Wizard: I Have a Nightmare World

Chapter 32: The Wizardry Model is complete!

Lynn's face instantly darkened.

He gently placed Amber on his shoulder and patted her little head reassuringly.

"Don't be afraid, let me see."

Amber gripped his collar tightly, her voice still trembling:

"Amber really heard it... right in the middle of the night, after you fell asleep... those sounds came up from under the bed, like something digging in the dirt with its claws, one scratch after another, for a long time..."

Lynn didn't say much, rolled out of bed, and stepped barefoot onto the cold floor.

He bent down, lifted the draped sheet, and glanced at the shadows under the bed.

His bed was an ordinary wooden single bed with a low space underneath, only about 34 centimeters high. It was usually used to store some miscellaneous boxes and leftover pottery jars.

But at this moment, Lynn's gaze passed over the clutter and landed on the deepest part of the bed, near the corner of the wall.

The ground there was a noticeably darker color than elsewhere, as if something had disturbed it.

He reached out and dragged out the storage boxes one by one. After clearing away the obstructions under the bed, the entire view of the floor in the corner was revealed.

The soil there had indeed been disturbed; something had dug up the hard surface layer, revealing the soft soil underneath, forming a shallow pit.

Several clear claw marks were left on the soil at the bottom of the pit. Each claw mark was three or four centimeters deep and evenly spaced, as if left by some kind of animal digging with its front claws.

The claw marks were fresh, and the soil around them was still damp, indicating that they had been there no more than a few hours ago.

Amber peeked out from over his shoulder and trembled even more violently when she saw the claw marks.

"This is it!"

"The sound Amber heard came from here!"

Lynn crouched down and touched the soil at the bottom of the pit with his finger, feeling a damp and cool sensation on his fingertip.

He put his finger to his nose and smelled it. The faint fishy smell was exactly the same as the smell he had smelled in the breeding room number two yesterday. It was the burrowing lizard rat.

But the problem is, if the burrowing lizard rat really did dig a hole and crawl out from under his bed, why wasn't he awake at all?

His current perception, enhanced by the [Breath-Freezing Potion], is far more acute than that of an ordinary apprentice. There's no reason he wouldn't hear a burrowing lizard rat digging a hole under his bed.

Unless... he didn't sense the burrowing lizard rat digging its hole.

Or rather, he was in a nightmare world at the time, his consciousness completely detached from his real body, so his real senses were blocked and he did not receive any external signals.

A chill ran down Lynn's spine.

If his real body was completely undefended while he was in the nightmare world, then last night it was just a burrowing lizard rat digging a hole, which would have been fine.

But if something even more dangerous gets close to his body while he's out of consciousness, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Lynn took a deep breath, making sure he remembered this potential danger, and then turned his gaze back to the shallow pit.

In any case, the immediate priority is to solve the problem of this burrowing lizard rat.

He stood up, walked to the worktable, opened a drawer, and took out several materials:

Dried rootstock of a venomous plant, a piece of amber resin, a small bottle of black moss powder, and a few drops of snake saliva.

Upon seeing these materials, Amber recovered slightly from her fear and asked curiously.

"What are you going to do?"

"Prepare a bottle of animal repellent."

Lynn placed the ingredients on the worktable, lit the alcohol lamp, and began mixing.

The beast-repelling potion is a basic alchemical product, not a true magic potion, and it does not emit energy radiation, so Lynn can make it himself right now.

The principle behind this product is to ferment a mixture of materials with strong, pungent odors to produce an odor that is extremely repulsive to lower-level organisms, thereby achieving a repelling effect.

Lynn worked quickly, chopping up the roots and stems of the herbicide, grinding the black moss powder, adding the resin to melt it, and finally dripping in snake saliva and stirring.

The whole process was smooth and efficient; in less than twenty minutes, a bottle of murky, yellowish-brown liquid appeared in his hand.

He found an old brush, dipped it in the animal repellent, and evenly brushed it around the corner of the breeding room. Then he made a point of brushing it several times around the shallow pit under the bed.

A pungent, acrid odor permeated the entire cultivation room.

Amber, irritated by the fumes, wrinkled her nose and flew to the windowsill, fanning herself with her little hands.

"It smells awful!"

"Even amber can't stand this smell, so that big rat definitely can't stand it either!"

Lynn sealed the remaining medicine in a cabinet, then washed his hands and said:

"This scent should last for about three days. The burrowing lizard rat shouldn't come near here within that time."

"But this is not a long-term solution. Animal repellent can only drive it away, not kill it. It will come back once the effects of the medicine wear off."

"What should we do then?"

Amber's little face was full of worry.

Lynn remained silent for a moment, without answering the question.

He walked to the center of the cultivation room, his gaze sweeping across the entire room before finally settling on the few rare herbs planted in the corner.

Silvergrass, moonflower, bloodwort... these are all high-value materials that he focuses on caring for in the cultivation room.

If that burrowing lizard rat really has its eye on this place, then these materials will inevitably suffer sooner or later.

We must improve our strength as soon as possible!

At least the next time I encounter that burrowing lizard rat, I need to be able to deal with it directly, instead of just being chased around.

Lynn sat back down at his worktable, took out the book on Wind Blade, and turned to the last page, the page containing the complete structural diagram of the sorcery model.

In the Nightmare World, he has successfully constructed the sorcery models of Wind Blade and Lightness of Body, but that was done in his spiritual state in the Nightmare World. He has not yet truly completed the model construction of these two zero-ring tricks in the real world.

Lynn adjusted his breathing, closed his eyes, and entered his consciousness space to look at the [Wind Blade] sorcery model that he had completed a part of.

Recalling his construction process in the Nightmare Space, Lynn began to continue building his sorcery model.

With his successful experience, Lynn was quite adept at building models.

During this time, the sorcery model for the [Lightness Spell] was also completed.

Looking at the two sorcery models in the consciousness space, Lynn's mind stirred slightly, and he poured his mental energy into the model of [Wind Blade Technique].

The six-pointed star's rotation speed increased instantly, the cyan light in the energy circuit compressed sharply, and an invisible force surged along his mental energy conduction path to his right palm.

Lynn opened his eyes and raised his right hand.

In the palm of his hand, a stream of cyan energy was condensing, rotating, and compressing, rapidly transforming from a gentle breeze into a blade of air with such sharp edges that the distortion of the air was almost visible.

The blade of air hovered close to his skin, not cutting him, but causing the surrounding air to emit a faint hissing sound.

Amber's eyes widened, and her little mouth opened into a circle.

"You...you succeeded?!"

Lynn looked at the wind blade in his palm, a glint of light flashing in his eyes.

With another thought, he withdrew his mental energy, and the wind blade trembled in the space before dissipating, turning into a gentle breeze and disappearing into the air.

Wind Blade Technique, an entry-level offensive spell in Zero Ring Magic.

The construction difficulty is moderate, but for a herbalist who has been a formal apprentice for less than a month, the fact that he was able to successfully build a model from scratch and release it stably in just two nights would probably cause an uproar throughout the entire apprentice district of White Raven Tower.

Lynn didn't stop and tried the lightness technique again.

A gentle breeze rose from the soles of his feet, enveloping his entire body. In that instant, he felt his body become light and airy, as if he had lost most of his weight.

With a light leap, he soared more than two meters into the air, nearly hitting the ceiling.

Amber stared in disbelief, and after a long while, she finally managed to utter a sentence:

"Lynn, are you really human?"

Lynn landed steadily, feeling the lightness brought by the Lightness Technique, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

Both magic tricks were successful.

Even if that burrowing lizard rat dares to crawl out from under his bed again, he has enough confidence to make sure it never leaves.
