Chapter 847 Extra Chapter 1: Water Seven
"Attention passengers, your G1521 sea train is about to arrive at Seven Waters Station. Passengers disembarking at Seven Waters Station, please prepare to disembark, take your belongings, and take care of the elderly and children..."
Amidst the rhythmic clanging of wheels against rails, a white-painted, eighteen-carriage sea train sped across the shimmering expanse of the sea like a white dragon. The spray from the wheels, shimmering in the sunlight, formed rainbows of various colors, eliciting exclamations of wonder from the passengers watching through the windows.
"So beautiful! So many rainbows!"
In carriage number sixteen, a black-haired girl in a plain white dress gazed in amazement at the azure sea outside the window and the rainbows that occasionally appeared in the sky above the sea. She couldn't help but stand up from her seat, lean her upper body out of the window, grab the windowsill with both hands, and look at the sea outside and the floating city that kept getting bigger in her line of sight.
Although the train slowed down as it was about to enter the station, the sea breeze still made the girl's long black hair messy, and the splashing seawater wet her clothes and cheeks, but the smile on the girl's face did not diminish, and there was visible anticipation and happiness in her eyes.
"That's the Water Seven City that Sister Koala mentioned, the miracle city of the Grand Line, the sea city that conquered the Storm God, the birthplace of the Sea Train, and the hometown of the great scientist Mr. Tom."
The girl strained to keep her eyes open, which were nearly squinting from the sea breeze, as she looked toward Water Seven, which was drawing ever closer.
In her view, a giant, fountain-like tower-shaped city sat steadily on the undulating sea.
From a distance, this floating city resembles an upside-down pine cone, with rows of houses spiraling across its surface like the fine scales of a pine cone. Waterways meander through these buildings, forming vital transportation hubs. Water cascades down from a massive fountain at the city's highest point, connecting every corner of the city and ultimately linking to the sea below.
The seawater is pulled upstream by some unseen device, flowing into the city's dense network of canals, transporting the unique Blue ships of Water Seven, carrying passengers and cargo, in and out of them, in an endless cycle.
At the bottom of this floating city, where it connects to the sea, there are huge dock entrances. Trains of various colors come from all directions, entering each dock entrance in a well-organized manner. After stopping briefly at a station inside the city, they exit from another dock entrance, whistling cheerfully as they head into the distance.
The girl stared blankly at the city before her, a city she had heard about from others but was visiting for the first time today, and was deeply moved by its magnificent scenery.
Compared to the barrenness and desolation of the South China Sea, this city before me is like a miraculous creation that only exists in a dream.
The girl was so engrossed in watching that she didn't notice a swordfish, startled by the friction of the train tracks, leaping frantically from the sea. Its silvery back broke through the water, and its sharp, slender head shot straight towards her like an arrow.
Just as her fragile neck was about to be pierced by the swordfish's head, which was as sharp as a sword blade, a rough, large hand suddenly reached out from the carriage behind her. The fingers spread out and firmly grabbed the flying swordfish, bringing the three-meter-long swordfish to a standstill in mid-air beside the girl. Its wide tail and dorsal fin were still twisting on their own, but it could not break free from the grip of the large hand.
"Idiot, watch your step. If you lose your life to a fish right after you come out, you'll make the leader lose all face."
A deep, resonant voice, seemingly echoing from the chest, rang in the girl's ears, finally jolting her out of her reverie.
She glanced at the swordfish that had been casually tossed aside by the large hand, a bright smile appearing in her eyes. She turned around lightly and said with a grin, "Isn't it because you're here, brother, that I'm so relaxed? With you here, not to mention a fish, even if those army generals came, they couldn't hurt me, hehe, don't you think?"
"This is no excuse for your carelessness. Did you awaken your Observation Haki in vain?"
In front of the girl, in the same row, sat a short-haired young man who was two heads taller than her even when sitting, and whose body was as strong as a bear. He was looking straight ahead without glancing to the side.
The young man wore only a tight vest, and his overly developed muscles, as if cast in steel, were coiled around his body, giving him an unparalleled visual impact. In the eyes of the other passengers in the same carriage, he looked like a sculpted statue, appearing heavy and majestic.
