Wizard's Journey
Chapter 1957 Sandworm Attack
Chapter 1955 Sandworm Attack
One day later.
Green also woke up, but Drowned Tower was more like the princess's loyal guard than Green, staying by Millie's side almost every step of the way.
"This is the sweetest fruit in Mudalmo, called Young Scale. It is rich in vitality and only the most prestigious nobles in the Kingdom of Mudalmo are qualified to enjoy it. My father obtained a few by chance and preserved them with ice-energy sand crystals. Now, only someone of your esteemed status is qualified to enjoy it."
The bright red fruit, resembling a flame, is quite similar to the dragon fruit in the Wizarding World, but it is even more fragrant, probably because the harsh living environment makes it more delicious and fragrant.
Poor Green was ignored by the Drowning Tower after he woke up.
After all, he was just a follower who accompanied Millie. In this world ruled by sandworms, the difference in strength between ordinary humans was limited to the individual level and could not achieve a qualitative change to surpass the group.
With elegant movements, Nita cut the young unicorn fruit into delicate petal shapes and served it on a crystal plate mixed with ice shavings. Such treatment in the desert was something even royalty wouldn't receive. But that wasn't all. Nita then beckoned behind her with her hand adorned with a gemstone ring. The servant quickly popped the cork off a bottle of red wine with a "pop" and poured it onto the ice shavings of the young unicorn fruit, allowing the fresh, cool aroma of the melting ice shavings to fully blend.
Green seemed like a wise man observing biological instincts, silently watching all of this unfold, recalling his time as a wizard apprentice.
"Oh, you are too kind, sir, to entertain me with such valuable gifts."
Millie looked embarrassed as she played the role of a princess of a fallen kingdom, trying her best to adapt to her character and experience her third life with Green.
"Just call me Drowning Tower. I hope we can treat each other sincerely like friends along the way, don't you think?"
Drowning Tower gazed intently at Millie, who feigned shyness.
Logically speaking, if someone openly seduces one's wife in front of them, even a wizard would be furious. However, the strange thing is that although Grimm and Millie tried their best to immerse themselves in the various worlds, they still did not forget their essential nature as higher students, and treated it merely as a game, an experience.
Just then.
The noise outside the door gradually turned chaotic. Lost in his reverie, Nita was reminded by a servant behind him, "Young Master, it's a sandworm attack!"
The servant's voice was filled with terror, but Drowned Tower, who had already sailed several times, quickly regained his composure and reassured Millie, "Don't worry, this is the largest desert ship, with ample water reserves. Moreover, there are some secret weapons on board, and we have experience dealing with even those large sand worms that are over ten meters long."
After a reassuring smile, Drown Tower and his entourage made a series of thuds as they headed toward the deck, with Green following silently.
Roar……
Opening the wooden door reveals two completely different worlds on and below deck.
With a thud, a guy fell down in front of Nita and Green, his face full of panic, and crawled backward. However, before he could recover, a sand worm about two meters long suddenly pounced on him. Its sandy yellow keratin layer was as hard as metal, and its barbs left a dense number of bloody holes on the servant's body, thoroughly injuring him.
"Help me! Help me!"
The servant struggled with all his might, trying to push away the thing that was entangled him. The barbs piercing his body caused him excruciating pain. He pressed his hands tightly against the head of the sand worm, which had opened its six petal-like mandibles. His eyes were closed with tears in his eyes, filled with utter terror and despair.
Green also realized the situation.
These four Desert Ships caravans were unlucky, as they encountered an attack by a swarm of sandworms. Compared to the two-meter and three- or four-meter sandworms leaping out from under the dunes, the adult female sandworm, which was being dealt with by numerous high-pressure water cannons, was the real behemoth.
With a "boom," the mother sandworm was hit by the high-pressure water gun and slammed into the bow of the ship. The entire desert ship was sent flying several meters away. Several unlucky creatures fell into the sand dunes and, before they could struggle for long, were torn apart by hundreds of palm-sized juvenile sandworms. Not even bones were left; all that could be seen was the churning sand that looked like boiling water.
