Chapter 70 Egypt, 1926

Wes had absolutely no interest in dealing with the Ministry of Magic. After Fudge and Umbridge left, Wes looked on with displeasure. "Don't ever ask me for this again. It's a complete waste of time."

Dumbledore didn't immediately respond to Wes's complaint, but instead slowly placed the Egyptian Book of the Dead on the table. The appearance of this book immediately drew Wes's attention.

"You handed over Voldemort's Horcruxes to me before, so we're on the same side now. I suppose you should have grasped the basics of Ancient Egyptian by now." Dumbledore stroked his long beard and continued, "You should be able to understand the contents of this book now."

Weiss nodded. Although there were some unfamiliar words in the book that he couldn't understand at first, he could roughly guess their meaning by guessing.

Wes carefully tucked the Egyptian Book of the Dead into his pocket, then hurriedly said goodbye to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore, meanwhile, continued to enjoy his wine leisurely, watching Wes's departing figure as if he could already foresee Wes's future research results.

Weiss is an extremely talented scholar, and given enough time and resources, he will surely achieve remarkable success.

After Sirius Black's arrest warrant was withdrawn, everyone assumed he had been caught again by the Ministry of Magic, so no one paid any more attention to the matter.

However, Sirius could no longer contain himself; he desperately wanted to reunite with Harry. Harry went from initial shock and disbelief to, with Dumbledore and Lupin testifying for Sirius, finally unable to hold back any longer, he threw himself into Sirius's arms.

The two hugged each other tightly, crying and laughing at the same time, a scene that moved people to tears.

However, Sirius Black's criminal record has not been completely cleared, so he cannot regain custody of Harry, which greatly disappoints both of them.

This was the happiest year for Harry. He not only mastered the Patronus Charm, an advanced spell, but also gained a loving godfather. Professor Lupin became Uncle Lupin, and with the help of Firebolt, Harry even won the House Cup. He felt that his life was complete.

After the final exams, Wes had planned to return to the Black family home with Sirius, but a sudden change made him change his mind.

-

Cairo, Egypt, 1926.

The numerous mosques here, with their towering minarets and unique styles, have earned Cairo the nickname "City of a Thousand Minarets." The Muhammad Ali Mosque atop Saladin's Citadel is particularly magnificent. The city's architectural style blends ancient traditions with modern elements, showcasing a distinctive character.

Inside the Egyptian National Library, Weiss is asking a question to a woman who possesses both British and Arabic features. This woman, named Evelyn, is fluent in Ancient Egyptian and is one of the library's senior researchers.

"Miss Evelyn, thank you so much for your guidance. Your Ancient Egyptian is truly amazing." Wes's praise was sincere and enthusiastic, making Evelyn beam with joy.

"I didn't expect Mr. Erwin to be so interested in ancient Egyptian at such a young age," Evelyn said, looking at Wes with admiration.

"Miss Evelyn is quite young, isn't she?"

"I came to Egypt from England because of my father's influence. He was very fascinated by Egyptian history..." Evelyn rambled on for a while, then suddenly realized she had said too much and quickly apologized to Wes.

Weiss smiled and shook his head, indicating that it was alright. Seeing that the sun was about to set and the sky was gradually getting dark, Weiss politely took his leave.

Evelyn was somewhat disappointed that Wes hadn't invited her to dinner.

As Weiss strolled through the streets of Cairo in the early 20th century, he began to make silent plans.

I don't remember the plot of the first Mummy movie very well, but as long as you follow Evelyn, you'll definitely find the Book of the Sun and the Book of the Dead.

That's right, Wes has now arrived in a new world—the mummy.

This is a very old movie, so old that Wes has forgotten most of the plot.

He only remembered that the female lead worked in a library. Fortunately, there weren't many libraries in Cairo in the early 20th century, and this was the only one with a beautiful librarian.

At first, Weiss only wanted to keep an eye on Evelyn, but he unexpectedly discovered that Evelyn had a profound knowledge of ancient Egyptian.

When Evelyn saw Wess reading a book about ancient Egyptian, she approached him and corrected many of his grammatical and pronunciation mistakes.

So Wes hired her as his private tutor. The librarian's salary wasn't high, and there weren't many people reading in the library, so Evelyn was happy to have this part-time job.

If there were a rating system, Evelyn's Ancient Egyptian would definitely be at an expert level, while Wes would only be a beginner.

A few days later, Wes ran into Evelyn, who was in a hurry, on his way to the library. She was accompanied by a slovenly man.

Wes's heart skipped a beat. [The plot is beginning.]

He took the initiative to step forward and greet her: "Evelyn."

"Wes"

After spending a few days together, the two had become familiar with each other and were no longer as polite as before. Jonathan, seeing his sister so familiar with a young and handsome man, assumed they were dating, and a smile involuntarily crept onto his face.

Evelyn could tell from his expression that Jonathan had misunderstood. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "This is Wes, an enthusiast of Ancient Egyptian." Then she introduced Wes, "Wes, this is my brother Jonathan."

Then the two shook hands amicably.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

"You two really aren't dating?" Jonathan still felt a little disappointed. "Evelyn is wonderful..."

"Jonathan!!" Evelyn blushed and hurriedly interrupted him.

"Well, that's a shame." Jonathan shrugged helplessly.

"Evelyn, where are you headed?" Wes asked, feigning curiosity. "I was planning to go to the library with you; I have some questions I'd like to ask you."

"We've found it..." The outspoken Evelyn revealed that she had found a map to Hamunaptrata, but it had been accidentally burned by the curator.

Wes immediately showed great interest: "Can I join in on something this interesting?"

"No way!" Jonathan immediately jumped in to refuse. He pulled Evelyn aside and whispered, "The fewer people involved in this kind of thing, the better, so we can get a bigger share of the treasure."

"I'm not interested in treasure," Wes said, making Evelyn a little embarrassed. Jonathan, however, didn't believe Wes at all; in his view, no one could resist the allure of money!

"You must need funds to go to Hamnata, right? Do you have a sufficient budget?" Wes's question made Jonathan and Evelyn look troubled.

Evelyn was just a library employee whose salary was barely enough to support herself.

Jonathan is a freelancer with excellent thieving skills. He has always been in the gray area, so where would he get any spare money?

Seeing their awkwardness, Weiss offered, "I can fund this expedition. I'm only interested in the history and culture of ancient Egypt and won't interfere with your plans."

Evelyn hesitated, then turned to Jonathan, hoping to get his approval.
