Chapter 66 Hibernation

After Dumbledore finished speaking, he waved his wand, and a flash of light appeared in the air. An iron chain appeared out of thin air and bound Peter Pettigrew tightly. Mysterious runes shimmered on the chain.

Then, Dumbledore pointed to an old cabinet in the corner of the room. The cabinet opened slowly under the influence of magic, and Peter Pettigrew, who was tied up tightly, was stuffed into the cabinet.

"This cabinet was left by the headmaster of the previous school," Dumbledore explained. "It used to be used to punish naughty students. Once locked in, there was no way they could escape."

Dumbledore's assurance put everyone at ease; with his magic, as long as Peter Pettigrew was locked in that cabinet, he wouldn't be able to escape.

"I'll contact Fudge immediately to explain the situation, but as you know, the Ministry of Magic's efficiency..."

The Ministry of Magic's bureaucracy and inefficiency are well-known, and even Dumbledore couldn't change that.

Afterwards, the two people, a cat, and a dog left the principal's office together.

"What's going on here? Why not just say you adopted a pet?" Wes wasn't satisfied with the plan, but he didn't have a better option at the moment.

Lupin replied with a serious expression, "Everyone knows I'm a poor wretch, how could I possibly afford such a big dog?" Although his expression was serious, his words carried a hint of lighthearted banter.

He gently patted the head of the large dog that Sirius had transformed into and chuckled, "Black Tiger, you should stay by your master's side."

Sirius was clearly not happy with the name. He forcefully pushed Lupin's hand away, snorted in dissatisfaction, and protested against the incredibly corny name with his actions.

"Ha~ha~" Lupin laughed as he waved goodbye to Wes and the others. "I have another class to teach, so I won't bother you any longer." With that, he turned and left, leaving a helpless Wes and Sirius Black, who had turned into a big dog.

The man and the dog stared at each other, the atmosphere somewhat awkward. Wes sighed helplessly, "What can I do? I've been eyeing the Black family's intellectual wealth."

As he spoke, he led "Black Tiger" and Crookshanks down the Hogwarts corridor, and this strange combination immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding students.

Just then, Hermione came running up, panting and looking quite anxious. "Crooked Hill!" she called out. "Where have you been? I've been looking for you for ages!"

Crookshanks, upon hearing Hermione's voice, leaped into her arms, nearly causing Hermione to drop him.

The chubby ginger cat kept rubbing against Hermione, meowing softly, as if apologizing or being affectionate, making Hermione giggle.

Suddenly, Ron stormed over, yelling, "You stupid cat! What did you do to Spot?!"

Crookshan seemed to understand Ron's words, and raised his head arrogantly, looking like he didn't care to pay attention to him.

This made Ron even angrier, his little face turning red with anger.

Hermione, not wanting to argue with Ron any longer, picked up Crookshanks and prepared to leave.

Ron, however, persisted, following closely behind them and constantly cursing Crookshank, demanding that it hand over Scabbers.

The scene drew laughter from the surrounding students, while Wes and Sirius were completely ignored and became mere background figures.

Wes shrugged. "Your good friend went home." He was referring to Crookshanks leaving with Hermione.

Sirius Black rolled his eyes at him.

"Professor, Professor Erwin!" Harry Potter ran up, panting. "Have you seen Hermione and Ron? I..."

Before Harry could finish speaking, a large black dog pounced on him and knocked him to the ground, rubbing its head against him repeatedly.

When Harry realized that the dog that had tackled him was a huge black dog, he was terrified and kept crawling backward.

Sirius, seeing Harry's reaction, let out a pitiful whimper; he was saddened by being misunderstood.

Wes quickly went over and helped Harry up: "Are you afraid of dogs?"

Harry shook his head, but still kept a certain distance, not daring to get close to Sirius.

"Professor Trelawney made a prophecy in her prophecy class, saying that the black dog would bring me bad luck or even death."

Upon hearing this, Sirius barked twice in dissatisfaction, expressing his displeasure with Professor Trelawney, and even having an urge to bite her.

"Professor Trelawney?"

Wes nodded. He knew Professor Trelawney was a wizard with prophetic blood, but most of her prophecies were considered nonsense. "Don't worry about it," Wes reassured Harry. "Black Tiger is very well-behaved."

"It's this black dog." Wes gently patted Sirius's head.

Sirius Black circled around Harry, wagging his tail like a propeller, hoping to get Harry's attention.

Harry cautiously reached out and gently patted Sirius's head. Feeling Harry's hand, Sirius grinned, revealing a row of white teeth.

Harry gradually relaxed and even took out a snack from his pocket and fed it to Sirius.

"Oh no, I still need to find Hermione and Ron. I hope they don't start fighting..."

Wes pointed out the direction Hermione and Ron had left in. Harry quickly thanked him and hurried away, leaving Sirius Black to watch Harry's departing figure with longing.

"Don't rush, there's plenty of time, isn't there?" Wes said softly.

In just one day, the news that Wes had adopted a big black dog spread like wildfire throughout Hogwarts.

The students discussed this extensively, since in their impression, Professor Erwin was not a particularly compassionate person; he usually gave the impression of being rigorous and focused on academic research.

However, it was just a dog. In this magical and fantastical school, the appearance of a dog didn't seem to be anything particularly surprising, and no one paid much attention to it.

The students quickly accepted the new member, although they would occasionally discuss the dog's origins and its relationship with Professor Weiss.

Strangely, the large dog named "Black Tiger" was not close to Professor Erwin; it seemed to maintain a distant attitude towards Wes.

On the contrary, it especially liked to stick close to Harry Potter, always wagging its tail happily and following closely by Harry's side, as if Harry was its whole world.

Even when Harry is in class, Black Tiger will quietly wait outside the classroom, waiting for Harry to finish class.

Harry wasn't used to having a big dog by his side at first. The sight of such a large figure following him everywhere made him feel a little uncomfortable.
