Chapter 54 Moriarty: Something's Wrong with This Script
The arrow twitched briefly, then remained still, as if it were just an illusion.
After studying it for a while and finding nothing, Fren stopped paying attention to it.
As time passed, the temperature in the forest dropped further, and the moisture condensed on the surfaces of leaves and other objects, making Fren's clothes damp.
Before the sun had even risen, a few drops of dew were already falling.
Fren waited quietly until dawn broke and a corner of the sun peeked over the horizon, casting golden sunlight into the mountains and forests. Fren caught a drop of dew and drank it.
Feeling the changes in his body, Fren understood.
When his mental energy leaves his body, he thrives at night. However, after being exposed to sunlight, the clarity and range of his perception decrease to some extent.
The ceremony ended with this drop of dew, like an antibody, giving Fren's spirit a limited immunity.
"It seems I need to be more careful using this ability during the day from now on."
Clean up the ceremony site and stuff everything into your wallet.
Looking at the small wallet's inner compartment, which could hold such a large ore, Furen was curious about the workings.
Furen casually discarded the remaining ginkgo fruits. As for the pupae, he crushed them and sent them back to dust. He let the one that flew away go, but if the rest hatched together, it might lead to an invasion of the species.
While the invasion of species in the extraordinary world wouldn't be that simple, Furen didn't want to try it; he'd rather respect nature.
It was already eight o'clock in the morning when we got back to the manor.
Floren transformed into a little green man and basked in the sun for a while, saving himself the time of eating breakfast.
On an ordinary Sunday, Fren planned to catch up on sleep and then finish his university science and technology courses as soon as possible.
Such a leisurely weekend is a rare treat for Floren.
So much has happened in the last two weeks that he hasn't been able to sit down and enjoy a nice afternoon tea like he has today in a long time.
Meanwhile, somewhere on this continent, James Moriarty wasn't feeling so good.
Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes primarily operates in Britain, the Middle East, Serbia, and Afghanistan. London is his home turf, while other locations are more chaotic, which facilitates Moriarty's activities. After all, the better the order in a place, the smaller the ripples his crimes can create.
Moriarty here is the same; he selectively avoids the more powerful countries of the East, the West, and Scania in the New World.
Moriarty rarely visited Berlin, the capital of the Eastern Kingdom. If it weren't for Holmes and Sherlock Holmes, Moriarty wouldn't have been here, nor would he have set his sights on Fren.
Naturally, they wouldn't want anyone to kidnap Joel Blair.
Moriarty didn't have many people in Berlint, and even fewer high-ranking superhumans. Now, half of them had been lost because of Joel Blair.
The other half were arrested.
He was arrested by the State Security Bureau.
In an apartment, Moriarty's consciousness left his body, and he decided to abandon his base in Berlin.
This loss is nothing to Moriarty; this isn't his home turf. He can always buy information about Berlint later through other means.
In a quiet little town, Moriarty fell into deep thought, a multitude of thoughts swirling and colliding within him. He couldn't understand why, in just two or three days, the situation in Berlin had undergone such a dramatic change for him.
Moriarty had gathered intelligence on Mycroft Holmes and conducted psychological profiling of him. This Mr. Holmes, who appeared to be enjoying a harmonious relationship with his family, was actually a completely cold-blooded animal.
Sherlock cares about many things, such as Watson, his landlady, and his family far away in Berlin. But Mycroft is an extremely rational machine.
Among the Sherlock Holmes family, the one most similar to the terrifying Holmes is Mycroft.
Moriarty could sense that Orlos harbored a deep-seated hatred for his family. But Mycroft... Moriarty didn't know what Orlos truly cared about.
Oros is a vengeful sun, while Mycroft is a deep, dark sea. Mycroft's abilities may not be as great as Oros', but he poses no less of a threat to Moriarty.
Therefore, in manipulating Sherlock, Moriarty had to take into account Mycroft and Euryth's thoughts in every action.
Before Charlotte's death, Moriarty wanted him to experience a precipitous breakdown. So sudden, it's believed, that neither Mycroft nor Orros would have time to react.
He would watch Sherlock fall from the high building, crashing onto the cold ground, his wounds appearing as if they had burst open.
His jaw was dislocated, and his entire head was stretched out.
The contents were squeezed out from the laceration in the abdomen.
The intestines and internal organs were stuck to the belly, resembling a strange flower.
Sherlock is a fragile mage with wind-based abilities. His physique is 2.3 times that of an ordinary person, and a fall from a great height is enough to kill him.
Moriarty had seen many of these flowers, and he believed that painting them with Shylock pigments would be even more beautiful.
This process is extremely risky, because even the slightest flaw could reveal Moriarty's true intentions to Mycroft and Orlos.
Mycroft is hard to say, but Oros will not allow Moriarty to get involved in her revenge.
As far as Moriarty knew, the family member whom Eurus hated most was Shylock.
Moriarty firmly believed this, and was absolutely convinced of it.
But now, why would Mycroft attack him?
Could it be because of Francessoko?
What a joke, Mycroft doesn't even care about his own brother.
Moriarty repeatedly used coincidences unrelated to Sherlock to put him in danger, thus proving Mycroft's bottom line regarding his family.
Mycroft was simply concerned with Sherlock's safety and investigating those around Sherlock, based on his basic familial responsibilities.
As for how Sherlock is doing or whether those around him are in danger, that's completely outside Mycroft's considerations.
It seems that whenever Sherlock is in danger, Mycroft is always there to show his brotherly concern.
But that's not the case; Mycroft was simply dealing with the trouble Sherlock had caused to ensure it wouldn't affect his own political career.
Moriarty was certain that his profile of Mycroft was correct.
Moriarty's attempt to ascertain Francessoko's stance through Joel Blair must be entirely within Mycroft's red lines.
Why would Mycroft allow the NSA to target him?