However, due to his overly strong and tall physique, the young man was not suitable for riding in a train with fixed seats. The gap between the two rows of seats was not enough for him to stretch his legs, making his posture look somewhat cramped. He could not sit fully on the chair and could only squat with his knees slightly bent, to the point that his head was almost touching the top of the carriage.
Despite the vast diversity of human beings in the world, and the fact that the other passengers in the carriage were not exactly unsophisticated, their gazes toward the young man were still filled with caution, even fear.
At the entrance to the carriage, two railway police officers had already noticed the young man with an unusual build. They remained vigilant and worried throughout the train's journey, fearing that this man, who appeared extremely violent, might cause trouble on the train.
Fortunately, during this not-so-short journey, the seemingly fierce man did not do anything to endanger the train or other passengers. On the contrary, in order to avoid damaging the seats in front of him, he even squatted down the whole way, which greatly relieved the train police officers.
Hearing the young man's merciless rebuke, the girl pouted her cheeks in anger, snorted, and muttered, "You've traveled all over the world with the leader and the others, seen all sorts of things, and been to Water Seven many times, of course you don't feel anything. This is my first time traveling far from home, and my first time seeing Water Seven..."
"We've arrived at the station, get off now."
Rao, the older brother Alice mentioned, stood up expressionlessly, carefully avoiding the clutter in the narrow passageway and the passengers with standing tickets, and walked towards the door with a bent back.
"Hey, wait for me, brother!" Alice quickly jogged to catch up.
With their overly robust and tall brother Rao leading the way, the siblings easily made their way through the crowded passengers and arrived at the exit of Water Seven Station.
Just then, Alice noticed a middle-aged man with a thick beard and two strong arms walking past them in the distance, carrying a large basket of metal tools on his back.
The middle-aged man with blue hair in front of her wasn't small, but he paled in comparison to her brother, Rao. However, upon seeing him, Alice was surprised to see her rather aloof brother quickly step forward and greet him.
"Uncle Franky, are you on your way to repair the sea train? Do you need my help?"
Hearing the deep voice in his ear, the bearded man named Franky looked up at Raoh, who was extending his large hand.
"Oh, it's Lao! Long time no see."
A joyful smile immediately spread across his face. He walked over carrying a large basket of tools and punched Raoh hard in the stomach. The punch was quite powerful; Alice could even hear the air exploding when it landed. But amidst the gust of wind, her brother's tall body remained completely still. On the contrary, Uncle Franky, who had punched Raoh in the stomach, was forced back two steps before regaining his footing, his thick-bearded face showing a look as if he were looking at a monster.
"Lao, you little rascal, what did you eat to grow so tall? It's only been a year, and you've grown several dozen centimeters taller, haven't you? You're almost four meters tall now. Are you even human?"
As he spoke, he punched Rao's arm a few more times, making a dull thud like striking iron, which made Rao gasp and exclaim that he was a beast.
"Frankie?" Alice's mouth dropped open when she heard Raoh call out the name. Curious, she walked up to Frankie, scrutinizing the unkempt, bearded middle-aged man in tattered overalls and flip-flops. Somewhat uncertainly, she whispered, "You...you are the disciple of the great scientist Mr. Tom, the legendary shipwright of Water Seven, the expert in modifying the new Sea Train, Mr...Frankie?"
Her eyes seemed to sparkle as she spoke, which made Franky feel very pleased.
He slammed down the toolbox on his back, clasped his hands together, made a strange gesture in front of the brother and sister, and laughed heartily: "That's right! I am Franky, the disciple of the great scientist Tom, the legendary shipwright of Water Seven, the expert in modifying the new Sea Train, and the most SUPER handsome man in Water Seven."
"Is it really you, Mr. Franky? Could I have your autograph? I've seen your name in the newspapers before. The people I most wanted to see during my trip to Water Seven were you and Mr. Espagu." Alice excitedly pulled a small notebook and a pen from her pocket.
“Eisbag, that guy’s been really busy these past few days. A bunch of high-ranking officials from the World Government have come over. I doubt he’ll have time to sign an autograph for you.” Franky chuckled as he took the pen and paper Alice handed him, quickly signed his name, and then pulled out a piece of scrap wire from the toolbox behind him. He twisted it a few times and, as if by magic, turned it into a lifelike little bear doll. He then smiled and handed the pen and paper back to Alice.
