Chapter 69 The Meeting at the Three Brooms Bar
Chapter 69 The Meeting at the Three Broomsticks Bar
He rubbed his throbbing temples, and Sirius, standing beside him, asked in bewilderment, "Why are you working so hard? Dumbledore said your strength is almost surpassing his."
"The mysteries of magic are beyond the comprehension of your dog brain."
Sirius Black didn't take Wes's taunts to heart; his mind was entirely focused on the upcoming Christmas, and he was preoccupied with what gift to give Harry.
Harry was knocked unconscious by the Dementors and it took him a long time to recover. After being discharged from the hospital, he was even frightened by Draco and his friends disguised as Dementors. This made Harry determined to learn the spells to deal with the Dementors.
He knew that Dumbledore and Wes possessed spells to deal with Dementors. However, Dumbledore was too busy, and Harry could never find a suitable opportunity to ask him.
Harry wasn't familiar with Wes, but to overcome his fear, he mustered his courage and went to Wes's office.
"Knock knock, Professor Erwin, are you there?" Harry stood outside the door, feeling a little uneasy.
Sirius heard Harry's voice, immediately swallowed the food in two bites, and then quickly transformed into a big black dog.
"Come in, the door isn't locked."
After receiving permission, Harry pushed open the office door, and the moment he opened it, he saw Sirius Black rushing towards him. "Hi, Black Tiger," Harry said affectionately, petting Sirius, "Look what I brought you."
Harry pulled a steak wrapped in parchment paper from his bag: "The steak at lunch today was fantastic, I think you'll love it."
Sirius Black smelled the aroma of steak and wagged its tail excitedly. Even though it had only eaten one piece of steak, it finished off the steak Harry had brought in just a few bites.
While stroking Sirius's tail, Harry cautiously asked Wes, "Professor Erwin, could you tell me what magic you used to drive away the Dementors?"
"You mean the Guardian Charm?"
"The Patronus Charm?" Harry repeated the enchanting name excitedly. "Is this the spell you and the Headmaster used?"
The magnificent scene of Headmaster Dumbledore casting the Patronus Charm on the Quidditch pitch involuntarily flashed through his mind, and the powerful magic filled him with longing.
However, Wes's next words extinguished Harry's hopes.
"Learning the Guardian Charm is difficult; it requires a long time and a lot of practice..."
Harry's mood shifted from anticipation to disappointment, and he silently buried his head. He had thought he could easily learn this powerful spell, but he hadn't expected it to be so difficult.
Sirius, seeing Harry's disappointed look, barked anxiously. He circled around Harry, seemingly indignant on Harry's behalf, or perhaps urging Wes to find a way to help Harry.
Wes gently kicked Sirius, signaling him to calm down.
“I really don’t have time,” Wes said, pointing to a mountain of books on the table. “But you can talk to Professor Lupin. As far as I know, Professor Lupin is also very skilled with Patronus Charms.”
Wes's words turned Harry's worry into joy. He looked up at Wes with hope. "Professor Lupin? Does he really know the Patronus Charm?"
Wes nodded. "Yes, Professor Lupin is very skilled at this spell. And he has a wealth of experience and can teach you how to use the Patronus Charm correctly."
"But Professor Lupin doesn't seem to be feeling well..." Lupin was Harry's favorite professor this semester, and he remembered Professor Lupin's pale face and weak body.
"Don't worry, I think he'll be happy to teach you." Wes's words reassured Harry a lot. Although he was still a little uneasy, he happily went to find Lupin.
Sirius followed Harry around happily; he was a little too full and wanted to stretch his legs.

Soon, the much-anticipated Christmas will arrive again.
Wes had planned to study the Voodoo magic he had obtained from Blackbeard in his office, but Dumbledore dragged him to Hogsmeade Village without explanation.
With the Dementors recalled by the Ministry of Magic, Hogsmeade Village returned to its former bustling state.
The streets were bustling with activity, filled with laughter and joy. People's faces beamed with festive happiness, as if the terrible Dementor invasion had never happened.
The shop windows were newly decorated, with colorful lights twinkling, and the Christmas tree was covered with various ornaments; everything looked so warm and harmonious.
Dumbledore took Wes to the Three Broomsticks pub, where the butterbeer's rich flavor and unique aroma left a lasting impression on Wes.
"It's been a long time, Mrs. Rosmerta," Dumbledore greeted with a smile.
Lady Rosmerta greeted Dumbledore warmly with a cheek kiss: "Dumbledore, it's been a long time." She greeted Dumbledore with great enthusiasm, as if she were seeing an old friend she had not seen for a long time.
Turning her head and seeing Wes, she was a little uncertain. "Are you that very bright Ravenclaw student?" Mrs. Rosmerta looked Wes over carefully. Several years had passed, and Wes's demeanor had changed a lot. He was no longer the naive student he once was.
"Hello, Mrs. Rosmerta, I've missed your butterbeer ever since I graduated." Although it was just a polite remark, Mrs. Rosmerta was still very pleased.
Dumbledore led Wes to the private room and instructed him, "Fudge will be here soon."
"Oh, what a day it is today!" Mrs. Rosmerta exclaimed dramatically. "The greatest white wizard and the Minister of Magic are meeting in my little shop."
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"Perhaps they're discussing how to rule the British wizarding world," Dumbledore said with a playful wink. Lady Rosmerta laughed heartily, knowing Dumbledore was joking, but it made the atmosphere more relaxed.
Whatever Dumbledore and Fudge discussed was none of her business as the tavern owner. Mrs. Rosmerta smiled and left the private room, leaving Dumbledore and Wess alone to wait.
Soon, Fudge and his assistant Umbridge arrived at the private room. Fudge immediately began complaining as he entered: "You've given me a lot of trouble."
"The Dementors got what they deserved," Dumbledore retorted mercilessly to Fudge. "Sirius was wrongly accused, which was a major mistake by the Ministry of Magic."
Fudge was taken aback by Dumbledore's lack of respect, and his expression turned rather unpleasant.
The Dementors' invasion of the Quidditch pitch thoroughly enraged Dumbledore, who became less amiable towards Fudge, putting Fudge in an awkward position.
It was Umbridge who picked up where Dumbledore left off, easing Fudge's embarrassment. Umbridge wore a slightly obsequious smile, trying to ease the tension and allow the conversation to continue.
She said softly, "Professor Dumbledore, we fully understand your concerns, and Minister Fudge takes this matter very seriously. We are willing to listen to your advice and will take action as soon as possible."
Umbridge's words gave Fudge a breather, and Dumbledore softened his tone accordingly.
Wes didn't say a word the whole time, just watched Dumbledore and Fudge argue and bargain.
He observed a fascinating game of chess calmly, like a bystander.
The debate between Dumbledore and Fudge lasted for some time, but eventually they reached some kind of agreement.
The Ministry of Magic will drop the warrant for Sirius Black's arrest, but Sirius Black can only be officially exonerated after Peter Pettigrew is interrogated.
In short, everyone seemed satisfied on the surface.
