Chapter 380 Martin the Rumor Spreader

Chapter 380 Martin the Rumor Spreader

As filming neared its end, the focus shifted to the intense conflict between the Joker and Batman.

Seeing Martin grinning and laughing with people on set every day made Bale so irritable he wanted to kill someone.

Furthermore, after the hospital bombing scene, inspired by Nicholson, Martin added a bit of improvisation to his performance, opening his mouth wide to make a "bang" sound like an explosion when he was laughing maniacally.

Nolan thinks it's great, it fits the Joker's unrestrained and manic nature perfectly, and he strongly supports Martin.

But whenever Bell saw that lip movement and heard that slight "thump" sound, she would instinctively clench her legs together, feeling an inexplicable surge of anger.

Even at night, I would wake up again and again from the tearing pain of nightmares.

Bell's mental state deteriorated, and he was filled with pent-up anger that needed to be released.

Director Nolan was particularly satisfied with Bale's performance. Bale only needed to put on the Batsuit and, without much acting, he was a Batman who was completely enraged by the Joker and ready to use any means that crossed the line.

Apart from Nolan himself, no one knows whether he did anything in it.

This British director is exceptionally talented and possesses extraordinary skills.

In the rest area, Martin had just touched up his makeup.

Bruce came over carrying a rubber prop baseball bat and handed it to Martin.

A few days ago, the crew filmed a scene where Batman beats up the Joker.

Today we're filming the scene where the Joker beats up Batman.

Just diagonally opposite Martin, Bale, wearing the Batsuit and carrying a hood, was walking towards them.

He looked up and met Martin's gaze.

Martin was kind to everyone, and a blood-red smile cracked across his pale face.

A baseball is tossed from Martin's hand, falls back into his hand, and is tossed up again.

The baseball bat he was holding in his other hand was propped up on the ground.

Bale remembered the action scene and immediately changed course to go find director Nolan.

This is a scene where Batman gets completely thrashed by the Joker!

Bale recently used action sequences to create some unexpected situations, allowing Martin to truly experience Batman's punches.

He felt that Martin couldn't possibly give up today's opportunity.

Seeing that state, I just wanted to get it back.

Although Bale was furious and on edge, his mind wasn't completely clouded. He said to Nolan, "Director, I'm not feeling well right now. Should we have a stunt double for the next action scene?"

Nolan frowned slightly, somewhat dissatisfied.

It's not that replacing the stunt actors is incompatible. After all, the stunt doubles for Batman in the crew have almost the same physique as Bale when they put on the Batsuit. As long as you don't shoot a close-up of their chins, you can't tell the difference at all.

Nolan was unhappy because he had been thinking about how to write new behind-the-scenes footage this morning, and he finally had an idea, but Bale didn't plan to play.

He asked, seemingly with concern, "Is everything alright?"

Bell managed a weak smile: "I'll be fine after a short rest."

Nolan nodded, called over the stunt team, and had a stunt double prepare to go on stage and replace Bale for the last few action scenes.

Anyway, the pen is with him, so we can think about other things.

Bell instantly relaxed, went to the rest area, sat in his chair, glanced at Martin, and closed his eyes to rest.

My nerves, which had been on edge lately due to all sorts of bad things, were surprisingly relaxed at this moment.

Bell felt he had seen through and cracked Martin's scheme.

On the other side, Martin was still tossing the baseball around.

Bruce came over again and whispered, "The stunt doubles, Philip and Rice, are getting ready. Bale won't be doing the last few action scenes for Batman."

Martin said in a low voice, "Just as I expected, those who want to create surprises in action scenes will not give others the opportunity to do so."

Bruce wasn't surprised: "I guess when he was filming the scene where Batman beats up the Joker last time, he was specifically thinking about the scene we're filming today."

"Only someone like him, whose head is full of bad ideas, would have such a low-level thought." Martin gave what he thought was a kind smile. "How could a good actor like me do something so awful as to deliberately create accidents?"

Bruce glanced at his smile and cautioned, "You're going to scare the young actresses on set."

Martin had no choice but to suppress his smile: "An accident can only be created once. Once it's over, that's it. We can't beat someone up for several minutes and then classify it as an accident, can we?"

Bruce, drawing on Bell's situation, said, "Some physical injuries can have a long-term psychological impact."

Martin agreed: "That's right, so as long as you start from that point, he can't escape. I feel like there's a beast inside him that could burst out at any moment."

He tapped his head: "Nicholson told me that when physical and mental damage occur simultaneously, it can be something a person can never escape for the rest of their life. He's my boss, and I plan to listen to him."

Bruce felt no remorse, because his years of experience fighting in the military and in Atlanta had taught him that one should never be soft-hearted when dealing with enemies.

That would be incredibly irresponsible towards one's own future.

