Chapter 79 Roadblock
Chapter 79 Roadblock
As the sounds of prayer continued, the originally fierce hail gradually subsided until it stopped completely, leaving only a mess on the ground.
The blood gradually returned to its normal color; the originally nauseating crimson color faded away, replaced by clear water.
The river water became clear again, and people flocked to the riverbank, cupping the clear water in their hands as if nothing had ever happened.
"It is the gods; they have not abandoned us!!!"
People began to shout, many weeping and kneeling on the ground, praising the Egyptian gods and expressing their gratitude and loyalty to them.
It is foreseeable that the number of people who believe in the Egyptian gods will multiply, because they have already performed miracles.
In people's eyes, this is the blessing and protection of the gods, a ray of hope for them in despair.
However, in Weiss's view, things were not so simple.
The Egyptian gods must have been held back by something, otherwise this disaster would not have lasted so long.
"Their influence on humanity is weakening, so they have no choice but to stage this drama." He understands that this seemingly miraculous disaster and redemption is nothing more than a measure taken by the gods to maintain their authority.
The power of the gods may be gradually waning, and they need to use this method to rekindle people's faith and consolidate their position among humans.

At that moment, Imhotep had already silently slipped into Evelyn's room, his eyes fixed on the woman who had awakened him from his long slumber.
In Imhotep's view, she was undoubtedly the perfect vessel for Anklua's resurrection. He had already devoured four Americans and was only one crucial step away from complete resurrection.
Just when he thought he was about to succeed, Wes's voice broke the silence of the night.
You won't succeed.
He stood in the doorway, wand in hand, quietly watching Imhotep.
"Wizard!" Imhotep whirled around, glaring at Wes. "It's you again! You're here to stop me?"
Wes quickly sat down on the sofa in the room. He didn't answer Imhotep's question, but just looked at Imhotep quietly.
Imhotep was thoroughly enraged by Wes's attitude and was about to make a move when O'Connor stormed into the room with a group of people.
Everyone gripped their weapons tightly, ready to deal with any situation that might arise.
Evelyn was also awakened by the sudden noise. When she saw Imhotep standing by her bed, she was so frightened that she immediately jumped out of bed and ran behind O'Connor in a panic.
Those at the door saw Wes and Imhotep facing off and dared not make a move; the atmosphere inside the room was extremely tense.
When Imhotep saw the last American appear, he immediately had a new plan: if he could devour this man, he could be fully resurrected and fulfill his long-held wish.
He raised his hands, and instantly a large amount of yellow sand appeared in the room, surging wildly and converging into a small sandstorm.
The sandstorm swirled in the room, emitting a terrifying roar. Furniture was swept into the vortex, and debris flew everywhere, turning the entire room into chaos.
The sandstorm swept towards the American, determined to devour him whole.
"Meow!!" A white cat appeared in the room at some point.
The cat was very cute, and it lightly leaped onto the piano, but to Imhotep it was terrifying.
Imhotep seemed to be terrified of the cat and immediately turned into a yellow gust of wind, escaping through the open window.
The whirlwind of yellow sand inside the room dissipated instantly, and Imhotep's figure vanished along with it.
Wes immediately used the Levitation Charm to catch up.
His figure moved swiftly through the air like a light feather, closely following Imhotep's trail.
Seeing that the two had left, O'Connor quickly led everyone away from this eerie place.
"Get out of here! It's not safe!"
Wes and Imhotep engaged in a thrilling chase over Cairo.
Wes followed closely behind, chanting spells in an attempt to disrupt Imhotep's path. Imhotep, using his speed advantage, constantly changed direction, trying to shake off Wes's pursuit.
Imhotep suddenly stopped atop a temple tower and began chanting a spell. The nearby river churned under his magic, creating towering waves that seemed poised to engulf Wes.
Wes reacted quickly, his wand shooting out a brilliant blue beam that pierced the night sky like a sword.
The moment the light touched the river water, it froze the water, forming a spectacular ice wall.
The ice wall was crystal clear, exuding a cold aura, and blocked the river's onslaught.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"I didn't expect you to have some skills," Imhotep sneered.
Wes didn't respond, but continued chanting the spell. Several black spheres, under Wes's control, shot towards Imhotep like meteors.
These spheres streaked through the air in black trails at incredible speeds.
Upon seeing this, Imhotep immediately summoned a swarm of locusts.
The swarms of locusts were a dense, dark mass, covering the sky and almost blocking out the moonlight.
The black sphere exploded as it approached the swarm of locusts. "Boom!" "Boom!" Flames burst forth, and the powerful impact burned most of the locusts to death, causing them to fall to the ground.
Wes waved his wand incessantly, and one by one, ice knights appeared. They quickly gathered around Wes, preparing to fight the creatures summoned by Imhotep.
These ice knights were all tall and imposing, clad in ice armor and wielding ice swords. They swung their ice swords and nimbly charged toward Imhotep.
Imhotep seemed to have been prepared, and with a wave of his hands, he stirred up a gust of wind.
The howling wind blew the knights into the air, then they crashed down, smashing to pieces.
These ice knights shattered in mid-air, their remains falling to the ground with a "crack" sound, turning into countless ice crystals that scattered everywhere.
Then, the temple beneath Imhotep's feet began to turn to sand, with sand pouring out from cracks in the floor and covering the entire structure.
The monks in the temple were also turned into mummies under the cover of yellow sand, their skin withered, their muscles atrophied, leaving only a thin layer of skin and bones.
They staggered out of the temple, their eyes vacant, these mummified corpses becoming Imhotep's soldiers like walking corpses.
Seeing this, Wes launched a counterattack.
Black flames, controlled by Wes, rose up like the roar of a demon, burning the yellow sand and the dried corpses to ashes.
The flames, as if alive, danced in the air, forming enormous eagles. The eagles swooped down, attacking Imhotep with incredible speed.
