"He is the current head of the Takagi family, a man who judges everything based on his own opinions... my father." Takagi Saya's expression remained unchanged as she said this, only cold indifference.

"Oh???" Lu Yi looked at the man with great curiosity after hearing Takagi Saya's words.

He had long, slightly messy black hair and cold, seemingly emotionless eyes, giving him a ruthless yet incredibly dignified air.

After getting out of the car, the man walked to the high platform that had been prepared by the pool, looking down at the crowd that had already gathered below. At the same time, a bulldozer drove up from the front, carrying an iron cage containing a zombie. The man pointed at the zombie in the cage and spoke in a stern voice: "This man is named Tetsutaro Doi, a former retainer of the Takashiro family and also my friend. Today, during a rescue operation, he was bitten while saving his comrade. He was a model of self-sacrifice, the noblest virtue of a human being. However, he is no longer human; he has become an extremely dangerous creature, so..." As he spoke, the man drew the sword that had always hung at his waist. With a flash of cold light, the sword was drawn. He gripped the sword with both hands, raised it above his head, and continued: "Here, I will fulfill my duty as a man of the Takashiro family to this hero."

The members of the Takagi family, who had been standing by the iron cage, walked to the cage after the man finished speaking, opened it, and released the zombie. The zombie, now free, was like a demon from hell, bursting out of the cage and charging towards the man. Everyone present screamed at this sight.

(I originally planned to incorporate elements of the Resident Evil movie, but it didn't quite make sense in the writing, so I abandoned that idea. I'll write about it when we get to the infinite world.)

Chapter Nine: First Glimpse of Talent

A loud "crack!" startled everyone who had been intently watching what was happening ahead. Turning to look at the source of the sound, they saw a woman holding a child, a broken baby bottle at her feet, milk spilled everywhere. Seeing everyone staring at her, the woman quickly explained, "I'm...I'm so sorry, my child..." She then knelt down to pick up the broken pieces of the bottle.

But just then, everyone seemed to notice something and turned to look ahead again. They saw that the zombie that had been charging at the man had its head blown off. Without its head, the zombie was unable to move and fell heavily to the ground with a "thud." The zombie's head fell into the pool behind the man, bobbing up and down in the water. The blood quickly stained the pool bright red.

Everyone stared in horror at the scene before them, and some even turned their heads away, unable to bear the sight.

Seeing everyone's reactions, the man spoke again: "This is our current situation. Close friends, beloved family, even former lovers must be defeated without hesitation. If you want to survive... you have to fight." By the end, his voice was almost a shout.

No one spoke; they all stared silently at the man. The courtyard was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

"Cold-blooded and ruthless, decisive in killing." That was Lu Yi's first impression of the man. However, Lu Yi didn't think there was anything wrong with that. In this kind of environment, if you can't deal with things decisively, then death is all that awaits you.

"What's wrong? Hirano, you look terrible." Komuro asked from the side. Hearing Komuro's voice, everyone looked at Hirano Toda, who was standing to the side. He had his head down, as if he was trying to hold back something. After a while, he said in a low voice, "Using a knife is too inefficient."

Upon hearing Hirano Toda's words, everyone except Lu Yi looked at him in confusion. Finally, Komuro spoke up, "What... are you talking about?"

"It's inefficient." Hirano Toda suddenly looked up at Komuro and shouted, "The blade of a Japanese sword will wear down if it touches bone. It'll be ruined after killing three or four people."

“That’s too arbitrary, Hirano.” Saeko Busujima said at this moment, “Even in swordsmanship, strength is reflected in battle results. The swordsman’s strength, the quality of the sword, and the tenacity of the spirit. If these three are well coordinated, no matter how many people you kill, your combat power will not decrease.”

"But...but if it gets stained with blood..." Hirano Toda argued.

"Hey, Hirano, there's no need to argue, is there?" Komuro walked up to Hirano Toda and patted him on the shoulder.

"Get away from me, don't touch me." Hirano Toda slapped Komuro's hand away angrily and said, "Shut up, you can't even handle a gun properly."

"Hirano, have you said enough?" Takagi Saya shouted at Hirano Toda as he continued to whine.

Upon hearing that Saya Takagi, whom he had always secretly loved, was also helping Komuro, Hirano Toda ran out in a fit of anger.

"Hey, Hirano." Komuro called out, and seeing that Hirano and Toda ignored him, he ran out as well.

"Sigh...that's just the two sides of the same coin." Saeko Busujima sighed as she saw them like this.

"Big brother, aren't you going to help them?" Little Alice couldn't bear to see them arguing, so she tugged at Lu Yi's hand and said.