"You must be Raoh's sister, Alice? I've heard about you from Raoh before. Since it's our first meeting, I didn't prepare a gift, so I'll give you this wire teddy bear. Have a good time in Water Seven for a few days, and I'll come back to entertain you when I'm done with my work."
"Thank you, Uncle Franky." Alice accepted Franky's gift with delight, holding it in her hands and playing with it with it.
At this moment, Raoh repeated the question, asking Franky if he needed help, but Franky waved his hand and refused.
"No need, this is just my daily work. You should take your sister and enjoy your time in Water Seven. Oh, by the way, are you here for the unveiling ceremony of the Sky Train?" Franky slung his toolbox over his shoulder and looked at Raoh.
“Yes.” Alice nodded, but Rao shook his head and looked up at the sky.
Above them, on the platform atop Dock One, a massive sculpture protruded from the platform, its majestic dragon head, adorned with flowing whiskers, gazing out at the vast ocean before Water Seven.
"Brother, didn't you come here for the unveiling ceremony of the Sky Train?" Alice asked her brother in confusion.
Before Raoh could answer, Franky seemed to have thought of something, slapped his forehead, and exclaimed in realization, "Oh, I know, that makes sense. How could a brat like you, whose mind is full of muscles and violence, be interested in that kind of technological product? You're here to see that kid, aren't you?"
"That kid?" A big question mark popped up above Alice's head.
Rao fell silent.
Franky laughed, "You won't be disappointed this time; that kid really did come here."
Rao's eyes suddenly sharpened. "Where is he?"
"Who is he? What are you talking about?" Alice was completely confused, having no idea who her brother and Franky were talking about.
Rao did not answer, but his tall body faintly exuded a wild and explosive aura.
Franky chuckled. "He's not in town. He went to Queen's City in Spring. I heard a sea train there was hijacked by pirates who appeared out of nowhere, and he rushed over to deal with it. If you can't wait..."
Before he could finish speaking, Rao looked at his sister and quickly said, "You play here, I have something to do."
After saying that, without waiting for Alice's response, his tall and strong body vanished in a flash.
"Where are you going?" Alice stared at Rao, who had vanished in the blink of an eye, her mind a complete mess.
What is all this nonsense?
Seeing this, Franky shook his head and chuckled as he took the paper and pen from Alice's hand, quickly wrote down a few Den Den Mushi numbers, and then handed them back to Alice, who was still in a daze.
"Never mind that kid, that's just his personality. Here, these are the phone numbers of some of my friends, including some of your age. If you run into any trouble, you can contact them and tell them you're my friend, and they'll definitely help you."
Chapter 848 Extra 2: Things are different and people are different
Springtime in Queen's City.
On the sea outside the city, a sea train passing by was hijacked by a group of pirates who appeared out of nowhere. This event, which should have caused chaos and panic in the city, instead attracted a crowd of people from the Holy Poplar Kingdom to watch as if it were a spectacle.
Even the merchants and tourists who gathered here from all over the world showed no sign of panic. Whether they were old or young, men or women, they all stood with their necks stretched out in the spacious and bright harbor, their faces filled with curiosity.
A snotty-nosed little boy was being led by an elderly man with a white beard. The boy, licking a lollipop with relish, asked innocently, "Grandpa, they're all talking about pirates. What are pirates? Thieves?"
The old man paused for a moment upon hearing this, then chuckled and shook his head, patting his grandson's head with a smile. "Pirates and thieves are not the same kind of people. You mustn't confuse them. Thieves usually just steal chickens and dogs, pilfering money and rarely taking lives. But pirates are a group of lawless criminals who burn, kill, and plunder. For them, killing and massacring villages for money, goods, women, and wine is just commonplace. But it's normal that you don't understand pirates. In this age of great exploration with ever-rising sea levels, although there are more seas than before, the number of pirates ravaging the seas is countless compared to the era when pirates were everywhere. Nowadays, pirates, something of the past, have become rare. Even the Seagull Newspaper rarely reports on any outstanding pirates anymore."
"So pirates are bad people, even worse than thieves?" the little boy asked, somewhat confused.
The old man nodded in affirmation, "Yes, much worse than a thief."
