Paying The Price

Chapter 61 - Definitely Good Things.

The girl before him was incredibly cute, with a smile on she looked a lot like Diana but Grey could detect a little of Wayne in her features.

Surprisingly, he didn't find it annoying.

Maybe it was because she was more like Diana than Wayne.

Grey bent down to take Pearl's little hand and shook it slightly "Hello Pearl. I heard so much about you."

Pearl drew her hand back after the shake, she shoot him a look before saying "Good things I hope."

"Definitely good things. How was your trip?"

"I can't say for sure. All I did was close my eyes and opened them and find myself in different locations."

"Then it wasn't bad now was it?"

Grey couldn't help a smile, for he found this little a.d.u.l.t interesting.

Pearl observed her surroundings once more and commented "You have a lovely. It's scenery is amazingly beautiful."

"Oh." Grey said. If he didn't know about Diana leaving Wayne and raising Pearl in a simple place, he would have thought she must have attended a fancy class and received high-end lectures.

"Are we going in?" Pearl asked when she found Grey to be a little lost.

"Yes, yes, come in." He urshered her in.

Zach who was ahead stretched out his hand for Pearl to reach on. Together they both walked in.

Grey and Diana watched from behind and slowly walked in too "You have a smart one."

"Thanks, I guess." Diana replied.

The interior of the house was elegant yet warm. It made Diana wonder what kind of man Grey was?

The cushion was soft and comfortable to sit on, it was similar to her favorite chair back at Wayne's house. It made her almost want to never get up.

Zach and Pearl had walked through a hallway. Even with the present circ.u.mstances and her insecured spirit, Diana didn't mind Pearl being with Zach and she was a little surprised by her calmness.

"Tea?" Grey placed a tray on the table before her.

She nodded in response and watched him pour her some.

"You should know why you're here." Grey passed her a cup and poured himself a tea.

Diana lowered her head and payed attention to the steam emerging from her cup "Yeah." she said in a disappointed low tone.

Grey sat on the couch directly opposite Diana, he c.a.r.e.s.sed his tea cup with his fingers "Your father was my closest friend."

"So I heard. And I also heard you don't have much liking for my husband." Diana had her eyes fixed on him now.

"That's right. You know Wayne is a little..., his a little too much."
