Chapter 178 The Destroyer Arrives

Chapter 178 The Destroyer Arrives (Third Update)

It's six o'clock in the morning.

Jerry slowly opened his eyes after finishing his meditation.

Nothing unusual happened at the base last night; Loki obviously did not appear.

After taking out the key, Jerry's figure disappeared from the spot and reappeared in a room in New York.

In the morning, he also had to make breakfast for his family and show up at school, so as not to leave too many clues.

If someone were to investigate him, they would find that although he hasn't been at school these past few days, he is still in New York.

Around nine o'clock, he returned to the base in New Mexico again using the door key.

"Miss Wizard, we're going to Oldbridge Town for hamburgers, are you coming?"

Not long after leaving the room, Jerry encountered Thor and Jane.

Perhaps because of a deep conversation he had with Jane last night, Thor's overall spirits were noticeably better, and he seemed to have accepted his fate with equanimity.

"Of course, staying here all the time is pretty boring!"

Jerry smiled and agreed.

If you want to find Loki, staying by Thor's side is obviously the best option.

So the five of them borrowed a S.H.I.E.L.D. car from Coulson and drove off toward Old Bridge.

Professor Eric was in charge of driving, the burly Thor sat in the passenger seat, and Jerry squeezed between Jane and Daisy in the back.

He actually wanted to sit in the passenger seat, but he couldn't because he was the smallest of the five.

Watching the car carrying the five people slowly drive away from the base gate, Hawkeye Barton, standing behind Coulson, asked in confusion:

"Isn't this a bit too unsafe!"

Coulson shook his head helplessly:

"This is what Director Fury instructed us before he left: not to restrict Saul's freedom, but to protect him. So you'll take a team of elite soldiers and follow behind them, protecting his safety from a distance!"

Thor is not a prisoner of S.H.I.E.L.D., so his freedom cannot be restricted too much.

To be precise, Thor is a prince, or rather, a future king, of a civilization more advanced than Earth, even though he's currently facing some problems.

Moreover, Jerry, currently the strongest person in the entire base, is right next to Thor.

Two hours later,

Coulson, who was guarding the base, suddenly received an urgent notification from the research department.

"Sir, a huge energy fluctuation has appeared 15 kilometers northwest of the base, the same energy fluctuation as that hammer!"

Upon receiving the report, Coulson immediately drove off with two combat teams and a research team to investigate.

However, when they arrived, they only saw a circular pattern on the ground composed of countless strange symbols and characters.

"Hmm, this looks a bit like some of the text in the magic book the wizard gave me!"

Upon closer inspection, Coulson discovered that the strange writing on the ground was somewhat familiar.

"Call the wizard and see if she's free to come over right now!"

Coulson gave the order to the agent beside him.

The agent next to him nodded, then just as he pulled out his phone, he realized that S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't seem to have the wizard's contact information:

"Sir, do you have Miss Wizard's phone number?"

"Um, first use the walkie-talkie to contact Agent Patton and have him inform them!"

Coulson paused for a moment, then immediately offered a solution.

However, before the agent could even take out his walkie-talkie, dark clouds suddenly filled the sky, and a strong wind arose, as if a new storm was about to break out.

Coulson realized something was wrong and quickly ordered all the agents and researchers to get in the car and get away from there.

"boom!"

Just as everyone got into the car and before they could even start the engine, a rainbow descended from the sky, followed by a humanoid armor made entirely of an unknown metal appearing above the circular pattern.

The humanoid armor appeared to be at least seven meters away, its entire body a dark gold color, exuding an overwhelming sense of oppression.

Upon landing, the humanoid armor's head immediately split open, unleashing a powerful burst of destructive energy that instantly blasted the three nearest S.H.I.E.L.D. armored vehicles into fragments.

"The bureau chief was right!"

When Coulson saw the humanoid armor appear and attack them, he immediately realized that this was likely an assassin sent by Loki to eliminate any future threats.

He immediately pulled out his walkie-talkie and shouted for all the agents to drive back to Old Bridge, and also told Hawkeye Barton to contact the wizard and Thor immediately.

A few minutes before the humanoid armor appeared, in Jane's home in Old Bridge Town.

After having hamburgers for breakfast, Jerry and Saul went to Jane's house for a visit at her invitation.

Although the S.H.I.E.L.D. base is nice, the atmosphere is never as relaxed as at home.

The group drank coffee that Jerry had conjured with magic while listening to Thor recount the history of Asgard and some of his own stories.

Although, in his current view, many of the things he did in the past were too impulsive and childish.

Asgard has a long history, far surpassing any civilization on Earth today. Thor lived for 1500 years, so his stories are truly numerous and endless.

These stories were not only fascinating to Jane and the other two astronomers, but Jerry also listened very attentively.

Because Thor, in telling his story, also subtly taught Jerry many things he didn't know before, which actually helped him with some of his later plans.

"In Asgard, besides my mischievous brother Loki, I have four very good friends. Each of them is one of the most outstanding warriors in Asgard. You may have even read about them in the books."

They are…

Thor was interrupted by a knocking sound on the glass before he could finish speaking. He turned to look at the door and saw three men and one woman dressed in ancient Norse armor waving at him.

"Oh my god, the Warriors Three and Sif?"

Upon seeing the four people at the door, Thor was taken aback at first, then excitedly put down his cup and rushed out.

After a series of excited hugs and pleasantries, Thor warmly introduced his four best friends to Jerry, Jane, and the others: Volstagg, whose strength far surpassed that of ordinary Asgardian warriors; Fandral, the master swordsman; Hogan, the master weapon wielder; and Sif, the only female warrior.

"I knew it! How could someone as powerful as Odin possibly die from too much pressure!"

Next, Jerry learned the truth from the conversation between the Warriors Three and Thor.

It turns out that Odin was merely asleep, Thor was never permanently banished, and Jotunheim never waged war against Asgard. It was all a lie told by Loki to ascend the throne.

Their purpose in coming here is to bring Thor back to Asgard, because in the hearts of all Asgardians, the invincible Thor is Odin's true successor and the king of Asgard.

Loki will never be accepted as long as Thor returns to Asgard.
