Wizard's Journey
Chapter 1958 Your Highness
Chapter 1956 Your Highness
"Oh crap..."
Covered in chili powder and grime, but thankfully saved his life, the pot-bellied merchant, his face flushed and neck red, scrambled over, shouted "Hold on!" to the steward, and then went down below deck without looking back.
The ship of the desert is constructed entirely of ironwood, so it is not afraid of the impact of small sandworms.
After a moment's thought, Green had some insights. Chili peppers love sunshine but can't tolerate high temperatures, and they love water but are easily drowned. They have quite high requirements for the environment. In addition, the harsh land environment and depleted natural resources of this world mean that food is not enough, let alone these seasonings from the wizarding world. It is likely that only nobles would carefully cultivate them and collect them as special seasonings to become special tools for fighting sandworms.
After about an hourglass's time, the caravan gradually calmed down, the adult female sandworms died, and the baby sandworms scattered.
Of the four merchant ships, the largest and sturdiest lead ship was severely damaged, with its bow twisted and deformed and a minor leak in the water tank, which was repaired in time. Of the fifty-four people, forty-one remained. The loss was considerable, which illustrates the enormous risks associated with the high profits of the caravan. A slight mishap could lead to total annihilation.
"Your Highness Millie, I'm so sorry to have startled you."
While the people above were still cleaning the deck with sand, Drowning Tower, now dressed in clean clothes, returned to Millie's room, serving her exquisite porcelain tea with a fragrant aroma that soothed her soul.
"If it weren't for these wicked sandworms, my warriors wouldn't have perished in the sea of sand..."
As she finished speaking, seemingly recalling painful memories, Millie appeared melancholy and lost in thought.
Seven days later.
During the journey, the caravan encountered two more sandworm attacks, but these were small-scale attacks by adult sandworms. After the caravan dealt with them carefully, the group finally arrived at their destination, Isulman.
The oasis's humidity made breathing seem easier, and thorny vegetation gradually grew on the surrounding sand. In the distance, one could vaguely see green vegetation and large city-state buildings, as well as the sound of flowing water that was particularly sensitive in the sandstorm world!
"Oh ho, we've arrived in Isulman!"
The crew was ecstatic. It meant that after more than half a month of dangerous voyage, the group could finally rest and enjoy the fruits of their hard-won experience.
Millie, accompanied by Green, came to the bow of the ship and looked at the towering city wall in the distance, preparing to spend her third life with Green.
"Your Highness Millie, do you have any plans? I'm quite familiar with this city, having visited twice before and having some dealings with some of the local nobles. If you don't mind, I'd be happy to introduce you..."
"No."
Millie gazed at the distant city-state, her smile sweet. Her disguised white hair was blown by the oasis breeze, making her look so holy, noble, elegant, and beautiful that Nita was infatuated and willing to give everything for the beauty before him.
However, Millie's sudden rejection struck Drowning Tower like a bolt from the blue. His face turned deathly pale as he stared at Millie in disbelief.
Millie, seemingly oblivious, said in a gentle yet warm tone, "When I was a princess, everyone revered and loved me. I spent every day under their gaze, being the beloved princess."
Suddenly, Millie's smile became as radiant as the sun. She opened her arms wide, as if she had unloaded all her burdens and become a different person. With a beaming smile, she said, "Now, I've lost everything I once had, but I've finally gained the chance to start over. I've gained true freedom that belongs only to me. I no longer need to care about the world's opinions; I can live this life simply as myself!"
Drowning Tower stared at Millie in disbelief.
If her previous longing for Millie was based on a yearning for nobility and beauty, then seeing Millie in her completely new form at this moment, Nita felt as if she had met the love of her life in an instant. This was an unprecedented feeling, and she was willing to do everything she could for the person in front of her unconditionally!
"Princess Millie, then let me protect you for the rest of my life!"
The drowning tower shouted even more forcefully. This sudden shout naturally attracted the attention of the others on the deck. Even the pot-bellied merchant father in the distance was startled and hurriedly ran over. When Green saw this scene, even if he treated life as a game, he couldn't help but feel a black line on his forehead. This kind of passionate love and hate was something that wizards lacked. When he saw others having it, he was extremely envious.
Thump, thump, thump, thump...
The fat man jogged over and slapped the drowning tower on the back of the head, scolding, "What nonsense are you spouting? Who do you think you are!"
After saying that, the fat man's smiling eyes narrowed into slits as he said to Millie, "Your Highness, after we finish trading here, we will rest for a while before heading back. The journey will inevitably be bumpy and dangerous, which is really not suitable for someone of your noble status to travel on. My youngest son, Nita, is still young and ignorant, and he has offended me in many ways. I am truly sorry."
The fat man certainly didn't want to drown in the tower, because that would mean that carrying Millie would be a voluntary sacrifice.
Millie consumed quite a few luxury goods along the way. Not to mention how much she earned, if she couldn't even recoup her initial investment, the old man's business career would be tarnished.
No one knew where the fat man got his strength, but he pressed down hard on the drowning tower, his eyes narrowed into slits.
Millie understood immediately and took the necklace off her neck. With a "snap," a red gem fell from the necklace, and a huge energy fluctuation instantly spread and began to emanate. Even the Drowning Tower, which had been held down by its father, was involuntarily stunned and shocked by the gem in front of it.
"This Desert Crystal is a level five sand crystal, the empire's most precious treasure. Now that the empire has fallen, it is no longer needed. Since you saved me, I will give you this Desert Crystal as a token of my gratitude."
As she spoke, Millie handed the Desert Crystal to the fat man.
The fat man's eyes widened, his breath trembled, and his excitement was palpable.
Why bother being a merchant? With this Desert Crystal, as long as I present it to the royal family, I'll become a nobleman!
Compared to this desert crystal, what are the goods I'm transporting, or even my few desert ships?
"Thank you, thank you!"
After the fat man accepted the Desert Crystal with both hands, Drowning Tower realized that at this moment, he had lost the princess forever, and his only connection with her had been replaced by an energy stone by his father.
Millie continued gazing at the city-state drawing ever closer in the distance, then suddenly took Green's hand and said, "My loyal guard, will you follow me and protect me for life?"
Green knelt on one knee and said calmly, "Of course I'm willing, my princess."
Although they were still outside the city walls, they could gradually see the houses, which meant that the humidity here had reached a level that the sandworms could hardly bear. Millie suddenly said to the fat merchant, "Let's stay here, we need to go down."
"here?"
The fat man looked at the desolation around him and asked, puzzled.
Yes, here!
Millie looked completely certain, and even Green beside her had no idea what she was thinking.
