Chapter 64 The Truth Revealed

"Sirius! You traitor!" The usually gentle Lupin's eyes turned bloodshot, like a maddened beast. He drew his wand to cast the Unforgivable Curse.

With lightning speed, Wes used a disarming spell to knock Lupin's wand away.

Just as the enraged Lupin was about to transform into a werewolf, Dumbledore intervened and stopped him.

"Calm down, Lupin. I think Wes will give us a reasonable explanation."

Dumbledore's words still had an effect; Lupin gradually calmed down. Nevertheless, he kept a close eye on Sirius, fearing that he might run away.

Wes recounted the whole story in detail and opened the Marauder's Map, where Peter Pettigrew's name was prominently displayed.

As one of the map's creators, Lupin knew what this meant.

"Why is Peter Pettigrew still alive? Why is he at Hogwarts?"

Sirius Black stepped forward and looked at the incredulous Lupin, saying, "I can explain all of this."

He recounted to those present the decision to replace the Secret Service with Little Pettigrew.

At the time, he thought it was a smart move, but he never expected that Little Star would betray them and leak the information to Voldemort.

"How could this be?" Lupin couldn't believe that his former friend had suffered such a great misunderstanding and pain.

"I'm not lying. You can use truth serum or check my memory. I didn't betray James. I'm not a traitor," Sirius said almost pleadingly. He was willing to be tested, desperately wanting everyone's trust.

Lupin gripped Sirius's shoulders tightly. "Why didn't you defend yourself back then? Why didn't you tell the truth?"

"At that time, James and Lily were dead, Voldemort was missing, and Pettigrew was 'dead' too. Only I, this self-righteous man, was still alive." Sirius Black lowered his head, filled with self-reproach and guilt. He continued, "I went into Azkaban voluntarily; I was atoning for my sins."

Sirius's words silenced everyone present.

"Black..." Lupin's voice trembled slightly. He believed in Sirius, and had always suspected Sirius's betrayal.

Lupin hugged Sirius tightly. Sirius looked up and asked Lupin, "You believe me?"

"certainly."

Just as a smile was about to bloom on Sirius's face, Lupin's right fist struck him hard in the cheek, and Sirius fell heavily to the ground.

He struggled to his feet, his face covered in blood from his nose, and looked at Lupin in pain.

"You are the most selfish and stupid person in the world!" Lupin roared at Sirius with tears streaming down his face.

Sirius laughed, a bright laugh, even though his face was covered in blood from his nose, making him look somewhat creepy.

His laughter carried a sense of relief, as if at this moment he had finally found some kind of liberation.

After stopping the nosebleed, the four sat around the desk. Four pairs of eyes, like four sharp beams of light, were fixed intently on Peter Pettigrew's name on the Marauder's Map. That name deeply captivated their attention, for it held the key to all the answers.

"Grab this traitor and force him to reveal the truth of what happened back then." Lupin's eyes burned with rage; he couldn't wait to capture Peter Pettigrew and make him pay for his crimes.

Sirius Black clenched his fists tightly, suppressing the anger within him. Though outwardly calm, the injustices and pain he had suffered over the years had transformed into hatred for Peter Pettigrew.

Wes completely agreed with Lupin's opinion. In his view, with him and Dumbledore taking action, there was no need to worry about Peter Pettigrew escaping.

To avoid any unforeseen complications, Weiss suggested taking immediate action.

The proposal was unanimously agreed upon, and with Marauder's Map, everything became very simple.

Bambi, or rather Peter Pettigrew, has been living in constant fear and paranoia lately.

The news of Sirius's escape terrified him, and he was constantly gripped by fear. His intuition told him that Sirius was after him.

[Damn it, where did I slip up and let that damn dog find out I'm still alive?] A mouse was hiding in the corner of the school wall, peeking out cautiously, its head constantly turning as it warily observed its surroundings.

And that stupid cat...

"Meow~" The meow was like a thunderclap, startling Peter Pettigrew so much that he trembled and ran away.

Crookshanks deliberately drove Peter Pettigrew in one direction. While fleeing for his life, Peter Pettigrew did not notice that there were fewer and fewer people around him. He had no time to think and only wanted to get rid of the cat as soon as possible.

Peter Pettigrew didn't realize he was in trouble until he was driven into an empty corridor.

Just then, "Woof!" A large dog suddenly appeared in front of him.

Little Sirius looked at the big dog in front of him and screamed in fright, "Sirius!!!"

The next instant, his mind went blank, and then he passed out. It turned out that Wes's stun spell had hit him precisely, at just the right moment.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Sirius roared softly, about to pounce on Peter Pettigrew and tear him to pieces to vent his hatred.

Wes stopped him in time: "If he dies, your guilt will never be cleared. Don't you want to live with Harry?"

These words were a wake-up call for Sirius, instantly calming him down.

Wes put Peter Pettigrew into the cage that had been prepared beforehand, and the man, the cat, and the dog returned to the principal's office.

Anxious and distraught, Lu Ping took the cage and carefully examined the mouse inside. After a moment, he kept muttering, "It's him, it's him!!"

The four raiders were very familiar with each other's Animagus forms, and the fact that this rat also had a finger missing from its right paw further confirmed its identity.

Sirius Black also returned to human form. He grabbed Peter Pettigrew from the cage and roughly threw him to the ground.

Peter Pettigrew crashed to the ground with a thud. He remained unconscious due to Wes's stun spell.

Lupin shoved Sirius aside, pulled out his wand, and shouted, "Crunch in the Heart!!" He struck the rat on the ground. It's true that an honest person can be terrifying when they get angry.

Dumbledore acted as if he hadn't seen anything, and continued wiping his glasses.

Peter Pettigrew began to convulse uncontrollably, his body contorted in immense pain. Lupin, however, had no intention of letting him off easily. He picked up his wand again, preparing for a second round of attacks.

"Enough, Lupin!" Dumbledore finally spoke up to stop him. "We need him to come to his senses so we can figure everything out."

Peter Pettigrew was already screaming in pain; the Cruciatus Curse was too powerful for him to maintain his Animagus form.

A rat the size of a palm began to swell, quickly transforming into a short, chubby, greasy middle-aged man with thinning hair, whose squeaking turned into human wails.
