Chapter 41 The Weasleys' Invitation
Chapter 41 The Weasleys' Invitation
The basilisk, a mysterious and powerful creature, possesses incredible value in every part.
That incredibly tough snakeskin is a magical armor bestowed by nature, tough enough to withstand the invasion of magic, making it the best choice for making high-level protective equipment.
Snake blood is an extremely rare and precious material, and its unique composition can unleash incredible magical effects.
Although the flesh of the basilisk is often overlooked in legends, it is actually a rare delicacy. Its flesh is tender, rich in nutrients, and can bring unexpected benefits to the eater.
However, what people covet most about the basilisk is undoubtedly its pair of snake eyes that gleam with a mysterious light and its pair of incredibly sharp fangs.
The basilisk's corpse was practically a gold mine.
Wes carefully removed the snake's eye, behaving with extreme caution as if he were handling the most precious treasure in the world.
He carefully placed them into a specially made magical container that could preserve the snake eyes' activity so that they could be transformed into a powerful magical item in the future.
As for the fangs, after careful consideration, Wes decided to forge them into a pair of daggers.
Although the style of the wizard using a dagger seems a bit peculiar.
But in all the myriad realms, there are wizards wielding greatswords and fighting orcs; anything is possible.
In dealing with the basilisk, Wes faces enormous challenges. The basilisk is enormous, and gathering materials from its body is a daunting task.
Wes' forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat. After several hours of hard work, he finally finished collecting the most valuable parts of the basilisk.
After all that commotion, he was covered in a foul odor.
After finishing all the collection, he returned to his dormitory and immediately went into the bathroom. He took a hot shower, letting the warm water wash away the day's fatigue and body odor.
He changed into clean clothes, and when he returned to his office, he found Dumbledore and Lucius waiting quietly for him at the door.
"Are all the people from the Ministry of Magic gone?" Wes asked softly.
Dumbledore nodded slightly.
Wes opened the door and invited the two inside.
"Hagrid's suspicions can be cleared." Dumbledore sat casually on the stool as if he were back in his own home, his beard twitching with delight.
"The foolish politician finally did the right thing."
While happy for Hagrid, Weiss didn't forget to mock Fudge.
"The basilisk has been dealt with; the next step is to decide what to do with the Horcruxes." Wes and Dumbledore exchanged glances, and Wes looked at Dumbledore and posed a new question.
Dumbledore then took out his diary and gently placed it on the table.
"Ordinary weapons and magic cannot damage Horcruxes."
Privately, Dumbledore tried it several times, and each attempt made him realize more deeply how powerful and troublesome Horcruxes were.
"I have some unusual weapons here."
Without the slightest hesitation, Wes decisively removed the basilisk's fangs and forcefully stabbed them into the diary.
The sharp fangs pierced the diary in an instant, making a crisp sound.
Then the diary began to burn, emitting black flames that seemed to come from hell and exuded an evil aura.
Tom's image flickered in and out of the flames, his eyes filled with murderous intent and hatred, as if he wanted to devour the entire room.
However, both Wes and Dumbledore appeared unusually calm.
Lucius's reaction was quite different; his body trembled involuntarily. Although he had decided to betray Voldemort, the fear deep within him remained ingrained.
With his level of composure, if he went to infiltrate Voldemort's ranks, he'd probably be seen through immediately.
Lucius's performance made Wes worry about whether he was up to the task.
Wess's questioning look was so obvious that Lucius noticed it.
"I'm just a little..." Lucius tried to explain his state, his voice tinged with panic.
Wes didn't say much; he simply took a ring out of his pocket and tossed it to Lucius.
The ring was ornately designed, featuring a sapphire that radiated a deep brilliance; even a discerning person like Lucius could not find any flaws in it.
"What is this??" Lucius asked in confusion.
Wes explained, "This is a ring that helps you hide your thoughts; it functions similarly to Occlumency. In your current state, if you were to go to Voldemort's side, you probably wouldn't last a day."
Lucius immediately put the ring on, saying, "I'm just not used to it yet, once I..."
Wes didn't call him out on it; he knew Lucius needed time to adjust to his new identity and overcome his fear of Voldemort.
"Voldemort certainly made more than one Horcrux. We must destroy it as much as possible before Voldemort returns," Wes continued.
"That's right, Tom is an extremely proud and conceited person, and he strives for perfection in everything. This diary was made during his student days, so it's obviously not 'perfect'."
As the person who knew Voldemort best, Dumbledore shared the same view as Wes: "He must have made other Horcruxes, and the vessels for those Horcruxes must be things befitting his status."
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
With Wes's reminder, Dumbledore had some ideas.
However, there's no need to rush anything. After bringing Wes to his side, Dumbledore's pressure lessened, and he became more at ease.
"Tom, you won't get a second chance this time."

Two weeks later, the Daily Prophet's report caused a sensation throughout the magical world.
Shocking! Hogwarts has been hiding a monster for a thousand years!
The wise minister took the lead and, without fear of danger, eliminated the basilisk!
"..."
The newspapers were filled with praise for Cornelius Fudge, portraying him as a hero, while the contributions of Dumbledore and Weas were ignored.
Moreover, most of the reports about Dumbledore are critical, accusing him of being blind and unaware that such a dangerous monster existed in the school, which is irresponsible for the safety of the students.
The report made no mention of Wes, the one who actually dealt with the basilisk.
Most people were misled by the reports, and some parents even sent shouting letters to Dumbledore to express their anger.
Some parents are planning to take their children away, fearing that their children will be studying in such a dangerous school.
However, Dumbledore resolved all these issues one by one, and Wes was amazed by the methods Dumbledore used.
No wonder Fudge was so wary of Dumbledore. Even though he had already taken the position of Minister of Magic, Fudge was always worried that Dumbledore could kick him off at any time.
A person who is more capable, prestigious, and resourceful than you, regardless of whether they have any ideas, the important thing is that they have the ability.
Hogwarts was even more lively, with all the students talking about the Basilisk and the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin, which became a popular topic of conversation among them.
Their enthusiasm even surpassed their interest in Quidditch, and the once bustling Quidditch arena became much quieter.
Some daring students (the Gryffindor lion cubs) even formed a team to search for the Chamber of Secrets, but Dumbledore did not stop these children; in fact, he encouraged them to search for it.
Now, all the little wizards got involved, as they were always full of curiosity and a desire to explore.
Surprisingly, the most concerned students were the Slytherin students. If another house found the Chamber of Secrets first, they would be so angry they would want to kill themselves.
However, Dumbledore secretly moved the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets to the Headmaster's office.
The students were all fooled by Dumbledore, that old fox. They searched all over the campus but could not find the entrance to the secret room.
The students' enthusiasm lasted until Christmas.
This Christmas was a little special for Wes, as he received an invitation from the Weasleys.