Martin glanced around and said in a low voice, "Let's do it the way we agreed."

Bruce left the rest area and walked out of the set. The first person he approached was Scott, who had suddenly come to visit the set.

"Ready?" Bruce asked.

Scott nodded: "Sofia invited Bell several times, but he refused each time, which made Sophia very unhappy."

Bruce said, "Just do as I say, tell the truth, understand?"

"No problem," Scott said, wiping his nose. "When I was out there on the streets, you were nobody!"

The two exchanged a few words in hushed tones, and Scott, with his legs spread wide, found a place to sit down, slowly looking for an opportunity.

Martin picked up a prop baseball bat and went onto the set, where he chatted with the stunt double who was playing the beaten-up Batman.

He never intended to use action scenes to create unexpected events.

That would be too low-class.

As a Hollywood actor with outstanding professionalism and an excellent reputation, Martin would certainly not allow such a thing to damage his reputation.

Compared to scoundrels like Brooks, Nicholson, and Leonardo, he still has a lot of self-respect.

The crew was ready, the lights went out, and with Nolan's command, filming began.

Martin immediately transformed into a mad dog, and with the help of two hounds, successfully ambushed Batman, swinging his prop baseball bat and indiscriminately smashing it at him.

Its main appeal is its madness, insanity, and violence.

The baseball bat swung with a whooshing sound, but it didn't have much weight when it fell. Martin has a lot of experience in action scenes, so he handled it perfectly.

Batman was also brutally beaten by the Joker and rolled around on the ground.

"Stop, that's a good take!" Nolan was very satisfied with Martin's performance and shouted, "Keep it up!"

The makeup artist came in to touch up the makeup, and the dog trainer took the two dogs away.

Martin listened to the action director explain the precautions for the next take and prepared to film the next scene.

In the rest area, Bear Grylls, having removed his Batsuit, saw the stuntman stand up unharmed and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead.

He was sweating profusely when he saw Martin beat up Batman.

When filming came to a temporary halt and the crew took a break, Bale once again heard the ubiquitous whispers from the crew.

"Why wasn't that troublemaker filmed?"

"You're a coward, scared, aren't you?"

"If you have the guts to stir up trouble, why be afraid of action scenes like this?"

Bell was furious; these extras in Atlanta were too talkative.

He turned his head and looked in the direction of the sound; the extras immediately shut their mouths.

But when they turned back, the discussions started again.

Annoyed to no end, Bell got up and left the studio to get some fresh air.

As Bale strolled around the studio, just as he emerged from behind a trailer, he noticed two women talking in the extras' dressing area on one side of the soundstage.

One of them, with a grating, hoarse voice, said, "Have your extras spread the word about Bell's affair as quickly as possible."

Upon hearing his name called, Bell hid behind the trailer.

The other person said, "No problem, this is Atlanta, this is our territory!"

The grating, hoarse voice continued, "That troublemaker Bell actually tried to mess with our people from Atlanta. The higher-ups contacted someone, and they said they wouldn't stop until Bell was completely ruined."

"Isn't he smelly to begin with?" the other man said.

The man with the hoarse voice let out an unpleasant laugh and continued, "The latest rumor, fabricated from Blanchett's perspective and in her voice, goes like this: Bell invited Blanchett to a party, and when she arrived, she found Heath Ledger in the room, clothes strewn everywhere, and a strong smell of feces. Blanchett thought they hadn't cleaned properly..."

The other person chuckled, "This is a rumor with a pungent smell!"

Bell stood behind the trailer, his tense face pale, his already bloodshot eyes glowing red.

Atlanta! People who left Atlanta...

Having come from Atlanta, there's only one person he wants to get: Martin Davis!

Bell immediately understood why the extras were gossiping and spreading rumors about him on set.

He has powerful backers! That person who came from Atlanta can only be Martin Davis.

Bell stormed toward the studio, his mind filled with only one thought: Martin Davis was the real troublemaker!

From a high vantage point in the nearby office building, High Priest Robert could see everything clearly. He picked up his phone, dialed a number, and hung up quickly after the phone rang.

Scott got off an electric scooter and swaggered toward Bell. When he was still a dozen meters away, he called out, "Christian Bell, wait for me, I need to talk to you."

Bell stopped, turned around, and saw the strange man following the female warrior.

Thinking that the female warrior might have something on Martin, he forced a smile at Scott: "What is it?"

Scott pointed to a secluded spot: "It's about Sophia."

Bell followed.

Scott said, "I advise you to be careful and stay away from Sophia. Martin contacted Sophia and asked her to come after you."

Having just overheard what the two extras said, Bell was particularly sensitive to this: "Trying to mess with me? How are you going to mess with me?"

Scott pulled a pink water bottle, easily over thirty centimeters long, from his bag and pointed behind Bell: "Use this!"
