Chapter 91 Secret Training

Cedric sat down as instructed, placing his hands on his knees, appearing somewhat nervous.

"Cedric, what do you think about Harry becoming the fourth champion?"

Cedric pondered for a moment. "Since the Goblet of Fire has chosen Harry, I think he's qualified to participate. Perhaps there's some quality about him that made the Goblet of Fire choose him." This sounded a bit high-sounding, but it was indeed Cedric's true thought.

Most students were very unhappy about Harry being chosen as the hero, but Cedric had his own judgment. He knew that Harry's abilities were simply not enough to surpass the age limit set by Dumbledore. As for who was helping Harry, Cedric didn't care.

He is not afraid of anyone as long as the competition is fair.

"There's something I need your cooperation with..."

Cedric's attention immediately focused, and Wes began to explain their plan in detail, from the possibility that the Goblet of Fire had been tampered with, to the conspiracy that the Death Eaters might be involved in, and how they were prepared to deal with it all.

Cedric was stunned. He hadn't expected the Death Eaters to be involved in the Triwizard Tournament and couldn't accept this reality for a moment.

"I thought they had all been captured and the mysterious man was dead."

"Why are you telling me this? Wouldn't it be more beneficial for your plans to keep it from me?"

Wes smiled slightly, a hint of admiration in his eyes.

"You're a smart kid, and you're much stronger than Harry. There's a good chance you'll be the first to touch the Goblet of Fire. The Death Eaters won't spare your life just because you're a child. You know our plan, and we don't want you in danger. The Death Eaters' target is Harry. If you can accept withdrawing from the tournament..."

"No!" Cedric clenched his fists. "I won't withdraw from the competition!"

Weiss shrugged, seemingly having anticipated Cedric's reaction.

"So we need to make sure you're capable of protecting yourself. Giving you special training for no reason will only arouse your suspicion, Cedric. You're not as easily fooled as Harry, which is why I'm being honest with you."

"Think about it carefully, don't rush to give me an answer."

After Weiss finished speaking, he handed him a glass of water.

Cedric sat in his chair and pondered for a long time before finally making up his mind: "Professor, I am willing to cooperate with you."

"Are you sure? We can't guarantee your safety 100%. This is no joke; you'll be facing Death Eaters head-on, and you'll be fighting them."

Wes kindly reminded Cedric again that this was not a simple decision and that he needed to think it through carefully.

Cedric raised his wand and said confidently, "I am the hero chosen by the Goblet of Fire."

"Now that you've made your decision, this matter needs to be kept secret." He patted Cedric on the shoulder. "Including you, only four people know about this plan."

Cedric promised that he would never reveal the plan and even offered to swear an "unbreakable oath".

Wes smiled and shook his head, indicating that it wasn't necessary. "I believe you, Cedric. You understand the importance of this plan, and that's enough."

Wes could tell that although Cedric maintained a calm expression, he was actually very nervous and excited.

It's no wonder that a 17-year-old is excited to suddenly know so many secrets and play such an important role in them.

"Get a good rest tonight. I'll be giving you special training starting tomorrow. You're still far from being strong enough to survive against the Death Eaters."

When he was a child, Wes also fantasized about receiving a secret mission, turning the tide and becoming a hero. He knew what that feeling was like.

"Understood, Professor. I will do my best."

After Cedric left the office, Wes returned to his desk and continued preparing for the next steps of the plan.

Starting the next day, Wes put Cedric under rigorous special training. The training was simple: real combat, and constant real combat.

Forbidden Forest: In the dark and damp Forbidden Forest, Wes' clones constantly appear, and Cedric must dodge and fight back amidst the complex terrain. Initially, Cedric will be defeated by Wes' clones in less than five minutes.

Black Lake: In the icy depths of Black Lake, Cedric not only had to contend with underwater obstacles but also with Wes's clones. The training here greatly improved his endurance and reaction speed.

Mountainous terrain: On the rugged mountainous terrain, Cedric learned how to use the terrain for cover and attack.

Whether it's day or night, Cedric must remain vigilant at all times, as Wes's clone could appear at any moment.

Wes had only one requirement for Cedric's training: successfully escape from his clone's pursuit.

At first, Cedric could only last a few minutes, but as time went on, he gradually became able to last longer.

By the time the first match started, Cedric had been able to hold out for half an hour.

To achieve this goal, Cedric gave up all his free time and even reduced the time he spent with his girlfriend.

He was covered in injuries every day at the end of training, and if it weren't for Mrs. Pomfrey's superb medical skills, he would have given up long ago.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Meanwhile, Harry was also undergoing special training from Moody, whose training methods were much harsher than Wes's, leaving Harry exhausted.

Harry and Cedric met in the school infirmary every day, and over time, they became quite familiar with each other.

That night, the two, who shared the same ailment, lay on adjacent beds receiving treatment from Mrs. Pomfrey.

"Honestly, even if you're chosen as the hero, you don't need to push yourself this hard," Madam Pomfrey said, clearly displeased. Her brow furrowed even more when she saw Harry's wounds. "No, I'm going to find Dumbledore. Harry, you're still young. This kind of intense training will affect your development. You don't want to stunt your growth, do you?"

After telling the two of them to get some rest, Mrs. Pomfrey hurriedly ran to the principal's office to complain.

Harry and Cedric were left staring at each other, the atmosphere becoming somewhat awkward.

"Um..." Harry began.

"Um..." Cedric said almost simultaneously.

The two exchanged a glance and said in unison, "You go first!"

The two couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"I didn't expect we'd be so in sync," Cedric shrugged and said with a smile. "You go first."

Harry nodded, deciding to speak first. "The first match will be against a dragon," he said, recounting the information he'd received from Hagrid. "I know it sounds crazy, but I'm sure it's true."

Cedric was stunned at first, then laughed until tears streamed down his face. Harry was puzzled by his reaction and even worried that Cedric might have some kind of illness, wondering if he should call Madam Pomfrey back.

Cedric wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes and explained, "That's what I was thinking too. It seems we really have a good understanding."

Harry grinned, his tension instantly easing, and the two rivals felt a mutual respect for each other at that moment.