"Then why aren't you all scared?" The little boy scratched his head, looking around at the crowd of onlookers, somewhat puzzled.
"Haha, because this is the City of Spring Queens."
The old man picked up his grandson and pointed towards the city center, where a towering building stood, its top topped with a sculpture of three crossed long swords that gleamed brightly in the sunlight.
"Because this is the headquarters of the Hunter's Guild. The Hunter's Guild is now the most powerful righteous organization on the seas, second only to the World Government, and has countless heroes and warriors. Under the leadership of the guild master, they roam the seas, fight against evil and injustice, combat natural and man-made disasters, and cooperate with the World Government to save countless people from this world-destroying catastrophe."
"Hunter's Guild, Guild Master?" Upon hearing the name Hunter's Guild, the little boy instantly perked up, forgetting even his lollipop. His eyes shone as he looked at his grandfather, "Grandpa, is the Guild Master very powerful?"
"Very impressive."
"More powerful than pirates?"
The old man's face was full of admiration as he nodded and said, "Of course! The guild master is universally recognized as the world's greatest swordsman. He wields three black swords, capable of cleaving the heavens and splitting the seas. He is incredibly powerful and one of the strongest people on the great seas today..."
"One of them? Are there many people as powerful as the president?"
The old man thought for a moment, "There are definitely not many people as strong as the Chairman, but there are definitely more than a few. For example, the Revolutionary Army's Commander-in-Chief, Storm Dragon King Dragon; the Marine Headquarters' Commander-in-Chief, Sky-Burning Lava Sakazuki; the Dawn Marine Commander-in-Chief, Savior King Zephyr; the G5 Marine Commander-in-Chief, Weather Goddess Hibari; and the admirals of various races..."
The little boy listened intently and couldn't help but ask, "Then who among them is the strongest?"
"The strongest?" The old man was stumped by his grandson's question and couldn't come to a definite conclusion even after thinking for a long time.
The stories of these important figures he mentioned were all from Den Den Mushi news; he had never personally witnessed their power, nor did he know who was stronger among them.
But when it comes to the strongest, the old man couldn't help but think of a name that had once been etched in the hearts of countless people in this world, on this vast ocean, leaving them in awe and disbelief.
If we're talking about the strongest person in the world, then there's probably only one person who can overpower all those world-renowned figures and is the undisputed strongest.
It was that man who rose to prominence in just a few short years, slaying countless powerful pirates who dominated the seas, single-handedly ending the Great Pirate Era, and overthrowing the World Government that had ruled the world for eight hundred years. Even more than a decade after his death, his immense influence continues to profoundly affect the entire world…
Thinking of this, the old man couldn't help but look up at the majestic and awe-inspiring divine beast sculpture in the crowded throng not far away. He recalled that many years ago, the young navy boy in white stood in this very place, in this port, helping their Holy Poplar Kingdom withstand a pirate army of up to 20,000 men.
At that time, he wasn't so old yet; he was just an ordinary soldier in the Kingdom of Saint Poplar. But he had the privilege of witnessing the youthful and shy side of the man who would later become famous throughout the world.
However, when the old man wanted to tell his grandson the name of that invincible strongest person, he couldn't remember the name for a moment because of his fading memory.
This filled the old man with an overwhelming sense of shame.
That man had once saved this city, this country, these soldiers, and their families. He was even a great man who saved the world. How could he not feel ashamed that he had forgotten the name of his savior?
As the old man was deep in thought, he suddenly heard gasps of surprise from the crowd around him. He and his grandson turned their heads and looked up in the direction of their gazes. When he saw the person appearing in the sky, his cloudy eyes widened suddenly, his lips trembled, and finally, in a hoarse, aged voice, he uttered the name that he had said and thought of countless times before.
"General Lan... Lan Lin, Luo Xia!"
The old man's voice seemed to suddenly awaken the memories of those around him, and the onlookers showed expressions of barely suppressed excitement as they watched the familiar figure fly in from the sky and land rapidly on the top of the train over the sea.
He was a tall, slender young man with white hair and blue eyes. He wore a snow-white military uniform, and a wide cloak of justice fluttered in the wind behind him. He held a black halberd in his hand. Although his face still looked youthful, the look in his eyes was extremely calm and cold.
