Chapter 63 Reunion
Chapter 63 Reunion
"Who exactly are you? What is your purpose?"
"My name is Wes, and I'm a professor at Hogwarts. I can help you."
Having experienced betrayal by his former friend and torment by Azkaban, Sirius Black is not easily trusting a stranger, even though this stranger has just given him a hearty meal.
He looked at Wess, not responding immediately; silence seemed to be the best answer at the moment. He tried to glean more information from Wess's words, but the current information was insufficient for him to make a judgment easily. He stared at Wess again with a wary gaze.
Oh, relax. You have nothing now, what could I possibly want from you?
Seeing Sirius's heightened vigilance, Wes tried to allay his concerns with a lighthearted and humorous tone.
"But I'm not helping you for no reason. How about we make a deal?"
"What do you want?" Sirius didn't know what else he had that a professor would care about.
"Documents and materials related to the Black family."
Weiss stated his purpose directly: he wanted to acquire the knowledge accumulated by the Black family over hundreds of years.
"I've already been kicked out of the Black family," Sirius said calmly.
"You are the only male heir of the Black family, and you are the rightful heir of the Black family."
"Really?" Sirius had no affection for the Black family and wasn't interested in what Wes was saying. "How about I give you everything if you can help me catch Pettigrew?"
"Alright, let's sign this contract then." Wes said, taking out the parchment and quill he had prepared beforehand from his pocket and handing them to Sirius.
"It seems you came prepared," Sirius took the parchment, carefully examined the contract, found no hidden clauses or traps, and then readily signed his name.
After signing the contract, Wes said to Sirius, "Let's go, I'll take you to see Dumbledore."
"Dumbledore!" Sirius jumped up when he heard the name.
Wes asked, feigning skepticism, "You don't trust Dumbledore?"
Sirius quickly waved his hand and said urgently, "How could I not believe it? Dumbledore is one of the people I respect most."
"Then what are you hesitating about?" Wes pressed further.
Sirius gave a bitter smile: "Look at me now, and I'm a wanted criminal..." As he spoke, his voice grew softer and softer, his shoulders slumped slightly, and he looked somewhat dejected.
"I don't think Dumbledore would care about any of that. Besides, don't you want to see Lupin and Harry as soon as possible?" Wes's words were like a fuse, instantly igniting the deep longing in Sirius's heart.
Upon hearing his best friend and Harry's names, Sirius could no longer contain his excitement and exclaimed, "Let's go, let's set off now!" With that, he eagerly headed towards Hogwarts.
"Wait!" Wes called out to him hastily. "Hogwarts is guarded by Dementors; you can't get in like this."
Sirius Black froze on the spot upon hearing this, as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head, instantly extinguishing his newly ignited enthusiasm.
"Besides, this outfit doesn't suit you either."
Sirius looked down at his homeless appearance: tattered clothes, greasy hair, and a tangled beard. At that moment, he seemed to realize his disheveled state, and lowered his head in embarrassment, his fingers unconsciously twisting the hem of his clothes, appearing somewhat lost.
The two followed the winding path to a crystal-clear stream. Wes took a set of clean clothes and toiletries from his bag and handed them to Sirius.
"I'm an adventurer, so I always carry these necessities with me," Wes explained.
Sirius jumped into the river without hesitation, and the cool water instantly invigorated him. He vigorously washed his body, washing away the grime and fatigue.
After he changed into clean clothes, he seemed to regain his handsome appearance from his youth. His upright posture and deep eyes seemed to take him back to his glorious past. At that moment, he seemed to have regained the dignity and confidence he had lost for a long time.
"That's much better, don't resist." Before Sirius could fully react, Wes suddenly cast a Transfiguration Charm, turning Sirius into a black kitten.
"Meow~ Meow~" The black kitten seemed to be complaining about something, its small body twisting and turning in protest against the sudden change.
"Shh, your Animagus form is too conspicuous," Wes said in a reassuring tone. "We need to avoid unnecessary trouble as much as possible."
Sirius stopped struggling, and just as he was about to say something, he suddenly felt a tightness on the back of his neck.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
He looked up and saw Crookshank's huge face right in front of him. It turned out that Crookshank had grabbed him in his mouth and turned him into a helpless little black cat.
"Cats are much smarter than dogs," Wes said, and strode forward, while Crookshan trotted behind him, carrying the struggling little black cat in his mouth.
"Meow~ Meow~" The little black cat kept meowing, its voice full of dissatisfaction and protest, but neither Wess nor Crookshan paid any attention to it.
Sure enough, the Dementors didn't notice Sirius Black, who had turned into a kitten; they completely ignored him.
Wes made his way to the headmaster's office with practiced ease. Dumbledore was sitting at his desk, handling some business. When he saw Wes enter, he looked up, his gaze falling on the little black cat in Crookshanks' mouth. He was a little curious about when Wes had acquired such a cat.
As for Crookshanks, it was already quite famous at school; everyone knew it was Hermione's pet. Therefore, it roamed freely around the campus without arousing anyone's suspicion or attention.
Dumbledore put down his work and asked gently, "Wes, what's going on? You brought a kitten to see me?" His gaze turned to Crookshanks, who gently placed the little black cat on the ground. Sirius let out a disgruntled cry, but still stood there obediently, waiting for the next step.
"Principal, could you please invite Professor Lu Ping over? I'll explain things together."
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore glanced at the black kitten and sensed something unusual about it.
Shortly afterward, Professor Lu Ping arrived at the principal's office, completely unaware of why he had been summoned.
Once everyone was present, Wess dispelled the shapeshifting spell on Sirius.
Sirius Black transformed back into human form. Although more than a decade had passed and Sirius's appearance had changed somewhat, Lupin recognized his old friend at a glance.
