Chapter 43 Christmas Day
Chapter 43 Christmas Day
The next morning, sunlight gently caressed every corner of the humble dwelling like tender fingers, and golden rays streamed through the windows, illuminating the slightly mottled floor.
Hearing this warm invitation, Wes stretched and slowly strolled down from his room upstairs to the first floor.
Meanwhile, Molly was already busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen, her figure moving tirelessly back and forth.
The eggs in the frying pan were sizzling enticingly, the bread in the toaster was gradually turning golden brown, and the whole kitchen was filled with the aroma of breakfast.
Arthur, dressed in pajamas, sat leisurely at the dining table, a steaming cup of coffee on the table, as he intently read the Daily Prophet.
"Good morning," Wes greeted with a smile.
His clear and bright voice broke the morning's tranquility.
Arthur looked up, a hint of a smile in his eyes, and asked with concern, "How did you sleep last night?"
"Very good." A satisfied smile appeared on Wes's face, clearly showing that a good night's sleep had made him feel refreshed.
Hearing their conversation, Molly brought a cup of coffee from the kitchen and handed it to Wes, saying, "Wait a moment, breakfast will be ready soon."
After saying that, she went back to the kitchen and continued working.
As a mother of seven, Molly is always busy during holidays.
She not only had to ensure that each child enjoyed a hearty breakfast, but also that their daily needs were met, while also arranging various holiday activities to make the holidays in this large family full of joy and warmth.
However, with Jandy's help, Molly felt much more at ease.
Jandy always quietly helped out, cleaning the room and preparing food, so that Molly could catch her breath a little.
After breakfast was ready, Molly began to wake each child from bed.
But this time it wasn't so gentle.
"Ron! When are you going to wake up?!"
"And you, Fred and George, get up right now!"
Molly's voice echoed in the stairwell of the Burrow, breaking the morning's tranquility.
"Okay, Mom." The twins' voices came from another room, tinged with sleepiness.
Christmas at the Burrow began amidst such noise and busyness.
After breakfast, Arthur led his twin brother and Ron to the shed to begin their festive activities.
Percy, the boy who always liked to study and explore on his own, went into his room after dinner, acting mysteriously and seemingly busy with something.
"Kids, we need to hurry and get the Christmas tree decorated before lunch." Arthur stood in front of an evergreen tree with his tools, ready to trim it.
Although the twin brothers weren't particularly interested in decorating the Christmas tree, they still stood to the side, occasionally exchanging a mischievous glance, seemingly planning some kind of prank.
Ron obediently assisted his father, carefully pruning branches and tidying up decorations according to Arthur's instructions, using small scissors and tape.
"Is there anything I can do?" Wes asked, having nothing to do in his room. He came over to see if there was anything he could do to help.
Although the shed was simple, it was not small and was filled with all kinds of materials and tools.
Arthur said with great pride, "Don't underestimate this place; I made many things here myself."
"Yes, Ron's bed," Fred said.
"The dining table," George added immediately, and their seamless cooperation eased the atmosphere in the shed considerably.
Arthur's salary wasn't high, and with so many children to support, he wasn't exactly rolling in money.
He repaired many things in the house and continued to use them after they broke.
Over time, Arthur's skills improved, and the shed became increasingly filled with more and more items.
"No wonder you were able to build your own flying car, Arthur."
Wes was deeply impressed by Arthur's creativity and hands-on skills.
"Of course, you know back then..." Arthur's face lit up as he mentioned Flying Cars.
He talked on and on about the process of modifying the flying car, completely forgetting about the Christmas tree.
It was only after Ron reminded him that Arthur snapped out of his daze and continued trimming the Christmas tree.
However, once they started talking, they couldn't stop. Arthur and Wess became increasingly enthusiastic about the flying car, and even the twins were drawn in by their conversation and joined in.
Ron couldn't get a word in edgewise and sulked, feeling neglected.
It wasn't until Molly came to urge them that they realized it was already lunchtime.
In the afternoon, everyone began decorating the humble abode. The power of magic made the decorating work easy and fun for the whole family.
Children and adults sat together, gently waving their wands. The glittering decorations seemed to come alive, automatically flying to where they were meant to be, hanging on the walls, windows, or roof, adding to the festive atmosphere of the home.
In no time at all, the entire humble abode was decorated with a Christmas atmosphere.
Weiss took out a long string of colored lights and wrapped it around the outside of the Burrow.
As night falls, these colorful lights begin to twinkle, transforming the humble dwelling into a magical cottage from a fairy tale. The vibrant lights dance in the darkness, adding a touch of warmth and romance to the night.
"I wish there were fireworks." Ginny looked at the beautifully decorated hut, her eyes sparkling with longing for fireworks.
The beauty and splendor of magic fireworks are every child's dream, but because they are expensive, they rarely have the opportunity to see them in person.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
The other children were also a little disappointed; they had imagined that the night would have been even more perfect if there had been fireworks.
Just then, Jandy came wobbling over, carrying a box even taller than herself, filled with fireworks.
"How can we do without fireworks at a time like this?" Wes said with a smile.
He lit a firework, which shot into the sky and exploded instantly, revealing a lifelike reindeer pattern running through the air.
The children's eyes were filled with surprise and joy. They cheered and jumped, as if they themselves were flying into the sky with the fireworks.
"These are all yours," Wes said generously, pointing to the remaining fireworks in the box.
"Really?" The children, though eager to know, still politely asked for their parents' opinion.
The Weasleys, of course, wouldn't spoil the children's fun, and they said with a smile, "What are you waiting for?"
"Great!" the children cheered, eagerly choosing their favorite fireworks.
Wes bought a lot of fireworks, enough for them to play with.
Patterns appeared in the sky, including flowers, stars, animals, and more.
The fireworks burst brilliantly in the night sky, and the children's laughter echoed in the air. This hour-long fireworks extravaganza became an unforgettable memory for the Weasley family.
The children had a great time, and even the Weasleys rediscovered their childlike wonder, playing and frolicking with the children as if they had returned to their own childhood.
The next morning, the Weasleys received a gift that Weasley had carefully prepared.
Ron received a jar of candy from Honeydukes Candy Shop. He eagerly opened the jar, took out a candy, put it in his mouth, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
Ginny received a set of magical toys, similar to Barbie dolls. She happily hugged the toys, unable to put them down.
Percy received a beautiful quill pen, and he stroked the pen with great care.
The twin brothers received Wes's alchemy notebook, which they treasured. They eagerly opened the notebook and began to read it carefully.
Molly received brand new kitchen utensils, and she looked at Wes with gratitude, her heart filled with warmth.
Arthur's, on the other hand, was a Muggle toolbox containing tools such as wrenches.
He happily held the toolbox, imagining himself making even more things with these tools.
Everyone loved Wes's gift.
Wes's gift was a scarf that Molly had knitted by hand, which he wore around his neck and found very comfortable.
The scarf was soft and warm, as if carrying the love and blessings of Molly's family.
After lunch, Wes said goodbye to the lovely family. Despite their warm invitation for him to stay, Wes decided to leave.
He knew he had already bothered them for several days and didn't want to disturb the family reunion any longer.
After this rare moment of warmth, Wes once again immersed himself in the world of magic.
He knew he had many things to deal with and couldn't indulge in this fleeting joy forever.
