Chapter 90 Conspiracy
Chapter 90 Conspiracy
Inside the principal's office, Wes and Moody sat opposite Dumbledore's desk. Three steaming cups of black tea sat on the table, but no one was tasting them, and a tense atmosphere filled the air.
Moody's blue prosthetic eye kept darting around, as if searching for hidden clues, and his deep voice broke the silence in the office.
"This is abnormal, it's extremely abnormal."
Dumbledore rested his head on his left hand, his brow furrowed: "Harry doesn't have the ability to put his name in the Goblet of Fire."
"Yes, Harry was also surprised to be chosen; he couldn't fool my eyes."
Moody was very confident in his observation skills, and he absolutely did not believe that a student's lie could fool him.
Seeing the two of them racking their brains, Wes decided to offer them some ideas.
"Professors wouldn't do something so pointless. If the students were capable, why would they need to write Harry's name on it?"
"If we eliminate all the impossibilities, then there's only one reason left—someone has a reason to make Harry participate in the competition."
"Who could it be?" Moody twitched his left foot, his fake eyes darting around.
Dumbledore began to ponder, his gaze drifting out the window into the distance. The room was so quiet that only the ticking of the clock could be heard.
Dumbledore seemed to have thought of something, and he looked away, turning his gaze back to Wes and Moody in front of him.
"Participating in the Triwizard Tournament is an honorable but also dangerous event, so the person who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire could not be Harry's friend."
"Death Eaters," Moody slammed his cane on the floor, "They've become very active since the Quidditch World Cup, and they even attacked me."
"Thinking about it now, the attack on you is very strange. Why did they attack you this year of all these years without seeking revenge?" Wes added.
Dumbledore and Moody were both intelligent men, and with a little guidance from Wes, they quickly deduced the Death Eaters' plan.
Moody had one thing he couldn't understand, so he asked, "The Goblet of Fire—their goal is to get Harry to touch it, but what's the point?"
Dumbledore suddenly stood up. "Port key! They can make the Goblet of Fire into a Port key, so they can teleport Harry out of Hogwarts and out of my sight."
After hearing Dumbledore's words, Moody suddenly stood up, ready to leave the office.
"Wait a minute," Wes hurriedly stopped him.
"What are we waiting for? There's a problem with the Cup of Fire, we have to stop the match." Moody sounded very anxious.
"and then?"
"Of course, we need to find that damned Death Eater and lock him up in Azkaban!" Moody gritted his teeth with hatred at the mention of the Death Eaters.
"and then?"
Faced with Wes's follow-up questions, Moody was momentarily at a loss for words.
"Um??"
"Capturing one Death Eater won't solve the fundamental problem. They'll have countless opportunities to harm Harry," Wes tapped the table. "Why don't we turn the tables on them?"
"You mean...?"
Moody became interested, and Dumbledore also sat back down in his comfortable office chair. Moody, in particular, couldn't wait to know Wes's next plan.
Wes looked up and gestured for Moody to sit down first. "I remember we only appear in the final Goblet of Fire match, right?"
"Yes, the player who finds the trophy first in the competition will win."
Wes continued, "That means the students were safe until then, and the Death Eaters didn't dare to make a move at Hogwarts."
At this point, Dumbledore and Moody had both realized what was happening.
"The Death Eaters went to great lengths to teleport Harry out of the world; it must be for something big, perhaps even Voldemort's doing," he said, picking up a cup of tea, blowing on it gently, and taking a sip. "We just need to follow Harry to uncover their plan."
"Dumbledore, this is a great opportunity!" Moody slammed his fist on the table excitedly, his cane striking the ground with a dull thud. "Even if Voldemort didn't orchestrate this himself, capturing a few more Death Eaters could force them to reveal Voldemort's whereabouts."
Dumbledore was impressed by the plan, but he was still hesitant.
"We can make a Portkey and put it on Harry, so we can follow him whenever he disappears. With you, me, and Moody around, even Voldemort at his peak would only face defeat."
Wes's words convinced Dumbledore. He stood up, walked to the window, and gazed at the campus in the night. "That's what we'll do, but we must protect the children."
"Of course," Wes said seriously. After all, as a professor at Hogwarts, he wouldn't risk the children's safety. "Just to be on the safe side, I think we can prepare for the worst. Cedric is also a Hogwarts student; you wouldn't want anything to happen to him, would you?"
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"What about Fleur and Krum?" Moody asked worriedly, gripping his cane tightly. "Should we tell the other two schools? I don't trust Karkaroff; he used to be a Death Eater."
"There's no need to tell anyone else that the Death Eaters' target is Harry, and they don't want to cause any trouble."
"I'll ask Severus to get information from Karkaroff," Dumbledore agreed with Wes. "We just need Harry or Cedric to be the first to touch the Goblet of Fire."
"The Death Eaters are the same in this respect, and now we're in the shadows." Moody calculated that, with preparations in place, the plan was virtually flawless.
"Moody, I'm leaving Harry in your care. At least make sure he's capable of protecting himself before we get there," Dumbledore said, looking at Moody with trust.
"No problem, I'll make sure Harry is safe."
"Leave Cedric to me," Wes volunteered to take on the task.
Dumbledore was slightly taken aback; he hadn't expected Wes to be so proactive this time.
Wes simply wanted to eliminate Voldemort and the Death Eaters once and for all; he was fed up with these guys causing trouble every year.
-
"Thump~ thump~"
Cedric knocked on Wes's office door.
"Come in," Wes's voice came from behind the door.
Hearing Wes's voice, Cedric straightened his clothes, took a deep breath, and pushed open the door to go inside. The office was softly lit, the bookshelves were filled with various magic books, and a faint scent of ink filled the air.
"Professor," Cedric greeted, then stood there somewhat uneasy. He didn't know why Wes had called him over; he had been completely baffled when he received the notification.
Wes sat behind his desk, his gaze gentle as he looked at Cedric. "Please sit down, Cedric," he said, gesturing to a chair opposite him.
The Harry Potter storyline will conclude in the next few days. The protagonist will travel to a new world, and before that, the Harry Potter storyline needs to be completed.