"Hehe..." Lu Yi chuckled, squatted down, and patted Alice's head, saying, "It's not that I don't want to help them, but that I can't. This is a conflict between the two of them. If I forcefully intervene, it might backfire and make their conflict even bigger."

"Oh..." Little Alice nodded, seemingly understanding.

“However, if it’s Alice, we could give it a try; it might lead to a peaceful resolution.” Lu Yi then said to Alice, recalling the plot.

“Really? Can I?” Alice asked.

"Yes." Lu Yi nodded affirmatively. Alice happily ran out after receiving the affirmative answer.

Seeing Alice's happy expression, Lu Yi shook his head, stood up, and looked at the dense horde of zombies outside the gate, feeling a mix of emotions.

. . . .

Everyone had left, leaving only Lu Yi and Saeko Busujima standing there quietly side by side.

"Something terrible has happened!" After an unknown amount of time, Alice ran up to Lu Yi, panting as she spoke.

"What's wrong? Don't rush, tell me slowly." Lu Yi squatted down, patted Alice's back, and said softly.

"Quick... run, I'm coming! Hirano's in trouble..." Alice said anxiously, grabbing Lu Yi's hand after feeling a little better.

"Alright, you lead the way." Lu Yi and Saeko Busujima exchanged a glance, then Lu Yi said to Alice.

Led by Alice, Lu Yi and Saeko Busujima arrived at a secluded place. When they arrived, Hirano Toda was already surrounded by several people. The leader of this group was a tall, fair-skinned man who looked like a scholar, but he exuded an aura that only soldiers possess.

"Hand over the gun right now," one of them said.

"No...no," Hirano Toda said, clutching the gun tightly to his chest.

"Are you kidding me? Hand it over right now."

"Kid, this is a critical moment. You can't keep so many weapons all to yourself. Give them to us..." the leader said.

"No, these are all borrowed, and... there's no one here who's better with a gun than me," Hirano Toda pleaded.

"What's all the noise about?" A dignified voice rang out. Hearing this, everyone turned their attention to the front, where a man and a woman were walking slowly towards them from a distance. These two were Takagi Saya's parents.

"Commander... Commander-in-Chief." The leader bowed quickly upon seeing the two men, saying, "Because this kid treats guns like toys."

As soon as they finished speaking, the two of them walked up to the people and looked down at Hirano Toda, who was squatting on the ground. They said in a majestic voice, "I am Takagi Soichiro, former lord of the Tokoshu Domain, and the commander-in-chief of the Tendou Shoken-ryu school. Young man, state your name."

"Hirano Toda..., second year, class B, Fujimi Academy, student number 32," Hirano Toda said nervously, stammering.

"Your voice carries a certain arrogance, Hirano-kun. You must have suffered a lot before coming here!" Takashiro Soichiro said, looking at Hirano Toda. Then, his eyes narrowed, and he added, "You're not going to hand over the gun no matter what?"

"No, I won't hand it over." Hirano shook his head violently and said loudly, "Without a gun, I will turn back into my original form, forced back into my original form. I finally found something I can do."

“What can you do? Tell me,” Takashiro Soichiro asked.

"Yes...that's it..." Hirano Toda wanted to say that he saved your daughter, but the words just wouldn't come out.

"Protect your daughter." At this moment, Lu Yi spoke, and as he spoke, he took a step towards Takashiro Soichiro. With each step Lu Yi took, his aura increased, and when he reached Takashiro Soichiro, Lu Yi's aura completely suppressed Takashiro Soichiro's aura.

Chapter Ten: Murata the Murakami Sword

"Lu Yi!" Hirano Toda exclaimed in surprise as he looked up.

“Lu Yi? I see. I remember your name. You escaped here with my daughter, didn’t you?” Takashiro Soichiro looked at Lu Yi with surprise after hearing Hirano Toda’s words.

"Hehe...that's right." Lu Yi said with a smile, staring into Takashiro Soichiro's eyes.

“My daughter told me that you are very strong in combat and that you took care of all the zombies along the way during the escape. I didn’t believe it at the time, but now I do.”

"Oh??? Why?"

"Because of your aura, you were able to suppress mine. You must be no ordinary person!"

"Hehe..." Lu Yi did not answer Takashiro Soichiro's question, but shook his head and changed the subject, pointing to Hirano Toda who was still lying on the ground and holding his gun tightly, and said: "You are wrong. Your daughter is not protected by me, but by this fat guy that everyone thinks is useless, also known as the military otaku - Hirano Toda."

The commotion had already attracted Saya Takagi, Komuro, and the others. At this moment, Saya Takagi strolled over and pointed at Hirano Toda, saying, "Yes, Dad, although he's a short, fat, hopeless military otaku, if it weren't for him, I would have become a zombie long ago. That's right, it was him who protected me, not you, Dad."