Generally speaking, this is the largest sand worm swarm that the Desert Ship merchant fleet can handle. If a more advanced sand worm or a larger sand worm swarm appears, the merchant fleet will be doomed.
On the deck, the portly merchant was drenched in sweat, and several servants holding water bags were staggering around him. Large sections of the deck were broken. The steward was still in shock; he had almost been crushed to pieces by the mother sandworm. Even now, his hands holding the high-pressure water gun were trembling uncontrollably. If even the steward, who had the best mental fortitude, was like this, one can only imagine how the others were.
Compared to the desert worm, these humans struggling to survive seem so insignificant.
"Quick, quick, bring me some water!"
The drowning tower shouted to the servant beside it, and at the same time picked up the mast next to it and dripped it hard onto the head of the servant who was being pressed down by the sand worm, preventing the sand worm's terrifying mouth from falling. The foul-smelling, sticky saliva flowed out in a thin thread.
Terrified screams and wails filled the air. The creature trapped under the sandworm was already covered in wounds from its barbs as it struggled. It was certain it wouldn't survive without help. In that critical moment, Green had to grab a backhand knife that had rolled down nearby and chop it at the sandworm's head.
With a "clang," as if striking a thick layer of armor, Green's knife cut off several barbs and became stuck in the sandworm's hard keratin layer.
"It's no use, they've already left the larval stage and grown their carapaces!"
Drowning Tower roared, the wooden mast in its hand was clearly no longer able to support it, making a "creaking" sound, and it might break at any moment. The servant who was pressed under the sandworm was bleeding a lot of blood from his wounds, and his body gradually went limp and his consciousness began to blur.
Grimm remained silent. In this world's setting, Grimm was Millie's most loyal bodyguard and one of the strongest warriors among ordinary humans, so there was no need for further explanation.
The backhand blade in this world is quite interesting; it has a reversed blade, shaped like a crescent moon. After withdrawing his backhand blade, Green swung it down again without saying a word.
A miracle has occurred!
As Green's second strike landed precisely on the same spot in the sandworm, this time with a "thud," Green's blade completely disappeared into the sandworm's body along the opening created by the previous strike.
Roar...
After struggling violently twice, the sandworm slumped over, releasing a large amount of green liquid, its body gradually collapsing, like a lump of dead flesh, onto the unconscious servant. At this moment, the servant who had gone to fetch water hurriedly returned with a water bag, wasting a lot of water in his panic as he poured it onto the sandworm's corpse. Strangely, even though the sandworm was dead, the water still reacted violently with it, like the strongest molten acid, corroding large areas of the sandworm's body.
"Don't waste water!"
Drowning Tower shouted at the utterly panicked servant, stopping him from wasting water. Then, panting, he looked at Green and said, "Your skill is impressive. You actually killed a growing sandworm with your bare hands. You truly deserve to be Her Highness the Princess's personal guard."
Green said indifferently, "I heard His Majesty the King say that in the face of a true warrior, there is nothing that cannot be cut down; if one strike is not enough, then two will do."
On the deck of the Desert Ship, sandworms would occasionally leap from the dunes to hunt the crew members above for food, while the crew members would constantly fight back with water as their most lethal weapon. Drowning Tower, who was talking to Green, suddenly noticed the danger to his father. With a loud shout, he disregarded everything else and rushed towards the fat, pig-like merchant.
Green also noticed what was happening over there.
After killing a servant, a larger sandworm, three meters long, threw its body off the desert ship. In the blink of an eye, it was torn apart by countless larvae, each less than a meter long, hidden beneath the sand. It then fed the larvae and rushed towards the merchant.
At this moment, Green saw the merchant frantically pull out a paper bag from his sleeve, looking distressed, and throw the bag at the sandworms as he ran away.
Red powder filled the air.
"Uh! Chili powder?"
Strangely, the sandworms covered in chili powder seemed to have gone mad. They not only stopped chasing the merchants, but after struggling desperately on the deck for a while, they rolled off the desert ship, disappeared into the sand dunes, and vanished.
