Spring Night Kiss.

Chapter 22 Don't Like Me

The moment Xu Zhouye noticed Nie Yuhuai, he took a step forward and pulled Song Qingjia into his arms.

Nie Yuhuai walked up to the two of them, his gaze sweeping over Xu Zhouye's hands but not looking at him, only staring at Song Qingjia.

"Qingjia, something's happened at home. Come back to Jingzhou with me."

Xu Zhouye subconsciously looked at the girl in his arms. Her expression remained unchanged, only her eyelashes trembled slightly.

"Mr. Nie, you might as well be more specific." He then looked at the man in front of him with a gloomy face. "As for returning to Jingzhou, I won't trouble you. I will take her back myself."

Nie Yuhuai ignored him, reached out and grabbed Song Qingjia's wrist, pulling her outside.

Song Qingjia stumbled forward half a step as he pulled her.

Xu Zhouye quickly shielded her, gripping Nie Yuhuai's fingers, his voice turning cold.

"Let go."

Nie Yuhuai finally turned to look at him, and their eyes met. The air in the corridor hissed as if a fuse had been lit.

"I'm talking to her," Nie Yuhuai said, emphasizing each word.

"She doesn't want to go with you." Xu Zhouye didn't let go.

Song Qingjia struggled, but neither of them let go. She simply stopped moving and looked at Nie Yuhuai: "What is it? Speak."

Nie Yuhuai released her wrist, his hand hanging down, his voice deepening: "Aunt Cheng is sick. She fainted at home and has been taken to the hospital."

Song Qingjia curled her fingers.

"Qingjia, come back with me," Nie Yuhuai repeated.

She still didn't move.

"Song Qingjia." Nie Yuhuai called her name in a deep voice, already suppressing his anger.

Song Qingjia looked up, her clear, sharp eyes meeting his: "Has a critical condition notice been issued?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the corridor fell silent.

Disappointment flashed in Nie Yuhuai's eyes. The gentle girl in his memory overlapped with the one in front of him now, making it hard for him to tell which one was the real her.

She is your mother.

"so what?"

Song Qingjia's tone remained indifferent and calm, as if he were talking about an unrelated person.

But Xu Zhouye could feel it; her hands were trembling. He took her hand in his and squeezed it.

"Mr. Nie, is there anything else? If not, we'll be leaving now."

After saying that, he put his arm around the person, glanced at him, and left.

Nie Yuhuai stood in the corridor, the overhead light casting a long, long shadow. He looked down at his empty hands, remaining motionless for a long time.

The twilight in Suzhou is very short; it gets dark in no time.

The two walked slowly along the riverbank. The evening breeze rippled the surface of the Wusong River, and the lights on the opposite bank shattered into a pool of shimmering points.

The night breeze blew Song Qingjia's long hair up and down, the ends of her hair brushing against Xu Zhouye's cheek.

He reached out to grab it, but the hair slipped through his fingers, leaving only a cool, refreshing touch.

"Miss Song, you didn't go with your brother just now because... you couldn't bear to leave me?"

Song Qingjia paused, turning her head to look at him.

The streetlights cast a half-light, half-shadow on his face. He smiled and spoke with a teasing tone, but there was no joking in his eyes, only a slight worry.

He seemed to be deliberately trying to make her happy.

Song Qingjia suddenly laughed.

"Yes," she said, her voice carried by the wind and somewhat indistinct, "I'll miss you."

She spoke as she walked forward.

Xu Zhouye grabbed her.

"What? Are you pushing your luck?" Song Qingjia asked.

Xu Zhouye hummed in agreement: "Do you need a hug?"

Song Qingjia was stunned for a moment, then opened her arms to hug his waist, buried her face in his chest, and answered him with her actions.

Xu Zhouye tightened his arms around her and kissed her head.

Jiang Feng passed between the two, tangling her skirt with his trouser leg, then untangling it.

"Xu Zhouye".

"Um?"

