Magical Cat

Chapter 99 Exposed

"Hey, you took favors from me before!"

When Cobra couldn't win the argument with the old dean, he started bringing up old grievances with Lee.

Li En's gaze drifted into the distance, looking out over the balcony at the distant night sky.

"Oh dear, it was just a few days of intimate contact with your seed of life, and we were even separated by a condom. How dare you bring that up again?"

Li En secretly grumbled to himself, but didn't dare to say it out loud. After all, he couldn't afford to offend either side, and there might be future collaborations.

After completing the mission, the Seed of Life became less important to Li En, and he gradually grew to disdain the magical power he absorbed every night while accompanying Brian in his studies.

Now that there's a chance to "transfer," it would be a lie to say that Lee Eun isn't tempted.

Moreover, the old dean was very sincere and offered Li En some real benefits, didn't he?

Seeing the shifty look in Li En's eyes, Corbyn knew that the little cat was up to something.

"Do you think all experiments are that easy? That old guy might be planning a live dissection," Cobra threatened.

Li En wasn't buying it; he simply glanced silently at the old dean.

The old man made a point of coming to the library during the day to say hello, clearly trying to get closer to Li En beforehand.

Moreover, given their status in the academy and their own abilities, Li En didn't actually have many options.

Being willing to negotiate with him is already quite civilized.

Most importantly, competition between the two sides is what allows Lee Eun to gain the greatest benefit.

"Cobra, you're getting on in years, have some shame. What kind of skill is it to scare a kitten?" the old headmaster mocked.

"Little kitty, I have a great reputation in the academy. If you don't believe me, go and ask around. I'm at least a hundred thousand times better than that old geezer, Brian!"

"Old man, are you deliberately trying to cause trouble?" Corbrain immediately summoned his staff.

Not to be outdone, the old dean pulled out a magic wand that looked like an ivory chopstick from somewhere and pointed it at Brian, the prospective examinee.

If it weren't for the faintly terrifying aura emanating from the wand, Li En would have really thought the old headmaster had pulled out chopsticks.

"It's been a while since we've sparred. How about we try it out tonight?"

As the old dean spoke, a barrier appeared around them, enveloping them.

The barrier was small, even quite narrow, merely enclosing the space where the two people were standing.

Li En suddenly felt a bit short of breath, and the magic power within him also subsided, not as active as usual.

"Ugh, it's that barrier again, even worse than last time."

Previously, when Kobrain and Sophia fought, a similar barrier rose up and controlled their magical damage.

Now, experiencing it up close, Li En felt that his magic had subsided, making it difficult to cast spells.

"So this was the old dean's method, a barrier mage, or something?"

Li En observed the barrier surrounding them.

Corbyn's face was ashen as he silently confronted the old dean.

An invisible pressure spread within the barrier, making it increasingly difficult for Li En to breathe, and he was already feeling a bit suffocated.

Suddenly, Corbrain put away his staff.

The old dean opposite also smiled and lifted the barrier.

"Hey, are you really going to participate in his experiment?" Corbyn asked Lien.

Li En didn't speak, but silently looked at the Tree of Life fruit.

He wants that thing.

"Tsk, what a greedy cat," Cobra muttered, then turned and went to the balcony.

"Remember, one day per person, that's the limit of my concessions." After saying that, Corbyn used Flash and disappeared from the spot.

Lee En was somewhat surprised to see that Kao Brian had conceded.

I thought Corbyn wouldn't be so easy to talk to.

The old dean breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Corbyn had left. He was really afraid that Corbyn's stubborn temper would flare up and he would never let it go.

At that point, for the safety of the academy, he would have no choice but to give up.

But to his surprise, things went much more smoothly than he had expected.

"Kitty, this is yours."

The fruit of the Tree of Life in the old dean's hand floated up on its own and came to Li En.

"You can just eat it."

Li En could already smell the aroma of the fruit, and his mouth watered as if his stomach had been whetted.

Upon hearing this, he immediately opened his mouth without hesitation and swallowed the fruit in two or three bites.

The fruit of the Tree of Life looked hard, but it was actually quite crisp and refreshing to eat, and Li En didn't have to chew it too much.

After the fruit entered his stomach, it was as if he had swallowed an entire forest. Vibrant life began to flourish within him, and external elements were also attracted and gathered into Li En's body on their own.

This feeling is incredibly captivating to cats.

Li En closed his eyes and carefully felt the changes within his body.

"It will take at least one or two months to fully digest the effects of the Tree of Life fruit, so there's no need to rush. Just take your time," the old dean explained.

Hearing this, Li En was overjoyed. He hadn't expected that this comfortable state could last for so long.

Wouldn't he be incredibly happy?

Just as Li Enzheng was beaming with joy, the old dean sat back down behind his desk and beckoned to Li Enzheng.

"Now that you've accepted my bribe, let's get to work."

Li En was very sensible and jumped onto the table, then lay down sprawled out, forming the shape of the Chinese character "木" (wood).

"Meow (Don't pity me just because I'm a delicate flower)~"

The old dean couldn't help but twitch his eyebrows at Li En's unrestrained posture.

"Uh... I don't know what kind of experiments you did with Brian, but mine are different."

The old dean said in a very serious tone.

"I'm not actually looking for you because of the experiment; I have other purposes."

Upon hearing this, Li En sat up abruptly, covering her chest.

"Meow, woof! (Dean, I sell my body, not my skills!)"

"Meow~ Meow~ (No~ No~)"

Li En kept kicking backward with his two long legs, trying to widen the distance.

Although the old dean didn't understand cat language, he could tell that Li En was deliberately teasing him.

"I know you can talk. You don't need to meow anymore. You can communicate with me directly using your demonic thoughts."

The strange meowing suddenly stopped.

Li En squinted as he sized up the old dean.

He knew that the old man's visit today was definitely not a simple matter.

"Did Brian tell you that?"

Now that the old dean already knew that he could communicate with demonic thoughts, Li En no longer hid it.

Within the academy, only Elaine, Melina, and Corbyn knew that Li En could communicate with demonic thoughts.

No one else had heard Li En speak.

The old dean shook his head and explained, "You can think of it this way: the entire school is under my surveillance. Even if the magical fluctuations caused by the communication of demonic thoughts are well concealed, they will still be noticed by me."

Li En recalled the old dean's ability to create barriers several times, and knew that what the other party said was probably true.

A fleeting sense of panic crossed Li En's mind. As Corbyn had previously said, this magical communication was not exclusive to the Unity Society.

His ability to do so does not imply anything else.

"Then I wonder why the dean wanted to see me?"

"Let me make this clear first: even if we don't do the experiment, I won't spit out the fruit."

The old dean was amused by what Li En said.

But then his expression turned serious.

"I'd like to ask, what is your relationship with the Tongxin Association?"
