomorrow."

"Put on your identification badge. Once the White Raven Tower detects it, it will open the corresponding portal. Just walk in."

Lynn nodded to indicate that she understood, turned and left the room, and was led away from White Raven Tower by her assistant.

As he followed his assistant down the spiral staircase to the twelfth floor, his brow slowly furrowed.

One reason was the strange behavior of the Bloodvine Wizard, and the other was what the other party had just said: "The White Raven Tower will open the gate to the corresponding space," which left him somewhat puzzled.

He tried asking the assistant leading the way.

"Excuse me, what did the Bloodvine Wizard mean by 'opening the gate to the corresponding space'?"

The assistant leading the way paused for a moment, then resumed his normal pace, his voice slowly drifting over.

"Oh, you mean this?"

"I ask you, do you know where the wizards of White Raven Tower reside, except for those who are on missions and not staying at the academy?"

Lynn paused, then blurted out instinctively, "White Raven Tower."

I was stunned for a moment after he said it.

Yes, if all those wizards were in the White Raven Tower, then why didn't he see those official wizards, but only saw the Bloodvine?

The assistant clearly noticed Lynn's reaction, and his voice came again.

"That's right, it's White Raven Tower!"

"The wizards are all inside the White Raven Tower, but they live in different spaces."

"This White Raven Tower was personally built by our Dean."

"Don't be fooled by its appearance; it's just a tower. In reality, the Dean has used his immense power to fold the space and divide it into different areas."

"It can be said that within the White Raven Tower, every folded space has its own private area for the wizard."

For a moment, Lynn felt a chill run down his spine.

This is the first time he has faced such extraordinary power, and the shock it brings is beyond words.

"Right, let's go back to the original question."

"Do you remember the badge your master gave you? That's the key to unlock the area where your master is located."

"Don't lose it."

"Making this thing is very troublesome!"

During their conversation, they arrived at the lobby on the first floor.