"Takagi... classmate." Hirano Toda was deeply moved by Takagi Saya's words and murmured meaninglessly.

Silence, a deathly silence. Upon hearing Takagi Saya's words, everyone fell into silence. Only Lu Yi continued to look at Takagi Soichiro with a smile, knowing that he would eventually compromise.

As expected, after a moment of silence, Takashiro Soichiro finally spoke: "Alright, we won't force you to hand over your gun anymore. Consider it repayment for saving my daughter. Okay, everyone disperse. Lu Yi, you stay here. I have something to say to you."

. . . .

“Lu Yi, judging from this name, you must be from China, right?!” Takashiro Soichiro looked at Lu Yi sitting opposite him and asked Yan. Although it was a question, his tone revealed certainty.

"Since you already know, why ask again?" Lu Yi said with a light laugh.

"Haha... I guess I was mistaken." Takashiro Soichiro laughed and said, "You must be that mysterious martial artist from China, right? Do you use weapons?"

"Hehe... For martial artists like us, we must be able to use any weapon. Even if you don't use a weapon, you must be proficient in all weapons. Even if you can't be proficient, you must be able to use them. This way, in the most dangerous situation, no matter what weapon you get, you won't face danger or even death because of an unfamiliar weapon," Lu Yi said with a smile.

"Then what do you think of this knife?" he said, handing Lu Yi a Japanese sword.

Lu Yi took it and examined it. It didn't look particularly special on the outside, but when Lu Yi drew the knife, he felt a cold glint in his eyes. A finely crafted blade appeared before him, its blade gleaming with a cold light and exuding a murderous aura. It was indeed a fine knife, Lu Yi thought to himself.

"How is it?" Takashiro Soichiro asked with a smile.

"It's a very good knife. The killing intent of this knife is almost real. It must have killed quite a few people, right?" Lu Yi said.

"Hehe... Not bad, this knife has killed nearly ten thousand people since it was created."

"Oh??? No wonder." With that, Lu Yi channeled some of his own energy into the blade. "Buzz..." As soon as he channeled it in, the blade began to tremble in Lu Yi's hand.

"Huh? It's actually a weapon spirit. I really didn't expect that. Although it's only in its early stages and doesn't have intelligence yet, it's still quite rare." Lu Yi thought in surprise when he saw this situation. At this moment, the knife in his hand trembled faster and more violently, almost slipping out of his hand. Lu Yi's eyes flashed with a sharp light, and he snorted coldly. He instantly increased the input of his power and quickly subdued the vicious blade. He casually swung his hand at a table next to him, and with a crack, the table split in two, the break as smooth as a mirror.

"What's the name of this knife?" Lu Yi asked Takashiro Soichiro, looking at the knife in his hand.

"Murata sword." Takashiro Soichiro spoke the name of the sword with reverence in his eyes.

"Village...field...knife..."

. . . .

In the end, Lu Yi still didn't accept the knife. Takashiro Soichiro asked, puzzled, "Why don't you accept it?" Lu Yi replied, "I don't like using knives to refuse." Actually, Lu Yi didn't like Japanese things.

"What does he want with you?" As soon as Lu Yi stepped out of Takashiro Soichiro's room, Busujima Saeko walked up to him and asked.

"It's nothing, he just wants me to take care of his daughter," Lu Yi said.

"You... you agreed?" Saeko Busujima asked nervously.

“No, I refused. It’s better for him to take care of his daughter himself.” Lu Yi chuckled, looking at Saeko Busujima’s nervous expression. He then added, “By the way, get ready, we may be leaving this world soon.”

"Why?" Saeko Busujima asked, looking puzzled.

“I’ve thought it through. The things that happen in this world should be solved by the people of this world themselves. If I help them, it will only make them more dependent on me. They will never grow up. If something like this happens again, then this world will truly face its end. I think you don’t want that for them either, do you?” Lu Yi said to Saeko Busujima.

“I understand. I don’t know how my father is either.” After a moment of silence, Saeko Busujima spoke.

"Hehe... You don't need to worry about him, he's perfectly alive and well."

"Huh? How did you know? Where is he now?"

"He's in China now. Zhuque told me that China is the only place where this kind of thing hasn't happened and it's the safest place. It's completely sealed off; people are only allowed to leave, not enter. I've also told him that you're safe now, so he can stay in China and not go anywhere."

"Phew...that's good." Saeko Busujima breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that her father was alright.

Just then, a commotion arose outside. Lu Yi and Saeko Busujima exchanged a glance and went outside.
