Chapter 53: There’s Been A Big Problem In The Company

He watched as Ning Youyou entered the house and waited until the lights in her room were on before he drove away.

On their way back to the apartment, Yi Qianya started to look better as colors returned to her cheeks.

Nevertheless, Yi Beichen only focused on his driving.

Yi Qianya stared at the man in the driver’s seat for quite a while before expressing her concern, “Brother, don’t you have feelings for Youyou? All-day I’ve been trying so hard to bring you and Youyou together. Why didn’t you show more initiative and do something?”

The man showed her an amused expression.

“Qianya, you don’t understand.”

“What don’t I understand?”

“Growing up with Youyou, I do know a thing or two about her. If I tell her how I truly feel about her, it’ll only take her by surprise.”

Yi Qianya looked at him with a wry face, for she really could not fathom why her brother was being so reserved about his feelings.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Ning Youyou sat in front of her laptop, trying to find another job for herself.

The past offenses could not be reconciled, so she had no other option but to resign. She would submit her resignation first thing on Monday morning.

She did not plan to tell her parents about it. They should not be worried about such matters.

She spent a day in front of her laptop, but the result of her job search was not too satisfactory. Instead, she had been researching the background of Zhou Feng.

Her mother was busy cooking in the kitchen, while her father was sitting on the couch, with his eyes fixed on the live news broadcast. Seeing her parents made her rethink her priorities.

She took a deep breath before racing into the kitchen to help her mother.

“Mom, what are we having tonight? Let me help!”

Yun Xiu was working on her braised ribs when Ning Youyou suddenly interrupted her.

“Go and watch the television with your father. If you want to help, you can do the dishes after the meal.”

She appeared to be grinning cheerfully at her mother, for she was reminded of how beautiful and loving her mother was. There was nothing much to be worried about, really, as long as she had her family with her.

Tomorrow’s always going to be better, isn’t it?

It was soon Monday. The never-ending disturbance from her phone roused her from sleep.

“Youyou, there’s been a big problem in the company! You’d better hurry!”
