Chapter 43 should include follow-up interviews.
Chapter 43: Follow-up Interviews Required (Part 2)
Ten minutes later.
Gaskell changed rooms.
The three people were sitting in the room, and the camera was pointed at them.
Ian, holding the microphone, said to the camera, "This is perhaps the rarest interview ever, because the host is an eyewitness, and the interviewee is a photographer. We both experienced this tragedy under special circumstances, and as a result, became unprofessional shooters and unprofessional photographers. Now, let's interview Mr. Gaskellbent, the victim and photographer of the Orat Hotel shooting, and the chairman of Los Angeles Linuo Bank."
He then pointed the microphone at Gaskell: "Mr. Bent, what are your thoughts on the gunfight that just happened?"
Gaskell smiled and said, "I was terrified. You can feel how I felt through that shaky camera."
Lena covered her cute little mouth and laughed.
When Ian first started shooting and hijacking the car, she thought he was just a reckless young man.
The subsequent hotel shooting, however, finally allowed her to see Ian's strength and courage.
He's just a smart and brave young man who likes to solve problems efficiently!
Lena thought to herself.
Ian continued, "But you still bravely picked up the camera, was it to protect your wife?"
Navigating the subject towards romance adds even more elements.
Gaskell turned to look at Lena, smiled at the camera, and said, "I love my wife, but honestly, I wasn't thinking that much at the time. The reason I was filming all this was because the interviewer told me not to worry, he'd handle everything. I chose to trust you... not because we're that close, but like a drowning man grasping at a straw, I had no other choice. But now I know the guy interviewing me is a trustworthy bastard, so if there's a next time, I'll take the initiative to film."
He then looked at Ian and said, "Why won't you let me interview you? As the person involved, you also need to be interviewed. Tell me, Ian, what enabled you to still pick up the camera and face all this under those circumstances?"
Ian addressed the camera, saying, "A journalist's professional ethics! Our duty is to bring the truth to the audience! To let the audience live in a world without deception, to let them see everything that happens, to expose the darkness, to bring light—we will do anything for this, including ourselves!"
Gaskell immediately asked, "Does that include interviewing those who have been harmed?"
He was alluding to Ian's interview with "The Burning Torch".
Ian smiled: "If one day I fall from a great height, I hope there's a microphone to interview me about how I feel when I land without a parachute; if one day I'm flying through a fire, I hope I can give a victory sign to the camera; if one day I'm shot through the chest, I'll open my wound and let them see the last stubborn beating of my heart; if one day I'm caught cheating in bed..."
He paused.
Lena laughed and replied, "You'll reveal everything about yourself?"
Ian shook his head slightly: "No, I'll rush over and smash the camera right now."
To conduct an interview, you must be able to use memes, create twists, and be funny.
In short, it's about stirring up the audience's emotions.
You can't let them guess what you're about to say.
Therefore, everyone and everything can be put on the table, ridiculed, mocked, and even insulted.
A famous person once said, "Half of the money you earn comes from being scolded," and that's absolutely true!
So if one day Ian were caught cheating by a paparazzi and they were snapping photos of him, he'd more likely think, "Hey, watch your lens, don't make my 'brother' look too small!"
But that doesn't stop him from contradicting himself now.
People like to be proven wrong.
You can slap someone else in the face, or even slap yourself in the face, but you can't let someone else slap you in the face!
The interviews went very well. After interviewing the Gaskells, Ian went on to interview the receptionist and other guests in the rooms.
Although they didn't like being disturbed, the passengers were cooperative because they knew this person had saved them.
A young Black man yelled into the camera, "I didn't know they were outside, otherwise I would have rushed out and smashed their heads with my fists."
Ian said, "But dozens of shots were fired, didn't you know?"
The Black man yelled, "Because I'm hard of hearing! I can never hear what people are saying, otherwise why would my voice be so loud? You know, hard of hearing people always have loud voices, right?"
Ian smiled: "I believe you."
The Black guy grinned.
After interviewing other residents in the vicinity, Ian went back to write his article.
Follow-up reports on the shooting, including photos not seen in the video—all exclusive news for tomorrow's Los Angeles Herald.
After sending the message to Lloyd and instructing him to arrange it immediately, Ian went to bed.
Because he stayed up late yesterday, Ian slept in.
The next day, Ian got up and went outside to buy a copy of the Herald newspaper.
The online news from last night had already started to spread, so today's Los Angeles Herald saw a surge in print runs and soaring sales.
Looking at the contents of the newsletter, Ian took a bite of the hot dog he had just bought, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
When I opened the website on my computer, I saw that it was indeed filled with numerous comments.
The latest novel is first published here!
"Fuck! This is the most exciting and thrilling gunfight I've seen all year!"
"This camera is so shaky! So shaky!"
"You can't expect a bank president to produce a high-quality video."
"How do you know it was the bank manager who took the photo?"
"Idiot, look at the interview in the Herald, the follow-up report is already out."
"Damn Ian Carr, why did he split the report into parts?"
"Because besides being a brilliant journalist, he's also a damn cunning businessman."
"Wow, this kid's marksmanship is pretty good."
"I didn't think he was that great. The key is that he's very good at timing; he always manages to fire at just the right moment... Even my eighty-year-old grandmother could kill those guys standing in the hallway firing at the door!"
The person who said this was undoubtedly a veteran with guns, who didn't care about Ian's beginner-level marksmanship, but praised his grasp of timing.
Some people also said:
"So, is this the reporter who covered the burning torch? And he's handsome! I want to freeze this moment!"
"Ian Carl, you're absolutely captivating. I've seen your big gun, but now I'd like to see your little one, or maybe not small either! I can leave my address; I'm beautiful, and I'm not sick... at least not yet!"
Of course, there were also dissenting voices.
Some people are shouting, "Ian Carr is just a clown trying to attract attention!"
This is definitely jealousy from competitors!
Ian chuckled as he read the comments.
He shook his head slightly: "You should at least post a photo and come to me... The Los Angeles Herald isn't hard to find."
The butterfly, who had planned to become famous, hadn't really made it big yet, but unexpectedly became famous again because of the burning torch and shooting incident. It just goes to show that things are unpredictable.
Then he quickly left a comment: "Go buy the Los Angeles Herald; it has more specific information. The Los Angeles Herald focuses on breaking news, bringing you the biggest stories first! We never accept outdated news!"
After leaving those words, Ian shut down his computer, looked at his eyes, and sure enough, his spread points had begun to increase.
The news has only just begun to spread, but it won't be long before the right eye is officially promoted to level two.
