Paying The Price
Chapter 11 - Find Zach In Denn City
Wayne was stupefied.
Did she just tell him off?!
Four years ago, Diana wouldn't be so outspoken like this. She wasn't a weakling neither was she valorous, she often stood up for herself especially when encountered with Fiona but her low EQ puts her in tight situations whereby she would be labelled as an arrogant, sometimes foolish person.
The way she sounded was different from the past her —more courageous and fierce. Her body language was threatening, depicting chutzpah, something he had never witnessed in her.
Wayne carefully observed her departing figure, carrying Pearl in one hand and struggling with the bags in the other, he could see a strong cable woman now. Recalling her words he was slightly chuckled.
What he was amused about?
He had no idea. The new was interesting but the old her was soothing. Wayne couldn't comprehend which he liked best, the former or the latter. Anyone would be good as long as she's by his side.
That was the problem. How would he keep her by his side. Wayne knew better than to forcefully hold her down, particularly now that they have a daughter. A very smart and mother protective device. Wayne would have to make her willing to stay, that would mean him stopping low even asking for help.
.....
Wayne's mansion exhibited his personality— noble, firm, intimidating cold and dull. Diana made the place more lively, but with her absence the servants went to their normal way of being buried in their works.
Wayne recalled her last statement— apparently the only words he heard— and was determined to find out who Zach was.
Contacting his assistant with his phone, he gave the order "Find Zach in Denn City."
"Zach who?" The confused Felix asked.
"Friend of Diana." Wayne coldly replied.
"But sir, we never actually tracked Diana so we can't know her acquintance." Felix replied but only got a dead line. 'Serves you right for being a strong head.' Felix cursed inward not daring to say out loud for he feared the walls would hear.
Wayne placed his phone on the window seat, taking a sip of his wine he was lost.
Denn City was also dominated by Wayne Grand, as a large city it had quite a population. Anyone there could bear Zach.
