Chapter 73 Summary

Ding ding ding ding!

Volume One is finished!

Finish spreading flowers!

The End!

……

Just kidding, if I were to end the book here, I'd probably be drowned in razor blades.

Okay, let's get down to business. If you don't want to hear my rants or nonsense, you can skip this chapter; it won't affect what follows at all.

Are there any gentlemen who followed the previous book? If so, raise your hand here so I can see how many people I've hurt.

After the outline of "Source of Magic" disappeared, I specifically said that I would change my identity to write original works. Don't call me a liar, I actually did write it. I created a new account, wrote a 30,000-word opening, and submitted it with great confidence and excitement.

I was rejected...

So, feeling disheartened, I spent two months at home indulging in decadence (eating, drinking, and having fun). It wasn't until the end of September that I had the idea of writing another HP fanfic (mainly because I hadn't really had enough of the previous one).

So I got right to it and wrote another 30,000 words (which is the beginning of this book), and confidently submitted it to an editor in the light novel category.

And then I was rejected again...

Suddenly I felt like the sky was falling and the earth was splitting open. Had I really become this worthless?

So I spent another month wasting my time at school (eating, drinking, and having fun).

But just being decadent (eating, drinking, and having fun) isn't a solution. I had a bunch of good ideas in my head with nowhere to release them, so I could only pick up the beginning of this rejected book again, improve the early outline, and slowly write some more, working on it sporadically.

Finally, at the end of October, I stopped submitting my work (my old editor for fantasy left the company) and posted it directly in the fantasy category.

I didn't change a single word at the beginning; it was exactly the same as when it was rejected. When I had published more than 10,000 words, my current editor, Jiang Cha, sent me a private message announcing my signing (I'm so grateful to the boss for taking in this unwanted child).

Heaven have mercy! There were so many twists and turns when I was writing this book. Several times I even thought about starting a new original book on a different account.

But so far, they've managed to persevere.

At first, the initial push wasn't very effective. After two weeks of continuous testing, I asked for votes from you guys in the author's notes. You guys really went all out! From that day on, the number of daily recommendation votes was four or five times higher than before. This made me, a nobody, extremely grateful, prostrate myself in gratitude, and feel I could never repay you enough, except to offer my body... Pshaw! That won't do.

Things got much better after that. The current data is already better than my last abandoned book. Of course, although the future is very bright, I still need your support! (Don't forget to vote for it today! Love you!)

Now that the rant is over, let's talk about the plot.

Professor Fox was inspired by Nick Wilde when I was watching Zootopia (he's really cool), and that's where Professor Fox's surname comes from.

I wanted to write a cool and somewhat cunning Defense Against the Dark Arts professor with a tragic past but a kind heart. So, Professor Fox, who tricked Lynn into buying him beer and hot pot upon first meeting him, discovered that he was a helpless orphan, and then sponsored his schooling under the guise of investment, had his own secrets, and was misunderstood and disliked by his students but didn't care, was born.

I actually wanted to give him a tragic ending in the end, but I was too soft-hearted and didn't let him die (he still has scenes to come).

Since we didn't kill him off, let's punish him by making him become a magician in Muggle society!

With this in mind, I made arrangements for his future fate.

The first volume is basically about Professor Fox's story, while Lynn's background is just a side story. I didn't delay the plot to reveal the mystery of his background, and you can find it in the next volume.

To the dismay of the gentleman who has been eagerly anticipating Hermione's return, this next volume is a short story, but one I've always wanted to write (because it also features a very cool character). However, the story isn't set at Lynn's house, but somewhere else entirely.

Here he will encounter a group of very interesting people (this is my own interpretation), and also experience some shocks.

As for whether I'll follow the original storyline once it officially begins...

Of course not, just wait, you'll want it in first grade, you'll want it blah blah blah...

Okay, I've rambled on enough. Now that I've finished writing this, I'm going to sleep. I have class first thing tomorrow morning, and it's auditing, which I hate the most (I want to sleep in and skip class).

Finally, I would like to thank all my lovely readers again for your support, and especially thank the following gentlemen for their donations:
