Chapter 72 Entering Hamunaptra

The next day, each person, filled with their own thoughts and expectations, boarded a magnificent cruise ship. This ship was not only luxurious on the outside, but also extremely opulent inside, with every detail showcasing its extraordinary status.

With ample funds, Weiss and his party of four stayed in extremely luxurious deluxe single rooms. Each room was equipped with a private bathroom and toilet, spacious and bright, elegantly decorated, and exceptionally comfortable.

Upon boarding the ship, O'Connor unexpectedly ran into her former comrade-in-arms, Benny. The two were clearly not on good terms; in fact, their relationship was tense.

Upon meeting, past conflicts and disagreements were instantly ignited, and they even had a heated argument.

"A group of Americans hired him; I'm going to gather some information."

After O'Connor finished speaking, she turned around without hesitation and ran quickly toward the deck.

Jonathan grumbled, "Who knows if he's really gathering intelligence or just going out drinking?" With that, he hurriedly followed O'Connor to the deck.

Wes and Evelyn chose to stay in their respective rooms, sitting on their balconies, gazing at the distant sea view, and feeling the coolness and comfort brought by the sea breeze.

The cruise ship sped across the azure sea, its massive hull resembling a mobile steel fortress, cutting through the calm surface and leaving a trail of white spray. Seagulls circled overhead, their cheerful cries adding a touch of life and energy to the journey.

Night fell quickly, and a huge black curtain silently enveloped the entire sky. The sea appeared exceptionally calm in the night, broken only by the occasional sound of waves, and the lights on the cruise ship gradually came on.

In the dead of night, several small boats, like ghosts, silently approached the cruise ship in the darkness.

A group of mysterious people dressed in black robes, completely covered up, quietly boarded the cruise ship.

Their movements were silent, like phantoms in the night, attracting no attention whatsoever.

"They've arrived." Wes sensed the strangers boarding the ship.

He didn't intend to deal with these people immediately; instead, he wanted to see what the mysterious power emanating from O'Connor was.

However, Evelyn's safety had to be protected. So, after Wes cast an armor spell on her, he hid himself using a Disillusionment Charm.

In this way, Evelyn can be protected to some extent even if she is attacked.

This group of mysterious individuals were highly trained, their skills far surpassing those of ordinary people. They were clearly elite warriors who had undergone long and rigorous training, displaying exceptional agility and dexterity.

Importantly, Wes sensed the same power in them as he did in O'Connor, only much weaker.

These mysterious figures are the guardians of Hamunaptra—the Megard Warriors. For three thousand years, they have silently protected Hamunaptra from being discovered by outsiders.

"Is that power a blessing from the Egyptian gods?" Wes wondered to himself. "But why does O'Connor also possess that power? He's also a Megadian warrior?"

Just as he was lost in thought, O'Connor discovered the invading Megad warriors, and a fierce gunfight instantly broke out between the two sides.

With dual pistols in hand, O'Connor instantly transformed into a fearless warrior. Each trigger pull precisely eliminated one Megad warrior after another, showing no mercy.

Wes keenly noticed that during the battle, the mysterious power within O'Connor began to activate.

His movements became more agile, as if they were one with his weapon. Every shot was as if it had been precisely calculated, with almost no bullets wasted.

Several times, just as the Meghad Warriors' bullets were about to hit O'Connor, something would always deflect them. It could be a flying vase, or a passerby caught in the crossfire.

Wes witnessed all of this, and these seemingly accidental events actually appeared to be manipulated by some incredible force.

After the Meghad warriors died, their mysterious power transferred to O'Connor, making him stronger and more powerful in battle.

Weiss noticed that every time a Megawara warrior fell, O'Connor's power seemed to increase. This power acted as an invisible shield, not only protecting O'Connor but also granting him superhuman fighting abilities.

Wes realized that O'Connor's identity was not simple.

At this moment, the Meghad warriors began to set the ship on fire. The fire spread rapidly, devouring everything like a ferocious beast.

The raging fire illuminated the dark night sky, crackling and popping.

Many people were burned alive, their screams echoing through the night sky, sending chills down one's spine.

Those who were wise had already abandoned ship, because they were not far from land.

Ultimately, the cruise ship was completely engulfed by fire and sank.

After O'Connor led Evelyn and Jonathan to a safe place, he began to look around.

"Wes? Where is Wes??" he called out anxiously, worried that Wes might have escaped the fire safely.

"I'm here." Wes stood unharmed on the shore, completely unscathed, not even his clothes were wet, as if nothing had happened to affect him.

"How did you do that?" Evelyn looked at Wess curiously, her simple mind not giving it much thought.

However, O'Connor and Jonathan were very wary.

"Who exactly are you?" O'Connor's hand touched the revolver at his waist, and his intuition told him that Wes was no ordinary person.

Instead of answering him directly, Weiss changed the subject: "The Americans are ready to leave."

An untimely voice rang out from afar, "Go to hell, O'Connor," Benny shouted sarcastically, "I'm always one step ahead of you."

"Damn it, we need to hurry." O'Connor slung the things over his shoulder and felt their weight. "We need to buy a few camels."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

They went to a nearby market, and in one corner of the market, they found a merchant selling camels. After some haggling, they bought six camels in one go, two of which were specifically for carrying goods.

These camels are tall and strong, and look perfectly suited for long journeys.

They quickly caught up with the Americans ahead, who had organized several dozen men and seemed intent on making a big splash in Hamnata.

They were fully equipped, clearly having made thorough preparations.

After several days of crossing the desert, they finally arrived at an open area in the early hours of the morning.

There was nothing here except some pebbles, and the surroundings were completely silent except for the sound of the wind blowing gently.

"We've arrived." O'Connor patted the camels' faces, then prepared food and water for them. "Eat up, you'll have to work hard later."

Jonathan looked around and found that apart from the flat terrain, there was nothing else there.

"Are you sure you've come to the right place? There's nothing here at all."

O'Connor smiled and ignored Jonathan's questioning.

"The time hasn't come yet. You'll find out when it does." O'Connor kept everyone in suspense, his mysterious demeanor making Jonathan even more impatient, but also piquing Evelyn's curiosity.

As dawn broke and the sun rose above the horizon, casting its first rays upon the desert, an ancient city began to emerge.

The ancient city seemed to have emerged from a dream, appearing and disappearing in the morning light like a mirage.

"What is this???" Evelyn covered her mouth, staring incredulously at the ancient city that had suddenly appeared before her, as if she had entered another time and space.

"Stop talking nonsense, charge!!" O'Connor flipped himself onto the camel. "If we miss the time, we won't be able to enter Hamunaptra." As he spoke, he whipped the camel, and the camel began to run towards Hamunaptra with all its might.

Wes and the others quickly mounted their horses and followed closely behind.

Dozens of camels began to gallop at once, raising a cloud of dust. Wes used magic to speed up six of the camels, and they were the first to rush into Hamunaptra.

"Benny, you're late," O'Connor said sarcastically to Benny when he arrived.

Benny had no choice but to lead the Americans to find another place to set up camp.

They were there for the money and didn't want to clash with Wes and his group.
