Spring Night Kiss.

Chapter 21 Baby, Wake Up

The next day, Song Qingjia was awakened by a doorbell ringing.

She's always been grumpy when she wakes up. She frowned, turned over, covered her head with the blanket, and pretended not to hear.

But the doorbell rang again, just as she had hoped.

Song Qingjia had no choice but to get up, walk barefoot to the door, and open it.

"Ms. Song, your breakfast is ready."

"I didn't order breakfast."

"It was ordered for you by a Mr. Nie."

"..."

Song Qingjia closed her eyes and stepped aside. The food cart was pushed in, containing congee, side dishes, steamed buns, and soy milk.

"Put it there," she said, pointing to the coffee table.

The waiter placed the trays down and pushed the empty cart away.

The door closed, and Song Qingjia turned around and went back to bed, throwing herself into the blankets and pulling them over her head to cover her face.

I'll take a nap.

Just as I was starting to feel sleepy, the doorbell rang again.

Song Qingjia endured the pain without moving. After lying there for a few seconds, she suddenly threw off the covers, strode to the door, and felt a surge of anger rising in her throat.

Still waiters, still food carts.

"Ms. Song, your breakfast is ready."

She took a deep breath, exhaled, and said in a stiff voice, "I didn't order breakfast."

"This was ordered for you by a Mr. Xu." The waiter's smile was equally standard.

"..."

Song Qingjia stood at the door, swallowed back the words "Is he sick?" that were on the tip of her tongue, and stepped aside.

The second food cart was pushed in, the insulated cover was lifted, revealing crab roe noodles, served with a dish of ginger and vinegar, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

There was also a sticky note next to it.

"Message me when you wake up. —Xu"

After the waiter left, Song Qingjia looked at the two breakfasts in front of her, speechless.

It's fine to be attentive, but could you please not disturb her sleep?

Since eating was out of the question, she decided to continue taking a nap.

-

Xu Zhouye picked up his coat and was about to leave when his phone suddenly rang.

Ms. Jiang, his mother.

He answered, "Mom."

"Ranran told me you have a girlfriend?" Jiang Yunsheng asked directly, his voice filled with barely concealed excitement.

Xu Zhouye chuckled softly; he knew it.

The little girl had no sense of propriety; in just one night, the news traveled from Suzhou back to Jingzhou.

"Who told her?"

"Don't worry about who told her, just say it's true or false."

"It's fake," Xu Zhouye replied lazily.

Jiang Yunsheng was taken aback, paused for a moment, and tentatively asked, "So you haven't won them over yet?"

Xu Zhouye did not respond.

Jiang Yunsheng got excited, his tone full of disappointment: "It must be because you're not trying hard enough, that's why the girl doesn't like you."

Was he not trying hard enough?

He's already chasing after me so shamelessly, isn't that enough effort?

Xu Zhouye sat down on the sofa and asked earnestly, "Then tell me, how should I work hard?"

Jiang Yunsheng: "Learn from your dad. When he was pursuing me, it caused a sensation throughout the entire capital."

Xu Zhouye raised an eyebrow.

"I won't even mention the jewelry and accessories; he gave me everything from airplanes to yachts. When I mentioned that I loved the sunsets in Florence, he bought a hotel overlooking the Old Bridge without hesitation, just so he could stay there with me for a few days each year."

Xu Zhouye hummed in agreement; it was something his husband, Old Xu, would do.

"Hmm what? Didn't you feel anything after hearing that?" Jiang Yunsheng was dissatisfied with his attitude.

"What was it that triggered?"

"You have to spend money to woo a girl. Where there's money, there's love!"

Xu Zhouye nodded: "You're right."

Jiang Yunsheng was somewhat satisfied; the boy was still teachable.

She paused, then continued, "There's an auction at Christie's next month. I heard there's a sapphire necklace there, a token of love from the Tsar. Go bid on it and give it to the girl."

Xu Zhouye: "Okay, I'll go take a look later."

Jiang Yunsheng was finally satisfied: "Don't forget."

"understood."

After hanging up the phone, Xu Zhouye chuckled softly, got up, went out, and arrived at Song Qingjia's room door with practiced ease.

