As soon as the pebbles fell, a thin layer of mist rose in the courtyard.

The fog was so faint that it was almost invisible, and even in broad daylight, it was extremely difficult to detect its existence.

When Wang Ermao and Zhao Siyan jumped into the courtyard, they didn't sense anything was wrong.

"Er Mao, where does that idiot live?" Zhao Si asked in a low voice.

"The main house is in front," Wang Ermao pointed ahead.

The two of them crouched low and tiptoed toward Chen Yuanbao's room.

But as they walked, the two of them realized something was wrong.

Chen Yuanbao's house was just a few steps away, but they walked for ages and still couldn't get there.

"Er Mao, why do I feel like something's not right?" Zhao Si asked nervously.

"You know what, I also think something's not right." Wang Ermao also stopped and looked around.

But after looking at it, the two of them became even more confused.

The courtyard isn't big, so why does it feel so foggy all around, and why can't I see anything clearly?

"Damn it, is it foggy?" Wang Ermao cursed.

"Why is there fog so late at night?" Zhao Si asked, his eyes trembling. "Er Mao, I feel like something's off."

"Stop talking nonsense!" Wang Ermao said, mustering his courage. "Let's keep looking."

The two continued walking, and after a while they realized they were back by the fence.

"What the hell!" Wang Ermao slapped his thigh. "How did we end up back here?"

"No, no..." Zhao Si said, sweating profusely, "Er Mao, I think there's something wrong with this place. Let's leave quickly!"

"Leave? Where are you going!" Wang Ermao said through gritted teeth. "The task Brother Dazhuang assigned us hasn't been completed yet!"

After changing directions, the two started exploring again.

So the two walked for about half an hour, circling the yard more than a dozen times, but still couldn't find where Chen Yuanbao's house was.

Later, both of them became disoriented, unable to distinguish east from west, feeling as if they were in a maze.

"Er Mao, I can't go on, my legs are too weak..." Zhao Siyan sat down on the ground with a thud, his face pale.

"Damn it, we've run into something dirty!" Wang Ermao was terrified. He pulled out a fruit knife from his pocket and waved it wildly, muttering, "Great Immortal, spare us! Great Immortal, spare us! We didn't mean to..."

Chen Yuanbao hid behind the window and watched with great interest, almost bursting out laughing.

These two were incredibly audacious, regarding the maze he had set up as something filthy.

But that works too, so he doesn't have to say anything.

Seeing that it was about time, Chen Yuanbao took out two small pebbles from his sleeve, gathered a wisp of spiritual energy and injected it into them, then flicked his finger.

"Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Two pebbles flew through the air and struck Wang Ermao and Zhao Siyan in the legs respectively.

According to the "Immobilization Technique" in the "Taiqing Xuanyuan Gong", the two pebbles hit the two people's acupoints, making them unable to move immediately.

"Ah! My leg!" Wang Ermao screamed and collapsed to the ground.

"Me too... I can't move my legs..." Zhao Siyan was also terrified.

The two people sat slumped in the yard, like two fish out of water, only able to cry out, unable to move their limbs.

"Help! Help!"

"Great Immortal, please spare us! We'll never dare to do it again!"

The two cried out in the courtyard, but their voices were not loud because Chen Yuanbao's bewitching array absorbed most of the sound, and no one else in the village could hear them.

Chen Yuanbao heard the two men's screams from inside the house and laughed until his stomach hurt.

"Okay, okay, keep it down, you're keeping me awake," Chen Yuanbao said coldly through the window.

The two people were so frightened by the voices inside the house that they dared not scream and lay trembling on the ground.

"Fool...Uncle Chen...Uncle Chen, spare us!" Wang Ermao finally realized what was happening and pleaded at the top of his lungs, "We were forced into this by Brother Dazhuang, it has nothing to do with us!"

"Yes, yes, we're just errand runners, the money is all Brother Dazhuang's idea!" Zhao Siyan quickly clarified.

Chen Yuanbao ignored the two of them and went back to the kang (heated brick bed) to continue his cultivation.

Leave those two small fish in the yard to freeze overnight, then clean them up the next morning.

The night wind was cold, and the two thugs, dressed in very little clothing, were shivering from the cold but unable to move, only able to tremble on the ground.

"Er Mao... I'm cold..."

"Don't say anything, just bear with it..."

"Big Zhuang has really screwed us over this time..."

The two of them, shivering and complaining in hushed tones, spent the entire night in Chen Yuanbao's courtyard.

……

The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, Chen Yuanbao woke up.

He cultivated all night last night and felt that his spiritual energy had become much richer.

He stretched and then jumped off the kang (a heated brick bed), cooked some porridge, ate it, and then slowly opened the gate to the courtyard.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw two "big gifts" lying in the yard.

Wang Ermao and Zhao Siyan had been frozen all night, their faces turning purple and their lips blue. But when Chen Yuanbao came out, their eyes lit up with hope.

"Grandpa Chen... help me..."

"Uncle Chen, we were wrong, we'll never do it again..."

Chen Yuanbao ignored them, first removing the bewildering array, and then picking up and storing the stones in the yard.

I had just finished doing all that when I heard a noise outside.

When the villagers got up early to work, they passed by Chen Yuanbao's house and immediately saw two people lying in the yard.

"Huh? What's going on?" An old man carrying a hoe also stopped.

"How come there are two people in Chen Yuanbao's house?"

"Aren't these Wang Ermao and Zhao Siyan from Li Dazhuang's family? Why are they lying in Chen Yuanbao's yard?"

In no time, a large number of villagers gathered in front of Chen Yuanbao's house to watch the spectacle.

Chen Yuanbao then slowly walked out, scratching his head with an endearing, bewildered smile: "Oh dear, how come you two brothers fell asleep after dancing so much at my house?"

"Dancing?" The villagers were taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter.

An old woman laughed so hard she couldn't stand up straight: "Silly boy, is that dancing? Does she think she's going to steal your things?"

Chen Yuanbao said in surprise, "Steal things? What could be stolen from our house? I only have a dilapidated mud-brick house, and the pots are already rusty."

The villagers were buzzing with speculation, wondering why the two were lying in Chen Yuanbao's yard.

Just then, Li Dazhuang came running over, panting.

He sent Wang Ermao and Zhao Siyan to steal something last night, but neither of them came back all night. He noticed something was wrong early this morning and rushed over.

As soon as he arrived near Chen Yuanbao's house, he saw a group of people gathered there, and Li Dazhuang immediately felt very nervous.
