Demigod Mage in America
Chapter 22 Begging for Mercy
"Dad, I ran into your friend. Yes, he said he wants you to come to East 96th Street and Fifth Avenue so we can have dinner together."
Ryan drank his water and watched Kevin's performance quietly until Kevin hung up the phone before slowly speaking.
"Have you finished hinting to your father?"
"What are you saying?"
The black man looked bewildered, slowly putting down his phone. The whole process was extremely natural, and he didn't show any fear even when Zhang Tuan was staring at him intently.
Renn tapped the armrest without saying anything, but trying to outsmart him was still a bit of a stretch.
Catherine looked at the corpses scattered on the ground and Kevin kneeling there. Her mouth was slightly open, but in the end, she didn't say anything.
"You know what? That gunman from last time was one of his men."
Upon hearing this, the policewoman's expression, which had been one of reluctance, suddenly changed. She looked at Ryan with a questioning and doubtful look in her eyes.
"You know I don't like lying."
Raine fiddled with the ring, his tone calm.
This was his speculation; after all, he had seen too many tricks, which was what was called life experience, and he didn't need to use magic.
After learning that the black man's name was Kevin, that he had a gun, and that he was a local gang leader, Ryan pieced together the whole story.
"Even so, he still didn't meet the criteria for the death penalty..."
Seeing Catherine's soft-hearted look, Ryan originally wanted to add some more shocking information to her story, but after thinking about it, he decided against it. Some things are better experienced by oneself than told a thousand times.
As the proxy he has chosen, it's always good for him to suffer a little.
"Okay, you play by your rules, and I'll play by mine."
He is the rule, and the rule is him. Ryan is never afraid of anyone taking advantage of him, because he doesn't care.
But he will plug that loophole, just like the goddess of magic, who will still allow a certain magic to be born even if she knows it will threaten the whole world.
But afterwards, she will choose to seal this magic completely, so that no one can learn or use it.
Kevin couldn't understand the meaning of their conversation at all; he just hoped that his father could understand his hints.
He was implying in his words that he had met his father's friend.
But only he knew that his father had no friends at all!
Kevin felt indignant as he watched Yahao playing with the gold ring and the policewoman beside him, but he dared not show it.
Because of his four underlings, one had his neck broken, another had his heart removed, another had his intestines pulled out, and yet another had his spine pulled out.
The whole scene was terrifying and horrifying. Even Catherine gagged a few times, which is why she tried to stop Ryan earlier.
As for Zhang Tuan, besides the excitement of seeing revenge in sight, he was also filled with fear of Raine.
Kevin didn't even have time to put up a fight before all his men were taken care of by the Death Warrior in the blink of an eye.
He was at the mercy of Raine, and now he didn't even have a seat.
At least Catherine and he had a place to stand, Kevin was kneeling on the ground, while the tall figure could only stand obediently behind Ryan.
There were no complaints, and no emotion on his face.
Now that we know this is a monster, who is Rein, who can control this monster?
Just as he was pondering this, Kevin's phone rang again.
"It's my dad."
He glanced at the caller ID, then cautiously looked up at Ryan.
"catch."
Kevin, having received permission, immediately answered the phone and quickly explained his location.
A short while later, there was a knock on the door.
"Do you have any needs? Like, how you'll die, or if you need to do it yourself?"
Ryan looked at Zhang Tuan; he always tried to satisfy his clients whenever possible.
"Is...is that okay?"
"Of course, meeting customer needs is our store's top priority."
"I want to see them die a horrible death, the more horrible the better!" His face contorted with rage as he finished speaking.
Then the knocking started again, this time much more urgent.
Ryan waved his hand, indicating that he could do whatever he wanted.
Zhang Tuan took a deep breath—though he couldn't inhale much—and stood up from the chair.
At this moment, he seemed to forget that he was a spirit, and he walked unsteadily toward the door.
It wasn't a long road, but he walked it for a long time.
Finally, after touching the doorknob, Ryan cooperated with him and gently pressed down from a distance, and the door opened.
Two Black people and one Asian person were exposed.
Zhang Tuan's face was now filled with rage, and his face, which had regained its human form, turned ferocious again.
He hid in the darkness, afraid to be exposed to the sunlight.
"Old Zhang, it's you!"
Raine heard the yellow-skinned woman say something in surprise, her tone a mixture of three parts astonishment and seven parts fear.
Then, she tried to turn around and run away, but the black man grabbed her tightly and pushed her into the office.
Zhang Tuan sneered and stepped aside.
"Come in if you're not afraid of dying."
The leading Black man simply watched him calmly, took a deep breath, and stepped into the office.
Having learned his lesson the hard way, he didn't act impulsively this time and restrained his anger as he returned to his seat.
He's already paid the price; now it's his turn to watch the show!
The scene inside the office was beyond what the Black man had imagined. His son was kneeling beside him, sweating profusely, and the fate of several of his men was unknown.
The woman beside him was trembling with fear, as her husband, who had been dead for many years, suddenly appeared before her.
"Don't blame me...don't blame me..."
She clasped her hands together and kept bowing to Zhang Tuan, not daring to even look at him.
The Black man next to the woman was wearing blue overalls, with the long sleeves rolled up to reveal his muscular physique and several centipede-like scars.
The Black man cleared his throat: "Dude, what does this mean?"
Raine ignored him and looked at Zhang Tuan instead.
"How do you want them to die? To confess to you?"
The ghost's face shifted for a while, switching back and forth between the severe burns and a human face.
"I want them dead! The more painful their death, the better!"
His voice was like the sharp, piercing sound of glass rubbing together.
The sound was so terrifying that the woman finally couldn't take the pressure and looked up at him out of the corner of her eye.
Upon seeing the severely burned face, her expression turned deathly pale, and she could no longer support herself, kneeling on the ground and kowtowing repeatedly.
"Old Zhang, please don't blame me! It was all this bastard's fault! I really didn't want to be with him! Don't blame me... Waaah..."
"Get up!" the black man shouted, raising his foot as if to stomp down.
However, at that moment, an energy hand suddenly appeared and pulled the woman aside.
"Your decision-making power over her is not in your hands now, Mr. Bruce."
The woman was still muttering, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have put things under your pillow..." The rest of her words were indistinct, and Ryan didn't bother to listen.
Bruce, who had been singled out, was both surprised and furious: "I knew you weren't an ordinary person. Whose side are you on? Why are you in Harlem? Don't you know whose territory this is?"
Bruce, the black man, was completely unaware of the gleam that his words had caused in Ryan's eyes, who had remained calm and composed.
That's something called "curiosity".
"Oh? Whose territory is this?"
Have you ever heard of Hawkeye Murphy?
Ryan shook his head: "Is he that good?"
Upon seeing this, a hint of contempt flashed across Bruce's face, though brief, it was caught by Ryan.
He was probably one of the lucky ones who obtained the mysterious information from somewhere, just like the other one.
The Black man silently labeled Ryan.
"Murphy is the strongest sorcerer in all of East Harlem. If you dare to act recklessly on his turf, you might not even know how you died!"
"A sorcerer? Is he a warlock?" Renn muttered to himself. He had originally thought that this man who could dominate an entire block must be someone extraordinary.
Unfortunately, Bruce disappointed him greatly.
Too weak! Too weak! Too weak! He couldn't even budge Renn by a step.
He originally intended for the Death Warrior to crush him, but after glancing at Catherine beside him, a thought struck him.
Show off a little skill to leave a lasting impression on her, so she'll remember him if she ever needs anything in the future.