He took a room key out of his pocket, and with a "beep," the door opened.

Pushing open the door, I found the curtains drawn tightly, making the room so dark that it was impossible to tell whether it was day or night.

Xu Zhouye looked at the large bed in the center. There was a bulge on the bed, and the quilt covered him from head to toe, with only a small section of his hair showing.

Sure enough, she was still asleep.

He tiptoed to the bedside and sat down, reaching out to pull the blanket away from her face. Song Qingjia frowned, turned her head slightly to avoid waking up.

He bent down and gently patted her face: "Baby, wake up."

Song Qingjia felt a constant buzzing in her ears and opened her eyes with a frown.

What came into view was an extremely handsome face.

No matter how handsome someone is, disturbing someone's sleep will make them disliked.

When Xu Zhouye saw that she had woken up, a smile appeared on his lips, and he kissed the corner of her lips.

Song Qingjia hadn't brushed her teeth yet and turned her head to avoid him, but he followed her, gently biting her lower lip: "It's time to get up."

The commotion woke her up completely.

She pushed him aside, frowned, and asked, "How did you get in?"

Xu Zhouye straightened up, his eyebrows twitching as if accusing her of having a goldfish-like memory: "Last night, you forgot?"

Song Qingjia paused for a moment.

last night?

She had drunk quite a bit when she returned from Lanting, and her steps were weak. Xu Zhouye helped her into the room, and then she leaned against the door frame and threw the room key to his chest.

As for why she gave him the room key, she really couldn't remember.

It can only be attributed to the fact that drunkards' behavior doesn't require logic.

Never mind, it's not a big deal.

Xu Zhouye kissed her lips again, then lifted the blanket, put one arm around her waist and the other under her legs, and scooped her up from the bed.

Song Qingjia hooked her arms around his neck: "What are you doing?"

"I'm afraid you'll stay in bed too long, so I'll have to carry you to wash up myself."

He carried her toward the bathroom, pausing as he passed the coffee table. Besides the breakfast he had ordered, there was another untouched dish on it.

Xu Zhouye asked knowingly, "Who sent the other one?"

Song Qingjia rolled her eyes: "Who else could it be?"

Xu Zhouye scoffed, went into the bathroom, placed her in front of the sink, squeezed out some toothpaste, and handed her a toothbrush.

Song Qingjia took it and started brushing her teeth.

Xu Zhouye leaned against the sink, hands in his pockets, looking at her mouth full of foam, and suddenly asked, "So, do you like what I gave you or what he gave you?"

With a mouthful of foam in her mouth, Song Qingjia mumbled, "I'm sorry, I can't choose, because I didn't eat any of theirs."

Xu Zhouye stared at her for two seconds, then chuckled, "You really can't bear to say a single nice word."

Song Qingjia spat out the foam, rinsed her mouth, and looked up at him: "Don't worry, you're a bit better than him. I've said far more hurtful things to him than you have."

Xu Zhouye raised an eyebrow: "Then I'm quite honored."

Song Qingjia: "You really should feel honored."

After she dried her face, Xu Zhouye wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, rested his chin on her shoulder, and looked at the two people in the mirror.

"What do you want to eat tonight? I'll make a reservation at a restaurant."

Song Qingjia glanced at him: "Is there anything else on your mind besides eating?"

"Yes." His lips brushed against her earlobe, his voice lowered, "but I'm afraid you'll bite me if I tell you."

Song Qingjia miraculously connected with his brainwaves and broke free from his embrace.

"Then don't say it."

He smiled, pulled her out of the bathroom, and took out his phone to make a reservation as they walked.

It's still that same private kitchen.

This time there were no flowers, and no surprises.

The two sat facing each other and quietly finished their meal.

Emerging from the private room, the corridor was narrow and long, dimly lit. Song Qingjia walked ahead, with Xu Zhouye following behind, his hands in his pockets.

Around the corner, a person walked towards us. His face was gloomy, and his steps were hurried.

Song Qingjia frowned as she watched Nie Yuhuai stride towards her.

The other person blocked her way, his voice heavy: "Qingjia, something's happened at home. Come back to Jingzhou with me."