"Am I particularly cold-blooded?" The woman's voice came from her chest, muffled.

But when her father was critically ill, Cheng Yizhen didn't come.

Xu Zhouye, unaware of the full picture, naturally wouldn't comment easily. He simply patted her back gently, as if coaxing a child.

"A cold-blooded person wouldn't ask this question."

Song Qingjia smiled and said, "Sweet talk."

Xu Zhouye released her, squatted down in front of her, and gestured for her to "get on."

Song Qingjia looked at him, slowly leaned over, and wrapped her arms around his neck. Once she was securely in place, the man carried her to his feet.

"Xu Zhouye, you're making me misunderstand."

"What's the misunderstanding?"

The two strolled leisurely along the riverbank, the wind constantly blowing her hair into his face, which she then brushed away with her hand.

"You misunderstood that you like me." She lowered her voice.

Xu Zhouye chuckled softly upon hearing this, deliberately weighing her in his hand: "Haven't I made it obvious enough?"

Song Qingjia was surprised: "I thought you were just unwilling to accept it."

"I really am not reconciled," Xu Zhouye said. "I put in so much effort and you still say my technique is bad. What man would be willing to accept that?"

Song Qingjia buried her face in his neck and chuckled softly.

Xu Zhouye couldn't stand her smugness, so he deliberately loosened his grip. The woman cried out and hugged him tightly, at the same time wrapping her legs around his waist.

After regaining her balance, she couldn't resist leaning in and biting his neck: "Xu Zhouye, are you looking for a fight?"

"Go ahead and hit me, with your strength, it'll only tickle me." He paused, then added, "You can bite me too, wherever you want."

Song Qingjia let go of his words.

She won't reward him!

Xu Zhouye adjusted her position to make her more comfortable, and they walked along the riverbank like that.

"Don't like me," Song Qingjia said softly.

Xu Zhouye paused, then continued walking forward, as if he hadn't heard.

I don't know how much time passed, but the person on my back tilted their head and fell asleep.

Xu Zhouye glanced at it from the side and stopped.

He freed one hand to make a phone call: "Book two tickets for the earliest return to Jingzhou."

-

Song Qingjia didn't sleep very comfortably, feeling cramped and uncomfortable. When she opened her eyes, she found herself leaning on the shoulder of the man beside her.

It was pitch black outside the window; I was in the car.

Xu Zhouye noticed she was awake, rubbed his hands together, and tilted his head to ask, "Awake?"

Song Qingjia hummed in agreement: "Where to?"

The road outside the window didn't look like a city road, but rather like a highway, and she actually had some guesses about it.

"To Shanghai," Xu Zhouye said, "Hongqiao Airport."

Song Qingjia blinked, sat up, and stared at him intently.

"You only said you didn't want to go with Nie Yuhuai, but you didn't say you didn't want to go with me." Xu Zhouye's tone was very frank.

Song Qingjia: "..."

"They're quite good at using words carefully."

Xu Zhouye chuckled, then pulled her back and rested her head on his shoulder: "Sleep a little longer, we'll be there soon."

Song Qingjia slapped his hand away: "I'm not a pig, I can't sleep that much."

Xu Zhouye did not refute.

At 9:40 PM, the two arrived at Hongqiao Airport. They quickly made their way to the first-class waiting area via the VIP lane.

Xu Zhouye had deliberately worn a baseball cap, pulled the brim low, but some fans still recognized him. Several young women blushed and came over to ask for autographs, which he did.

The other person wanted to continue speaking, so he pointed to Song Qingjia, who was sitting by the window, and shook his finger at them.

The girls understood and tactfully left.

After walking only a few steps, I couldn't resist turning around and secretly taking a picture. In the photo, the handsome driver is looking down and speaking gently to the woman beside him.

The scene was so beautiful that the girls almost couldn't help but scream.

Song Qingjia didn't notice any of this; she was holding a cup of hot cocoa, staring blankly at the helipad outside the glass window.
